They have every right to disassociate with a broadcaster that no longer maintains an image they want to be associated with.

Yes they do. They just have to do it legally.

I am near positive that he would have had a morals clause in his contract.

Does he have his own contract or is he covered under the unions contract?

If he didn't the CBC deserves to lose the lawsuit although not sure how anybody would think the CBC has $50 million. They don't even have hockey anymore.

I'm not sure if he can sue the CBC. As I've said before, I'm not up on Ontario labour laws. If the CBC did fire him without just cause and the union failed to stand behind him for he may be able to go after the union instead (if they failed to act appropriately). Some people here have made the erroneous claim that he can't sue the CBC for wrongful dismissal. While it is rare that a wrongful dismissal suit brought by a unionized employee is heard, it is not unheard of. "Exceptional circumstances" may allow a unionized employee to sue the employer instead of filing a grievance.

Go back and read the thread. Those questions you posed were answered.

Then why did you bring the agreement between the CBC and the Canadian Media guild into the discussion.
Because he's bound by both. I even as much told you it wasn't the only source I was drawing from.

Moving the goal posts again I see.
Nope. My guess is, you missed it while you tried desperately to find something to save face with.

You do that a lot.

Two days pay would have been very generous for that f**Ker!:)

I made a typo when I posted, I should have said two hours pay!

I'm going to try to find it, but I think the exact words may have been "give her a slap".:) Just hang tough!

Either that or "I'd slap the bitch" (memory is good but it's short)

that's standard, yes, from my experience it is seldom followed, we were cheap and we always doubled it

in his case I'm betting a year or more...millions anyway

I have a slight (actually a huge) problem with paying people when they are not working!:)

I heard through the grapevine that Ghomeshi had been invoking problems with his co workers like instilling fear into them and generally bullying them. Is that not adequate reason to fire him on the spot with no severance once the statements of the co workers were substantianted? He's lucky he's not lying under a concrete slab in the basement! :)

" I'd just like to hear something more substantial than CB limited legal expertise and JLMs tantrums."

You're the only one on here who throws tantrums! :):):):)

Journalism students at the University of Western Ontario were cautioned against pursuing internships at Jian Ghomeshi’s popular CBC radio show Q due to concerns about “inappropriate” behaviour toward young women by the now-fired host, according to a former student at the school and a journalism professor.

Students were warned away from Q internships: professor | Toronto Star

Students were told two years ago that internships at Q were “off limits” due to concerns about inappropriate behaviour by Ghomeshi, a former Western student told the Star.

Students were not given specifics, but were told that there was concern about “overly flirty” behaviour by Ghomeshi when dealing with female university students, the former student said.

Disturbing.

I'm sorry I didn't evoke the RCS overt denial strategy.

Yes, I wanted to believe someone I had respect for was still respectable.

Yes, I'm glad enough of his victims came forward to change everyone's minds.

Idol of the left? wtf? He barely did or said anything political. Ghomeshi that is.
He's a "journalist/host" for the CBC. Who were the first to unadvisedly jump to his defense?
