Wally is an asshole.

I always figured he should have tried out for The Sopranos.........I do believe he would have fit in very well.

VS

Hey pete, I was just reading an article on TSN by Dave Naylor about rumors circling the league of a spat/fight/tussle between Duron and Sam Williams at Monday's practice. Was there anything about it on the local news? Apparently everyone quickly got back 'on message' and the league said it was an internal matter with the Riders and that they had handled it. Sheesh, the price you pay for talent sometimes. I love Duron's athletic ability and what he brings to our team but I wish the guy could tone things down a bit. I was really upset with him last week before he totally redeemed himself with 11 catches, 231 receiving yards. Hard to keep ragging on a guy no matter how irritating he can be, when he performs so damn well on the field.

I hear that he will be doing double duty tonight - it will be interesting to see how he performs as a cornerback when he is on the defense. Maybe this is CJ's plan to settle the guy down..........work him so hard he has no energy left to do something stupid. Apparently, Bo will be targeting him.

Oh the story just got better.........TSN's Cuthbert said that Duron was almost put on a bus! The panel was saying a coach was involved in the fracas. Calgary's Jorden took issue with the idea that a receiver could come out and make a play against him - said he thought it was disrespectful. I hope Duron nabs one of his catches and takes it all the way back - that'll shut him up quick.

I have no expectations. I haven't a clue how well the Riders will play tonight. I expect that the Stamps will be primed they love playing us.

Green is the color..............................GO RIDERS!

That tackle of DC's on Messam.................so important, pete and boy did he come through

The guys are on fire pete

Crappy got us another 3 on a 26 yarder. Riders lead 10 -1. Brandon threw an interception but the D stood tall and the Stamps went 2 and O.

With a minute twenty-seven left in the half, Paredes puts 3 more on the board for the Stamps. 10 - 4 Riders

Brandon threw his second interception of the game but thankfully it too would go for naught when the D forced another 2 and out on the Stamps. Calgary did manage to get 3 on the board off a Paredes FG. Score at half-time: 10 - 4 Riders

Dominating. What's with Bridge, Stage fright?

Had me worried there for awhile but thankfully CJ decided to get our running game going and get him involved in that.........worked pretty well up until that 2nd and goal fiasco.........ah well Crappy got his 18 straight FG and we are up by a converted TD.......against the STAMPS.............with under 6 to go in the 3rd...........and we just intercepted Bo and took the ball all the way back to the 2nd yard line?.....one good play and we score 6

Okay..........so it took two...........ooooh or maybe not.............his knee may have been down before the ball crossed the plane.......yep he was down...........so it took 3 plays.......but they did get it in the end zone, finally.........and they are going for 2..........Adam's keeps the ball and takes it in himself and we are up by 2 converted TDs............unreal frickin' real.

OMG!............this one's going to be on the highlight reel for sure. Duron Carter just intercepted Bo wound his way back and forth across the field looking for openings and getting blocks. I counted 6 Stamp defenders he evaded on the way to the end zone. The Riders are ahead of the Stamps 28 - 7 with 11:34 remaining in the 4th.

Stamp fans are leaving the stands...........the weather stinks..........it started raining really hard then that turned into sleet and now it is snowing - it isn't just the play on the field that is driving them out of McMahon.

Bo is out of the game and Andrew Buckley, a Canadian QB is in to replace him. First time 2 Canadian QBs have faced off against each other in a CFL game.

We just forced Stamps into giving up a safety and extend our lead 30 - 7 with 4:28 left in the game. Dare I believe that we are not only going to win this game but we are going to beat the STAMPS in their own backyard? I dare.

We rocked this game. We were better in just about every area then the Stamps tonight. Our D pressured Bo all night long and gave him few chances to make the big plays. We also found a way to limit the damage Messam can do on the run. Brandon struggled but still manage to get us 30 points tonight after Kev was somewhat ineffectual. Chad Owens - the Flyin' Hawaiian - debuted with the team tonight and made an immediate impact. Christian returned a punt for a TD and got us great field position all night long. And Duron Carter.............the guy just keeps coming up with more ways to impress us with his athleticism and canny reading of situations. He was tonight's MVP and Player of the Game and deservedly so.

