Good.

OTTAWA—The CBC has lost another key court battle in its efforts to keep internal documents secret.
The Federal Court of Appeal ruled against the public broadcaster today, saying the CBC is legally required to turn over material for review by the information commissioner of Canada.
The case involved 16 requests for information that the CBC said it did not have to provide under a provision in the law that lets it protect certain journalistic and creative material.
The broadcaster also refused to allow information commissioner Suzanne Legault to see the documents so she could review their decision, after requesters complained.
Legault took the case to court, winning in 2010 and winning again today after the CBC had appealed.
The public broadcaster became subject to the Access to Information Act in September 2007, and has since been flooded with hundreds of requests, many from a law firm representing Sun Media.

They are FOIA requests anyway. They'll get the Jiffy markered versions of paperwork in the same manner tabloid media always does for UFOs, lake monster and now financial and structuring FOIA requests.

Then they can profit from conspiracy theories of CBC being globalist military controlled propaganda media (a necessary EBS provider BTW) withholding the truth about UFOs and lake monsters.

CBC is Black Ops!

I used to enjoy their sports coverage on TV (Toronto Sports Network sucks for CFL) and have always liked RadioOne since I was a geek kid with a crystal radio I built from parts at Radio Shack.

If anything, this is the fault of slipshod, ambiguous legislation. Hopefully we can get a bit more specific about exactly what kind of information is to be revealed.

Btw, anyone who thinks this is CBCs 'fault' is dumb.

The CBC seems to have no issue with asking for Freedom of information. I don't really see why this is an issue unless they are fearful that how the public money they receive is not being spent in a responsible manner. I say its a plus for taxpayers.

Absolutely!

Why does the Mgt appointed by the PM need to be audited?

Well, the PM, as an employee of the Canadian people, is not above scrutiny, so why should anyone appointed to a position by the PM be above scrutiny? Audits are necessary to ensure that the systems in place to prevent abuses of power are actually working.

Sometimes defending the enemy of your enemy is more than a little wacky. But it seems an obligation (hobby) of left-leaning leaning folks.

They funny guys. Mad, but funny.

Is that what you lefties do?

Back in the day when I was an instructor we used to have an occasional student we called "Red Herring" because they would sit in the back of classroom and toss out questions to the instructors which were not particularly relevant and didn't really accomplish anything, but interrupt the flow of the discussion.
