I agree it will have a harder time on top 40. The buzzer is a fan of Train though so who knows? They could be just hoping.

So the only person Conan O'Brien is following is going to the concert tonight. I know this because? I am a crazy person. Stop me.

It seems like a music blog, yes. But they have rankings and stuff. It doesn't seem to be a radio station. It's from France. The link you posted, they say it's a list of new songs that people will soon be able to choose their favorites from. In any case, seems like Kris is getting at least a little bit of attention in France!

Radiohead you say? What song?

I just turned it on and the stereo is playing Kesha. And now, Gaga. If it doesn't start in a few minutes, I quit.

I think Bieber is playing now. Baby? Never heard that song, it's awful. The tweens in the audience are singing along.

Okay, I quit. I've seen the radio people come out to talk to the crowd twice and when they leave they put all this incredibly awful music.

There's buzz at Pulse about the Truth being the next single. I know it's not a fave of either of you guys, but I love it too. I probably wouldn't have picked it next but I still love it.

I don't love The Truth, but I don't hate it. I'm sad that Kris's second single might be something I don't love. But if the single happens to be that song, I assume the market research supports it. I don't know whether Top 40 will play it or not. I actually can see them playing it in Boston, because they do play a wide variety. (By the way, WWFM was #1 last week on their Top 30 in the city-- though I've never been able to figure out how they determine their Top 30.)

The thing I was thinking recently was: I want Kris to do something either fun and upbeat, or else just dynamic, on AI. I don't think the AI audience ever gets to see either his humor or the great way he is with certain songs like CSA, AWM, etc. If his performances on AI this year end up consisting of Let It Be and The Truth, I could almost sympathize with people for not getting what Kris is all about, and thinking he wasn't any fun.

Thanks for answering all the stuff I brought up, SleepinIn.

Canadian's love for FYE? Probably the overreaction from the US at the AMA's. I think that performance scared a lot of stations away from playing it. As a dance song it works. If the radio in the US had played it I think it would have done better, just from watching MOD, the audience loved it when they knew the song. I'm not a huge fan of the song but it is catchy, and I'd totally sing along to it.

Yeah, I'm not sure. I actually think the song itself is to blame for it not taking off here, not the AMAs. I mean, it did play on radio, I heard it. There was also a video on VH1 that didn't go anywhere. Time For Miracles didn't go anywhere, either.

In looking at the US, the media blows everything up. I don't think people do. Like, my cousin and his wife and their take on the AMAs. They didn't overreact, they just didn't like it, they thought it was tasteless. As I recall they said it was a shame he may have hurt his career because he's talented. Some of my friends thought the performance was ridiculous and that Adam sucked. But is that an overreaction? The media is the devil.

Why not AWM? It's so catchy! Gah, if they really chose The Truth, it'll be "Come Back to Me" all over for me. I think a song like AWM might have had a better chance to play on the top 40 station I listen to, because of its pop/catchy side. They never played LLWD, and I know that they wouldn't play a song like The Truth.

What did the person on Pulse say, anyway? (By the way, this is the second time someone on Pulse supposedly leaked the single. Weeks ago there was also someone who said it was going to be The Truth. Which doesn't mean it won't be, of course.)

I also want Alright With Me.

Pretty sure I don't care about BLG.

Sorry, what is BLG?

What is this show Kris is doing tonight?

Oh, yeah -- and I agree it's lousy if it ends up that one of Kris's own songs can't be the 2nd single.

It was an all accoustic show. Audience was sort of reved up for a dance party. LOL

oh, and soundcheck Kris sang Paranoid Android and High and Dry. Some blue grassy song, and something I didn't recognize. As well as the usuals

Yeah, I'm lost on BLG as well! (ETA: Oh, okay, thanks for explaining!)

What was the Radiohead song they played, do you remember SleepinIn?

I just found the link. What band am I watching? It's a very clear live stream.

ETA: Okay, got it, just read your posts. Boys Like Girls...they do suck. I've noticed before this that the lead singer can't sing. James Taylor said something recently that began, "Back when it mattered that people actually sang well..."

Who played with Kris, Cale?

It was actually the whole band. I was surprised it was accoustic. And actually more surpised when BLG was accoustic too. Audience was WILD. Couple more minutes and I'll post the soundcheck if you want.

There were over 400 people when Kris was on.. I think it's down to about 100 now.

Lots of chatter overtop of it. But seriously Kris's voice is amazing and the band is great!

Ha. I like that song. I don't think it's great music, it's just a catchy pop song.

About Kalan, I don't know who saw or didn't see his most recent tour shows (back about a year and a half ago) but they made me a fan. For economic reasons, I guess, he had to do a stripped down tour and he just had his two guys, Ricky (strings) and Ben (keyboards). Kalan also played keyboards, violin, even some percussion and even guitar (barely). He did all the arrangements, and they were fantastic, his taste is great. His voice and pitch were better than on Idol, and overall it was amazing how much he had grown in about three-four years. In his own way he's as musical as Jacob and has grown as much. To me, he's way more adept and musical than Theo, for instance, and a much better singer.

Great. Do you have the performance as well? I don't want you to do a lot of work, here. Please, don't. It'll be on YouTube, I'm sure.

I saw the whole band acoustic, remember? I love them acoustic.
