It's not enough for a motion to be neutral, but it ought to appear neutral by its wording too. I agree that it was sparked by murders in Quebec and with that it's worth mentioning in discussions, but it should be kept out of the official, formal motion itself in favour of more neutral terms.

What's wrong with Muslims? I've read the Qur'an and if read in context, though I agree some of its laws are outdated, it's actually a positive book.
I myself had contemplated adopting Islam years ago in spite of Islam's reputation. One thing that held me back was its outdated laws, but I could see that they were progressive for its time.

They feel that similar to all other religions, Muslims in Canada enjoy the same protection as all other's do.
