You know, just...go away.

LOL.

Of course, I'm not a country fan myself and am almost wishing for another pairing, but it's for selfish reasons. Keith Urban has a lot of fans and he's a cute, nice, serious musician. I think for Kris, it's a winning pairing. And I think Keith is actually a bit like pop-country, and not pure classic country, no?

Looking at Top Idol. I'm listening to the Queerty radio interview with the kid who talks about having sex with Adam. Have you heard about this? Sooo boring! Nice kid but he likes to kiss and tell, I guess. In a very boring way.

By the way, when people on mj's blog talk about Kris being a twink, Kris is not a twink. Not that I'm an expert, but this kid, Chris Rushton, is the definition of twink, I think. Unintentional rhyme.

YouTube - Im Gay

Gary Morissette scares me. lol

TMI kid. Is that who mentioned sleeping with Adam (I'm out of touch clearly)

Gary Morissette scares me. lol

Really? He was one of my favourites. But then they eliminated him. curse you CI fans. I loved Mr. Bojangles sooooo much.

Okay Jay Leno. I remembered why I don't watch you and why I follow Conan on twitter and not you. He brought up the "Don't you think it's funny that the people on Idol who do the best don't win?" line of questioning.

Simon bit and said although he liked the winner, he thought Adam was a more rounded artist and should've won. Grr!

I'm still kind of surprised, not really in a bad way, but whatever, about Kris opening for K Urban, and Daughtry, both of whom are very mainstream. I guess Kris is mainstream enough to have a Top 40 hit, though. But I still think of him as a little more ... up to date, young, or something like that.

If this refers to Adam vs Kris, does Adam really do the best? I can't say that he's reached any real pinnacles. Any that Kris can't or won't. He's had exactly one US concert so far. I have more to say but I guess I'll hold off and spare you. ;-)

Well, this is no real surprise. Though I don't have a clue what he's talking about.

What is a more well rounded artist? Explain.

Anyhow, here's the same person who haunts mj's, haunting TWoP:

I was surprised to read that Kris is going to do some shows with Keith Urban, considering that the case was made very clear that Kris is not interested in doing Country music - when Mark Bright was suggested as someone Kris should have worked with. And even though Keith Urban has more of a country pop thing going, so does Mark Bright. I am just curious how Keith Urban's fans will respond, since Kris himself has said his musical genre is Top 40 pop and he doesn't want to do Country music.

I think the quote refered to who did the best on the show itself, no? Not that I agree. And I didn't expect Simon to say anything else than he did, so whatever.

I had to look up twink, lol. Had no clue what that meant.

I wasn't a fan of Gary really, but I'll always love the moment where he kissed Ben on the mouth, though. So funny!

I think I get what you're saying. I guess though that if Kris has to open for somebody, it has to be with somebody that's pretty big. It wouldn't really work to pair him with somebody too young or another newer artist. Did you have examples of who you could have seen him paired with? I thought about it and couldn't really find any, lol.

I didn't know what it meant until people (Glamberts) started referring to Kris as one. I mean, I'd heard the expression but I didn't really know what it meant. So I looked it up and found examples. I don't think it's especially a flattering term. Anyhow, I don't think Kris is the type.

I agree with what you said about who Kris needs to open for and why. Who was I thinking of? I guess I was thinking along the lines of The Fray, Kings Of Leon, Lifehouse, etc. But K Urban is huge. I can't complain at all.

I think the quote refered to who did the best on the show itself, no?

Not sure, but no, I thought he meant people who don't win do better in their careers. Maybe SleepinIn can explain.

Anyhow... Simon. Ugh.

I have to explain why Gary M. scares me. One reason is this:

YouTube - Merry Christmas from Gary

Actually, that's the main reason. And maybe that spike in his face.

But seriously, on CI, I kept hoping I'd like him, but I couldn't really adjust to him. I think he has a slight problem with being sincere; like he has to be kind of mocking, and it seems immature, to me. Also, I'm not a fan of his singing, really. I think he has stage presence, though.

Hee! and I thought that was hilarious. lol

Guess you're not alone *sob* I think he's really talented though - plus he's a killer guitarist.

(Okay Adam is still #1 on MOD - those are some serious voters)

I was trying to think about who would be a good tour partner for Kris too. It's hard! So yeah it's not a bad fit in my opinion.

Only one hour tonight, yay!

Three weeks, three Kelly Clarkson songs! I'm not hating on Katie, but she just doesn't stand out in any way. Maybe if this was still season 3 of AI. Now, she just paled in comparision for that song and I'm kind of hoping it isn't enough to put her in the top 12 since she obviously needs more experience.

Thanks for the V links -- will definitely watch later.

Just have to add about Gary, I hope I didn't sound over-critical. I was only kidding about his being scary. And about his persona, I just meant his "CI persona". How he is in real life, or with his band, Unknown Culprits, I have no idea. Glad you mentioned his guitar skills, I forgot. Hope he has luck with his EP!

I also think he didn't get a chance to show people who he is, on CI. It's weird, and I can't explain it, but we form pictures of whole personalities based on these minutes or seconds people appear on Idol shows. And it's possible to get a fairly accurate impression of some people in that time, while others need more time.

Okay, I'm live blogging......

#1. The first one, whatever her name is...

Bussed, deservedly so. But she might have gotten votes with her sympathetic little speech. She seems like a nice kid. But I agree with the judges.

#2. Siobhan.

She has some good theatre instincts. I think she held the audiences's attention. She held mine. I don't love Siobhan's voice. It's not a beautiful voice, to me, and whatever the quality of it is, it doesn't make me want to seek out more of her singing. But she's original, she's just herself, she isn't copying anybody. Which I'm beginning to love about her.

#3. Lacey.

I was actually gritting my teeth. There's a quality to her voice that is almost painful to me. I know that's said a lot, but in this case I mean it.

It's the night of the distracting stuff: Katie's ugly pants, Siobhan's lipstick that way too shimmery, Lacey's green (!!) nails...

I'm still not sold on Siobhan, but for me for you, that was my favorite performance from her. It was totally controlled and really well sang. I really liked it. I get now what you're saying ross about the mask-effect when she's singing, I heard it clearly tonight.

I honestly just can't really stand Lacey. She rubs me the wrong way and her voice is not pleasing to me. Was her performance better this week? For sure. I still want her gone.

#4. Katelyn Epperly. Who the hell is this? Has she been here before? Oh, I know who she is but she makes no impression on me week to week. She's "talented" but mediocre. I don't believe she feels the earth move under her feet or the sky tumbling down.

It's funny you said this, because I originally wrote something about that, then I deleted it because I said to myself, "I'm not going to harp on this, I'm the only one who thinks it." LOL!!

I forgot -- do you guys get to see the commercials with Kris? One just played, anyway.

What was that from Katelyn? I really really liked her performance last week and I do like her voice a lot, but that was just plain mediocre. And kind of old-fashioned. I had the same WTF? reaction about Didi's performance last week and this week, it's Katelyn. She should have been building on her momentum from last week, but she totally failed.

By the way, I STILL DON'T LIKE THE GENDER SPLIT. It's much more interesting to watch a mixed group competing. Also, I guess I just don't like the idea that there will be a Top 12 with 6 of each. It's arbitrary. But I guess, everything on this show is arbitrary.

#5. Didi

Thank you, Didi. That was beautiful, and what's nice about it to me is that I don't like that song and I don't like Stevie Nicks as a singer. But I loved that vocal and that arrangement. So I liked Rhiannon for the first time ever.

Ellen says: even if you win this competition you still have to put up with criticism (and you have to be tough). I thought of Kris. Did anybody else?
