Never mind what I said. Kris looks great. Elton looks like crap. Elton, get the name of Kris's tailor, dude.

I want Elton to be the new Simon.

Why? I read that a lot and I always want to ask why. Not that I'm against it. I just am curious why a lot of people want Elton to be an American Idol judge.

Exchange on TwoP:

Someone -- one of the multiple personalities -- said something about Kris not selling enough albums.

I think it's because he doesn't have the cougar (and older) fans that tend to buy multiple copies of their male idol's CD. Kris is gaining fans through pop radio listeners who skew much younger and are singles buyers.

Oh yes, popular idols like Clay, Cook and Archie etc do get the multiple CD buying cougar fans. Kris himself is a male idol isn't he? I wonder what about him that turned off the cougars.

A modern sound and vibe, plus a whole lotta luck.

I laughed out loud at the "whole lotta luck" line.

And yeah, Kris, especially, looks honestly happy and thrilled in that picture with Elton.
Did you ever think what his life must be like? He is really living the dream.

Oh, yeah, the Oscars were so long. I'm happy that the arrogant prick that is James Cameron didn't win. Can't stand him. I liked Avatar, but I'm happy that the Hurt Locker won... I'll just have to see it now, lol.

I laughed out loud at the "whole lotta luck" line.

LOL. That's funny.

I'm sure it's only the dress, but Katy almost looks pregnant in that picture from the party (not starting any rumors here, just an observation!).

He knows a lot about music, and the music business and wouldn't hesitate to give his opinion, plus he's funny and has the big name cache that might be necessary after the Simon vaccuum. He may not be any good at it, but I think he'd be interesting. I don't know if you've ever watched that show Elvis Costello hosted for awhile where he had music guests on and they talked about their music. It was fascinating, and Elton was one of the producers so I'd be interested in what he would advise the Idol kids.

I laughed at that exchange too regarding Kris and turning off the cougars. Cracked me up.

and I'm pretty sure that Katy didn't travel back in time to have those pictures taken. :) I think I did see them at one point, don't remember when though.

Someone tweeted this link for the V Channel thing yesterday and since we were all so fail. (pick the .wmv files)

Ooh! Kris will be performing barely 2 hours away from me... on September 4th! Opening for Keith Urban at the Champlain Valley Fair. That could be an interesting trip to make (well, not really for Keith Urban, but for Kris, yes!). It's still so far away though. September!

Well, I'm having doubts now about the show in Essex Junction. It's in a HUGE outdoors auditorium, the tickets are already on sale (and some of the best seem to already be gone), I can't plan that far in advance and the tickets are very expensive (like 90$ for the best tickets... which I would probably want to take, because paying 70$ to be far far far away from the stage doesn't really seem worth it).

ETA: Also, Keith Urban is the headliner. Not a fan really, I don't like country. If I liked the headliner, it would be more better, but now, it doesn't sound that interesting... maybe if I didn't have to travel and rent a car for it.

Wow, look at these prices. I'm amazed people would pay these prices when they can go to the original venue and get the tickets that way.

Keith Urban Tickets - Champlain Valley Fair, Essex Junction, VT

I'm not a country fan at all, but I like Keith Urban enough to see him if Kris happened to be playing also. But I probably wouldn't go to Vermont and pay 90 bucks for it. But who knows? If September rolls around and I need a Kris fix and some last minute tickets happen to be available, maybe I would go.

The thing is, it's a long way to go to see someone opening for someone else.

Just think in Asia it was $100 dollars a ticket. :) (kidding, kidding) :)

I'm glad Kris and Co. are getting some dates in the books anyway. And Keith will have lots of fans so it's going to be a good audience to play in front of.

(Holy Crap! $680.00 a ticket?!?)

How come the Gold tickets are cheaper than the red tickets? Am I missing something?

No idea. This seems like legalized scalping to me!

Last year apparently Brad Paisley and Dierks Bentley played the fair last year. Country acts seem to be popular there. And two years ago, A Prairie Home Companion broadcast from the same fair in August.

Opening acts don't always get mentioned. Plus they just announced it right?

Oh, I'm not complaining or saying that's bad! I was just looking for a mention of him and noting that there isn't one. I'm sure he was just added.

Ugh, that crazy sh-- stirrer on mj's is getting on my nerves. Why doesn't mj ban the creep? (Same creep as on TWoP.)

Kris and Keith Urban? Surprise pairing, especially when Kris has gone on record to say he is not interested in doing Country music. I wonder how Keith Urban’s fans will respond.

You know, just...go away.

Yeah, these high-priced tickets are not the real announced tickets. I have no clue why those tickets are sold at a price so high on that site, probably resellers. The second site that ross posted is where I found the information. Between 50$ and 90$ for a ticket. Still. If it was really 400$ for a ticket, there's absolutely no way I would even consider going!!

Last year apparently Brad Paisley and Dierks Bentley played the fair last year. Country acts seem to be popular there.

Yeah, I know somebody who's going to the show in Essex Junction (I saw her three times before, Matt N. in Montréal, Cook in Montréal and Cook in Albany). She actually lives there and she decided to go (for Kris and not for Keith). But she said that country is really popular there.

Anyway, I'll wait a bit before deciding, I haven't completely ruled it out. Plus, I've never been to Burlington and it's supposed to be beautiful, so it's a good reason to go!
