There's buzz at Pulse about the Truth being the next single. I know it's not a fave of either of you guys, but I love it too. I probably wouldn't have picked it next but I still love it.
I don't love The Truth, but I don't hate it. I'm sad that Kris's second single might be something I don't love. But if the single happens to be that song, I assume the market research supports it. I don't know whether Top 40 will play it or not. I actually can see them playing it in Boston, because they do play a wide variety. (By the way, WWFM was #1 last week on their Top 30 in the city-- though I've never been able to figure out how they determine their Top 30.)
The thing I was thinking recently was: I want Kris to do something either fun and upbeat, or else just dynamic, on AI. I don't think the AI audience ever gets to see either his humor or the great way he is with certain songs like CSA, AWM, etc. If his performances on AI this year end up consisting of Let It Be and The Truth, I could almost sympathize with people for not getting what Kris is all about, and thinking he wasn't any fun.
Thanks for answering all the stuff I brought up,
SleepinIn.
Canadian's love for FYE? Probably the overreaction from the US at the AMA's. I think that performance scared a lot of stations away from playing it. As a dance song it works. If the radio in the US had played it I think it would have done better, just from watching MOD, the audience loved it when they knew the song. I'm not a huge fan of the song but it is catchy, and I'd totally sing along to it.
Yeah, I'm not sure. I actually think the song itself is to blame for it not taking off here, not the AMAs. I mean, it did play on radio, I heard it. There was also a video on VH1 that didn't go anywhere. Time For Miracles didn't go anywhere, either.
In looking at the US, the media blows everything up. I don't think people do. Like, my cousin and his wife and their take on the AMAs. They didn't overreact, they just didn't like it, they thought it was tasteless. As I recall they said it was a shame he may have hurt his career because he's talented. Some of my friends thought the performance was ridiculous and that Adam sucked. But is that an overreaction? The media is the devil.
Why not AWM? It's so catchy! Gah, if they really chose The Truth, it'll be "Come Back to Me" all over for me. I think a song like AWM might have had a better chance to play on the top 40 station I listen to, because of its pop/catchy side. They never played LLWD, and I know that they wouldn't play a song like The Truth.
What did the person on Pulse say, anyway? (By the way, this is the second time someone on Pulse supposedly leaked the single. Weeks ago there was also someone who said it was going to be The Truth. Which doesn't mean it won't be, of course.)
I also want Alright With Me.
