ETA: Oh, and there seems to be a third song written after The Truth on that sticker, no?
I wish! But I think it just says, "and more." I think that's all there's room for.
missaddicted, was it you who said (or was it someone else) that Cook's CD listed a couple of songs on the cover, like that, but that they didn't end up as the next single? So if David's second single wasn't ncessarily chosen far in advance, Kris's may not be, either.
They have so little time to create this album, and they need to have those stickers on the front. Maybe they just had to go with something.
I really hope these two songs are not future singles. They're not my favorites, but more to the point, I don't think they sound like huge hits. WAOMF is bland, to me. The songs Kris wrote are better.
With WAOMF you have another Script song. If Jive wants to release another Script song as Kris's second single, I'd like to know what theyr'e smoking. Not only are people waiting for him to release some of his own music to radio, but another Script song? That's crazy.
If that was the second single, I actually wouldn't even enjoy hearing it on the radio. That also goes for The Truth, which is like a 'typical' Idol ballad to me, and orchestrated like muzak. And not written by Kris.
Kris is becoming more and more himself, after Idol. We're seeing more of what makes him himself, musically. He has a certain something, an edge somehow mixed with sentiment, that I love and I think is better reflected in the songs he wrote himself. You're right,
SleepinIn, he's organic. The more Kris-like the songs he puts out are, the better he's going to do. Being himself is the key. He needs to define himself as an artist and the clearest way to do that is to do the songs that suit him best.
...Btw, I can't believe his mother and his bro named The Truth as their favorite song on the album. After he said he wanted to prove he's a songwriter.
