After the failure of all the prescription drugs they could think of, and being loathe to prescribe anything as addictive as opioids, doctors once discussed with me the idea of medical marijuana. I went home, researched, found the application forms, and took a long hard look at what the process would be like and what it would leave me open to. Yearly licensing, constant form filling, and what happens if your license expires and the police suspect you haven't quit wanting to be pain free? I decided quite easily that while one way may be legal, the way that DIDN'T put me on police radar was somehow preferable, and that's when I also decided that none of it was worth my time in the current environment surrounding pot. Pretty bad when the system is set up so that even people who could benefit from it won't use it through the doctors.

That surprises me. I heard on the news in the past few years where doctors say there are more preferable treatments than Marijuana that can be prescribed. Kind of makes one wonder what bullsh*t to believe doesn't it?

The same myth that tobacco smoke cause cancer as opposed to factory smoke and car and truck exhaust causes the real cancer.

Doctors like their pills because they're quantifiable, predictable, proven. The problem is, they don't work for everyone. Fibromyalgia is a tricky one because it seems to have its basis in chemical sensitivity, so, it's pretty hard for a pill to not set something off. I have a hard time even finding vitamins I can take. I get rashes, I get sick to my stomach, I get dizzy for days, or the meds will make me high as a kite without touching the pain. There was just no point in taking them.

You have my sympathy, Karrie and I hope a solution is found soon. It's bad enough when old codgers are in pain, tragic when it's young people.
