I love to see how the wind is really changing to Conservatism up in Canada. I've been laughing about the notion that a US Democrat would be a conservative in Canada for awhile now. Now I will laugh harder.

Nope. The core support for conservative ideals has not changed. Still around 30%. This forum is not representative.

Besides, a secular state is not an ideal of the core-conservative supporter in Canada.

I'd say that this is Left wing babble. I could care less if we were a secular state, in fact I support it. I'm pretty sure Locutus is non religious, not sure about Colpy. Almost every conservative I know is either agnostic or outright atheist. I know we have a few Christians here that are Liberal voters.

However you raise an interesting point so let's have a poll.

I'll start it in another thread.

About one dozen families who recently immigrated to Canada are demanding that the Louis Riel School Division in Winnipeg excuse their children from music and coed physical education programs for religious reasons.

The families believe that music is un-Islamic – just like the Taliban believe and then imposed on the entire population of Afghanistan – and that physical education classes should be segregated by gender even in the elementary years….

In any event, the school district is trying to find a way to adapt the curriculum to fit the wishes of these families, rather than these families adapting to fit into the school and Canadian culture.

Mahfooz Kanwar, a member of the Muslim Canadian Congress, says he has some better ideas.

“I’d tell them, this is Canada, and in Canada, we teach music and physical education in our schools. If you don’t like it, leave. If you want to live under sharia law, go back to the hellhole country you came from or go to another hellhole country that lives under sharia law,” said Kanwar, who is a professor emeritus of sociology at Mount Royal University in Calgary.

That might be putting things a little more forcefully than most of us would be comfortable with, but Kanwar says he is tired of hearing about such out-of-tune demands from newcomers to our country. “Immigrants to Canada should adjust to Canada, not the other way around,” he argues….

You can be accommodating to a certain degree but this is a recipe for disaster. These kids are going to grow up segregated from their peers and will likely rebel if they aren't allowed the freedoms they see their classmates enjoy.

We had a very sad situation with a family here in Montreal. The Shafia parents and son were convicted of killing their 3 daughters and the first wife of the father in Kingston because they didn't "follow the rules".

I don't know what can be done but this professor is absolutely right.

FFS Eagle.... how does every thread or news report about something in Canada have to be twisted back into something having to do with the US with you?

Even the other thread about the two women losing their jobs to "Foreign Temp Workers" was somehow twisted back to some relation to the US and your Political Party Mentalities.

If something like this happens in Canada, it somehow has to relate to the US.... if it happens in the UK, it has something to do with the US.... if something like this happens anywhere else, it has to relate back to some reference of the US with you.

Newsflash:

The US still isn't the centre of the world and this report/thread has nothing to do with the US.

Stop trying to act like a little child trying to constantly grab attention from others because nobody is paying attention to you.

"Oh no, several posts have been made without a single reference to the US.... time for me to toss the M'erican way into the mix, twist it into how it's all about my country and make some half-azzed troll response how Canadians are just like Americans, or worse... because we invented everything, everybody does what we do and people poke fun at us because we're so great."

Seriously Eagle, get over yourself, you're beginning to look desperate for attention and it's a little sad.

It's as though you just come into these forums to try and shat all over everybody else to try and make yourself feel better about your own miserable life and your screwed up country.

How about you waddle over to some American forum and continue your rants and trolling about Canada where someone might actually give a damn?

Oh wait, you probably already did that and none of them wanted you around, so you "Immigrated" to these forums instead where you're more tolerated...... and yet you still b*tch and moan about the people who took you in and go on about how great the place you came from is so much better.

Maybe you should heed the advice of the above Muslim Professor and go back to the hellhole country you came from.

By the way Praxius aren't you living in Australia? Didn't you abandon us for the land down under?

No deep breaths required, and that's a matter of opinion. I'm just portraying the same mentality represented in this thread to his attitude constantly shown in these forums..... like the "East Germans" mentioned by you.

By the way Praxius aren't you living in Australia?

And Andem (The guy who runs this place last I checked) is in Germany, what's your point?

Didn't you abandon us for the land down under?

