I'm alone in my office, so I just watched the two mash-ups videos. WOW! Blown away by Kris once again. These are absolutely fantastic.

Are there any MP3's out there? *wink wink*

ETA: Oh, and there seems to be a third song written after The Truth on that sticker, no?

ETA: Oh, and there seems to be a third song written after The Truth on that sticker, no?

I wish! But I think it just says, "and more." I think that's all there's room for.

missaddicted, was it you who said (or was it someone else) that Cook's CD listed a couple of songs on the cover, like that, but that they didn't end up as the next single? So if David's second single wasn't ncessarily chosen far in advance, Kris's may not be, either.

They have so little time to create this album, and they need to have those stickers on the front. Maybe they just had to go with something.

I really hope these two songs are not future singles. They're not my favorites, but more to the point, I don't think they sound like huge hits. WAOMF is bland, to me. The songs Kris wrote are better.

With WAOMF you have another Script song. If Jive wants to release another Script song as Kris's second single, I'd like to know what theyr'e smoking. Not only are people waiting for him to release some of his own music to radio, but another Script song? That's crazy.

If that was the second single, I actually wouldn't even enjoy hearing it on the radio. That also goes for The Truth, which is like a 'typical' Idol ballad to me, and orchestrated like muzak. And not written by Kris.

Kris is becoming more and more himself, after Idol. We're seeing more of what makes him himself, musically. He has a certain something, an edge somehow mixed with sentiment, that I love and I think is better reflected in the songs he wrote himself. You're right, SleepinIn, he's organic. The more Kris-like the songs he puts out are, the better he's going to do. Being himself is the key. He needs to define himself as an artist and the clearest way to do that is to do the songs that suit him best.

...Btw, I can't believe his mother and his bro named The Truth as their favorite song on the album. After he said he wanted to prove he's a songwriter.

I'm still standing by my prediction! We'll see if I'm right or wrong in a few months!

How many months?

Well, honestly, didn't mean to take exception to what you wrote. But considering the song continues to be added, continues to get more overseas play, continues to climb the mediabase and Billboard charts, has a video that seems to be doing well, climbed 50 points out of nowhere on iTunes, and the album is selling pretty well, too, it's kind of premature to say at this particular moment that the song isn't going to sell a lot. I mean, can't we be a little optimistic, since at this point the song seems to be getting more, not less, popular?

The TV promo for the album hasn't even started yet, nor have the Jingle Balls. And then there will be Kris's concerts starting in February. Promotion.

Yay! We're back!

I heard most of Alex's interview. They usually post them on their site though, so you should still be able to hear it. I love Alex, he really needs to be on TV or radio, he's hilarious. I missed the very beginning too though.

Look! It's Sebastian's Alien song with GLEE! :)

Yeah, it's too bad Sebastian isn't on twitter. I'd follow him. I tried following Mark Day last night. I'm not sure why except I was looking at somebody's twitter account who was following him and I thought "what the hell." Big mistake. If you want to read tweets about bodily functions, he's your guy. No thanks, I'm good.

I'm really annoyed with the billing in the Seacrest thing. (Rock My Town.) Not only is Adam billed first but he's featured first in the picture. Top billing for Adam, and the usual slight to Kris. F___ you Seacrest.

I was thinking it was wrong of Kris's mom to want to hog Kris and bring the concert to Little Rock, but you know what? I'm totally over that now. I hope Little Rock wins this thing. Is there any way I can vote for LR myself???

You can vote once per city per day. So yeah, you can vote for LR. (I think)

It just seems to me the whole demand the concert thing is just asking for trouble (fan wars). That's just me though.

I was listening to Kiss FM Buffalo this morning and they were talking about their Kissmas Bash that Kris is playing at. Then they played Kris's Heartless/Gangsta's Paradise mashup on the air!! It was very cool.

Just saw this.. need to test it.. lol :grommit:

I love :grommit: !

:grommit: Okay, you're ignoring my rant. (Not that I blame you.) But I'm not through. :grommit:

There's no advantage I can think of in placing Adam first in the advertising for this contest. Because it's not just random. People had to approve all the advertising, etc. Now if I could think of one good reason...but I can't. It won't make more people enter the contest. It serves no publicity purpose. It's just favoritism as far as I can tell.