THE SASKATCHEWAN ROUGHRIDERS JUST BEAT THE CALGARY STAMPEDERS AND WILL BE THE TALK OF LEAGUE THIS WEEK.

ROCK ON RIDERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I do believe that posting the horse hunting meme had something to do with the win, pete

So we clinched a play-off spot. I've got to let that sink in a bit. Early in the season I didn't think we had a chance.......oh how things and the team have changed. Kudos Chris Jones.

We are in the playoffs!

We are and we deserve to be after the way we played to tonight. The Riders proved to me that they can be contenders for the Cup, pete. I'm still processing the fact that it was the ponies we beat........it is almost surreal.

Our boy DC after the interception return for a TD that will live long in highlight reels

CALGARY – The Calgary Stampeders aren’t totally convinced that Saskatchewan Roughriders star receiver Duron Carter will be starting at cornerback in Friday’s game at McMahon Stadium.

Having said that, the Stampeders are still preparing for the possibility of Carter playing on defence and offence.

“It will be interesting, but I still have to see it to believe it,’’ said Calgary defensive back Jamar Wall. “It’s easy to put something on paper and then come out and do something completely different. If that’s what they want to do, then more power to them. He might be a good corner, but it won’t be easy. We do this every day of our lives and it’s still hard.’’

Stampeders skeptical of Riders starting Duron Carter | Regina Leader-Post

I'd say that Duron made it look pretty darn easy, Jamar. ...........heh, heh, heh.

I think if all the pieces fall into place (and probably unlikely) you could wind up hosting the western semi-finals. You could also be 3rd in the west or 3rd in the east.

I was just thinking of getting a couple more paintings. Going to Riders Vs Esquimauxs in 2 weeks. I try to get Gainer to pose again.

Nope. Already going to be at Hoovers Field.

I guess Winnipeg must have the tiebreaker vs SK. I think Edmonton could still host as they have 1 more game outstanding (could get 24 points). If they did they would host Winnipeg.

I have never heard them called the Hoovers. Where did that nickname come from?

As good as Duron was last night, and as he mentioned in a post-game interview, this was a team effort and a team win and some of those who really stepped up aren't getting the credit they deserve, IMHO.

So, in no certain order, I give you Chad Owens who in his first game with my Riders caught 5 passes for 78 yards, 20 more than the Stamp's Jorden - he of the self-tweeted superior receiving abilities. Christion Jones set us up with great field position every time he returned a punt and scored a TD on one return. Vernon Adams, in for Brandon, called his own his number for a major and then called it again for the 2-pt convert. Bakari had 4 grabs for 53 yards. Cameron Marshall, freshly back from injury, rushed 14 times for 53 yards which again, it might be noted, was 10 more than his Stampeder counterpart. Ed Gainey got us an interception off Bo that led to the Adams TD then saw a TD wiped off the board on his second interception after the Riders were called for a late hit on Bo. Brandon Bridge had 133 passing yards to his credit - only 3 yards less than Bo.

I don't have the stats on tackles and take-downs but the very fact that our Rider D never allowed so much as a single TD to the much vaunted Calgary offense and held the Stamps to 2 FGs and a single, speaks volumes.

How about a selfie, pete. I don't have anymore room on my walls for paintings but a photo would be grand.

I could be wrong but I do believe I picked up the term from pete and it might have something to do with the function of a vacuum cleaner.

Watching the Argos and the Bombers right now. Cheering for the Blue and White - be nice to see an Eastern team put another win on the board.

Don't you have the pic of me and the Grey Cup in 2013?

Yup. Winnipeg Hoovers because they suck.

Sheesh, I forgot I had that one, pete.............I'm going to print it up next time I'm in town. Thanks for reminding me.

Ah, good to know I got it right with the Hoover name.

Hoovers clinched it last week.

Esks are 9-6. If they win out they will be 12-6 with 24 points. If Winnipeg loses out, they will have their current 22 points and be on the road. Whomever said they clinched was wrong. They did clinch tiebreaker over SK as they have won 2/3.