I didn't abandon Canada and since both you and Eagle keep trying to poke fun at me moving to Australia, I left because my wife's father died of cancer a month after our wedding, her brother was murdered by having his throat slashed by some punks a couple of months later and her mom got cancer a few months after that.

Excuse the hell out of me for deciding to move closer to her family during a very rough time.

Feel better now?

The difference with me is I didn't leave Canada because I hated it and I don't come in here trying to bash Canada or its people every second chance I get.... and under different circumstances, we'd still be living in Canada today. I have my gripes with Australia, but I have them for Canada as well. Both have very similar ways of life and the same kind of problems. They also have similar benefits. For me, a place is a place and I do what I think is best for myself and my family above all else.

But if it makes you and Eagle feel like big men to poke fun at my wife's family's misfortune.... go right ahead. I'll let others judge you on those actions.

Careful your AA is showing.

Andem can take a joke, and doesn't exclude.

Sorry about your situation man, but that hardly seems relevant other than fact you were acting like an A-Hole and got made fun of for acting like an A-Hole, not because of a family tragedy.

Feel better now?

Not better, not worse.

The difference with me is I didn't leave Canada because I hated it and I don't come in here trying to bash Canada or its people every second chance I get.... and under different circumstances, we'd still be living in Canada today. But f_ck America right.

Oh Jesus Christ. Sorry about the death and misfortune (I had no idea), but when you act like an A-Hole you're bound to be made fun of and thanks for tossing out the card. I'm not picking it up. Not feeling bad, because personal tragedy does not give you license to act like an A-Hole.

Personal tragedy had nothing to do with my original post or any of my other posts in these forums, you dragged it into this conversation, not me.

So stop trying to shift the blame like you're the good guy here. You wanted to take a jab at me by ignorantly mocking my leaving Canada for Australia as some sort of forum brownie point and a pat on the back by your buddies in here. Me leaving Canada didn't even have anything to do with this topic or my comments towards Eagle's post, yet you thought it'd be an easy troll point to drag it into the conversation.

I can take a joke as well.... however I didn't see a joke being presented when you try and make a baseless claim that I "Abandoned" Canada because my wife had a lot of personal family issues occur in a very short span of time.

I try to keep my personal business out of these and other forums simply because they're my personal business, but when I have you and others constantly trying to poke fun and mock my life decisions for leaving Canada and make me out to be someone who hates the place I was born and raised and has the rest of my family within, eventually something has to be said.

I said it.... this is why I moved. And with that decision comes the consequence of my side of the family hardly ever seeing my son and being a part of his life as he grows up, plus these people who have passed away on my wife's side never being a part of his life. It's not like I have all sorts of money I can throw at plane tickets to fly back and forth from both countries and spend a few weeks here and there while keeping a paying job.

And to poke fun at someone's personal life decisions as some political or forum snipe for your own amusement just goes to show the maturity of some in here.

You didn't know?

Of course you didn't know, because I didn't tell you.... even still, this is why I don't try and mock and make fun of other member's personal lives.

I may question Eagle's reasons for being in these forums, but I won't stoop to such a level as to make fun of something relating to his personal life & life choices that I know nothing about.

I don't ask Andem why he's in Germany and not Canada because it's none of my business.

I don't ask you anything about your personal life, nor to I try and make comments in here that would try and mock your personal life decisions.

I don't come in here looking for sympathy, acceptance or to be anybody's "Friend" I come in here to debate topics, waste some time and focus on a poster's posts, not the poster's personal life.

Yet I'm the one who's the A-Hole?

Bite me.

I'M ALWAYS RELAXED!!

But seriously, I'm not phased in the slightest. If I got upset over every little thing some faceless person on the internet said, I wouldn't go on the internet.

I'm just pointing out a flaw in RCS's attack on me and just making sure my point is made.

Guess that does make me an A-Hole :p

"That might be putting things a little more forcefully than most of us would be comfortable with"

And therein lies the problem. Everyone is so worried about offending them so they bend over backwards to allow them to do whatever they want. Personally I am getting tired of it. Little by little, our culture is being withered away by the disease known as Political Correctness.

Yes you are and rather than pausing to see that you're throwing out the victim card. I've never really had a problem with you before Prax, maybe we disgreed, but that's been the extent of it. See it how you want. I know what I meant.
