Sorry...but man the whining really gets to me...especially when its all about greenbacks, full grown men, whining, its just not right. Where I come from well men don't whine.

Can I give another perspective? I have really enjoyed the information ITN has provided on this and other threads, with his viewpoint from the US. I think he has been more than fair, and we don't always agree on all issues.

As far as whining, with respect, that is a matter of your opinion and perspective. What I or ITN may think are legitimate complaints are, to you and the Rev, whining. When these complaints get marginalized, then that marginalizes the people making the complaints. To some of us, it appears that anyone with a different opinion than either yours, the Revs, or Vannis becomes irrelevant, which takes away the concept of free speech and thought.

Anyway, just another viewpoint on this issue.

Well, he has called me an extreme religious zealot. As I am not, that is a lie. He has said that Harper wants to destroy health care in Canada. He does not, so that is a lie. He has said that Harper wants to ban abortion. He does not, so that is a lie. He has said that Harper will outlaw homosexuality. He will not, so that is a lie.

These were not expressed as opinions, they were expressed as facts. They are not true. I don't know what else to call them, if not lies?

No, don't get banned, I really enjoy your comments. They are well thought out, and make consice, thoughtful points, even on issues I don't agree with you on.

The real problem, as I see it, is we have people who reject any other opinion than there own, and try to humiliate these people with insults, usually because there is no response to your comments. If we are to embrace the concept of free speech, we cannot ban people from having free thoughts, and on a public forum like this, if there is no libel, then banning people who post these free thoughts is wrong, and degrades the meaning of free speech. As the old saying goes, "I may disagree with your opinion, but I will defend to the death your right to have it."

I would hope the mods on this forum take the same attitude.

Well, I guess you gotta do what you gotta do :wink: Just keep in mind, please, that I am not the only one who has mentioned the fairness issue. The only difference is most of the rest are gone, either voluntarily or not, and I have stayed. I don't know about right wing boards, the only one I looked at, FD, I did not like, so left right away.

If people want to express opinions, thats one thing, but to express their opinions as facts is not right, in my opinion.

I don't see any lies here Blue...all I see is Rev speculating on Harper's and the CPC motives...that's not lying though...

If he said that Harper did do this or that, and it was false, then that would be lying...

...and as to your comment about people telling you to leave for remarking about positive aspects of the US, you conveniently forgot or failed to mention, that at the same time you will invariably get a dig in on some aspect of the Canadian government...which leads one to believe that you would be happier on the other side of the border...this is not a left-winger attacking a right-winger issue, this is a reactionary response to you constantly shitting on a country that some of us believe is worth saving...
