I am new to Canada (from texas) and was curious if I need anything special on my rain gutters to protect from all the ice and snow. In texas I used a great company (link removed) they had a great warranty and did great work does anyone know of any large Canadian companies that have done good work for them and back up their work with a warranty. Thanks for any help.
I am installing a new roof this summer. Due to the ice damming - melt freeze etc I am also installing heated cable - 3 ft up from the eaves,and the overhang all around the perimeter of the roof, as i have a 2 story, thru the gutters as well and will have a trail running down from the venting to the gutters-
These are readily available and can be easily installed.
You could put those plastic leaf catchers, but in my opinion a good cleaning with a hose does the trick They have a foam product on the market that you can install in your gutters - then when you think about it, hard to clean - holds dirt - then in winter what do you do?
