I wonder how accurate any of these rumors are, anyway.

So someone linked to a photo on TWoP that shows the drummer at the Arkansas school concert was not Ryland. And not Drew. No wonder it sounded different.

It's funny. You guys were talking about John Hugues movies just a few days ago and they did a tribute at the Oscars. My twitter feed exploded with "OMG! John Hugues movies!!!". I felt left out, lol. At least, I have seen the Home Alone movies *coughandIlovethemtodeathcough*.

Yeah, I was also thinking that about the John Hughes movies. :)

The movies were great, but to me those clips also showed a lot of their shortcomings, as well. His point of view was shallow and immature. A lot of the things in his movies -- like the way he portrayed parents -- drove me crazy. But his movies were really entertaining and the Home Alone movies and Ferris Bueller were hilarious and also really touching. He was completely unique as a filmmaker. I can't even imagine my life back then without John Hughes movies.

. . . Judd Nelson looked really bad. But anyway, it's kind of sad that it took John Hughes' death to bring Ally and Molly and Judd and Anthony and John Cryer to the Oscar stage.

Vanity Fair this month (Hollywood issue) has a great article about John Hughes, by the way. Apparently he had a falling out with Anthony Michael Hall. Even though he planned the part of Ducky in Pretty In Pink for him, he ended up casting John Cryer. (John Cryer is a case of the critics going crazy for an actor - in that movie - predicting huge stardom -- but the audience didn't agree, I guess. But I digress.) He also ended up totally distanced from Molly for years. I think he somehow felt betrayed by her and AMH having a relationship.

And since this thread is usually about music, I just remembered that because of Molly Ringwald I was a big fan of the Rave Ups, back then. LA band. I think Molly's sister was dating the lead singer, Jimmer Podrasky. Anyhow, she plugged the band a lot, and I ended up buying their albums.

By the way, this Oscar show is super boring. I knew they were changing the "special Oscars" presentations to a banquet this year, so, there was no moving tribute to Lauren Bacall, for example. No speech by her. Ditto Roger Corman. These are the things on the Oscars that I actually enjoy the most. That, and the performances of the nominated songs. Martin and Baldwin were really funny at the top. It's been pretty boring since then.

I notice that this year they have gone back to saying "And the winner is..." which makes sense. Because the person is the winner. I never understood the change to "And the Oscar goes to..." But then Kate Winslet just went back to saying, "And the Oscar goes to... Jeff Bridges."

There are a lot of photos on KAO from back when he did the Idols tour in Little Rock.
Check 'em out. You can click in these to make 'em bigger. At last, a close up of the shirt Kris wore on tour.

Oh, yes these are the most boring Oscars ever. I am seriously dying here. It might have helped to have actually seen one of the movies.. lol

But, holy crap. This is deadly dull.

The Elton John Oscar party?? Wow. Awesome. Thank goodness Kris decided to move to LA. (Otherwise, he'd be home in Conway having pigs in a blanket and Coors with his friends watching the celebs on TV.)

Who is mrjoezee, again? He looks familiar.

I'll agree with half of that. The top looks great. When I saw the full thing, eh, not so sure.

Nobody looks worse than Kris when he dresses up. That picture with Katy ... it's hilarious. He's wearing wing tips with a tux! (I looked at it at 200%. Ha.) And what's with the bottoms of his pants?

Hee. Marc Malkin from E is sitting with Kris and tweeted about Kris's love for Jeff Bridges. :)

He does do casual way better.

Funny thing is, casual is much harder to do well than formal. Formal is pretty standard. Get a decent tailor and order a dress suit. Or go to a good men's store. Kris is a cheap bastard, that's what it is. Also, he doesn't really give a crap.

Did you see Kris's tweet about Jeff Bridges?