I guess, I wasn't really expecting anything else from 19? Re: the marketing of Adam and Kris. So I'm not that disappointed by the way Jive is marketing Kris. I think they actually have done really well by him, and yeah the contest does put Adam to the forefront over the others, but it's like banging your head against a brick wall at this point.

It's pretty hard to ignore the fact that Adam was the one that the show wanted to win. I watched the year Chris Daughtry didn't win. I was a Chris fan, (I thought he deserved to win, and I wanted him to win) but the way they pushed Chris and didn't push Taylor pretty much told me all I needed to know about how much of a competition it really is in the end.

There's another point too. Adam is just naturally the OTT personality type, he's also older and more experienced in show business. He's been at this a long time in LA, he does have contacts of his own and I think those contacts are paying off too. Now that doesn't address why they put Adam out front on the contest, but 19 probably knows that Adam right now is the big name.. I mean I looked at a poster for the AMA's in Entertainment Weekly.. and Adam's name was listed way before Lady Gaga's!! (and it wasn't alphabetical either) The media has a case of Adam-itis.

and that picture is funny.. I saw that last night but I didn't know where it was from - is it from Kris's website?

AND Did you get your free download of the Sweater Song from Hedley? I've always loved that song. It's awesome and non-autotuney.

I'm listening to the two Adam tracks that MJ posted.

I think I liked the snippet of Whataya Want From Me (Whataya? WTF?)when I listened to them and I liked the song OK, since it's a typical pop-rock song and not a Broadway ballad or a despicable dance number, but I definitely put it in the "disposable" category for me. Like I'd listen to it a few times before never listening to it again.

I couldn't even get through Master Plan, that was awful. It sounds like Britney's last three or four singles (yes, they all sound the same to me). No, thanks.

Kris is on Conan tonight, who's excited?!?

I loved Whataya Want from Me. (I don't even remember what I liked from the snippits - they didn't excite me at all) Master Plan was very meh for me too, kinda bland. The beginning was good then it went nowhere for me. Whataya Want for Me is great though.

I keep spelling it watahya - lol Say what? :grommit:
(grommit kinda goes with everything - I love :grommit:)

and KRIS on CONAN!! Yep VERY, VERY, EXCITED!!!!! (I'm breakin' out the colours kind of excited!)

Haha! I almost also posted in colors too, I'm glad you did it!

I can't say really that I LIKED anything from the snippets, it's just that I remember liking/not hating the more pop-rock songs compared to the ballads and the dance songs. So, I assumed that Whataya was one of them. The whole song didn't convince me to buy it at all.

Me? I don't really listen to Adam any more. That's the great thing about the show and the tour being over.   Peace at last.

So I guess I can color you guys excited...?

LOL! I haven't listened to Allison's album snippets. Adam? Well, I don't feel obligated to buy any of his music, but I'm still a bit curious. Wasn't his music supposed to be ground breaking? Sorry, that was snark. Anyway, as of now, not convinced I'll want to buy anything from him at all.

So I guess I can color you guys excited...?

Nice!

SleepinIn, thanks for responding to my rant.

That's Mr. Lambert, to you. *snerk*

There was a discussion about something like this on mj's the other day -- a lot of people (Kris fans) who feel disgusted when articles and ads place Adam before Kris. It's not like people don't notice. Even a few Adam fans said it wasn't right.

But my point about the Seacrest thing is that it doesn't sell any more tickets. All their names are there, all their pictures are there. It doesn't matter who goes first except as a matter of giving the winner respect. So why not give him the respect? -- that's all I'm saying. It's perverse.

I forgot the other thing aside from the review of Kris's album in Entertainment Weekly (that I think ross linked to earlier) is that John Dore's show made the must list and the highlights of the week. I didn't even know it aired Stateside.

You mean the EW review by Whiney Pastorek? I don't think I linked to that -- I hated it.

("Whiney" -- I meant Whitney. I guess that was a Freudian typo.)

Jon Dore? I never heard of his show. That's good he's getting attention. he's quick, I kind of liked him on CI2 (not overly). I love that clip!
