It's just that I don't like that more and more people could read about it and say that Kris can't be original, that he's just using other people's discarded songs. I guess most people won't know about it, I just hope it won't spread too much and remains in the places that pretty much only the Idol die-hards visit!

From reading a lot, online, I know there are quite a lot of people who want to make Kris look bad one way or the other. Sometmes they're very subtle. I'm sure there are people who'll try to do that with this song. It's absolutely no big deal that this is a cover of an obscure song, but if you happen to see that it becomes a big deal, you'll pretty much have to assume those people had something to do with that. I'll leave it to your imagination who they are. In other words I don't think it's the average music fan who would care about this, but certain bitter people are likely to try to make an issue of it. Just as they try to make an issue of a lot of other non-issues where Kris is concerned. Blah-de-blah-de-blah.

Thank God it wasn't the Lenka song. That's not Kris's style.
Well, I wasn't implying that it would have been. Just that I already owned a song with almost the same title as Kris' single! And the message is similar for bth songs. I like the song by Lenka though, but her more upbeat songs are better.

I know you weren't implying that, what I meant was I found the song by her online and I was afraid it was going to be the song he was doing! And I was glad it wasn't! The Script song is better, I think. And it is funny the songs are so similar in their titles and meaning.

From Slezak's twitter:

EWMichaelSlezakA 19 rep confirms "Live Like We're Dying" is indeed Kris' lead single; official debut Monday, Sept. 21, 7:40 a.m. EDT on New York's Z100.

Yay!! I'm sure somebody will grab the whole song so that we will be able to listen to it also. Or maybe, I'll listen to the live stream online...

A lot of people seem to like the song. A lot talk about it being a cover. I say: you can't have everything all the time. Be all things to all people. Myself, if I were a record producer, I would absolutely choose to promote a new artist with the best song I could find. Bottom line.

Yep, I agree. A good song is a good song. I want good songs. That's all. And outside of Idol, that's all anyone wants.

I'm totally excited that Sleazak loves the song!! - He's had it since Tuesday without letting the cat out of the bag. I'm impressed! I don't mind that they mention the script because while I want Kris to have success, they did write the song, they also deserve credit. Plus it's better to be up front with the songs origins.

Did you guys see this interview with Kris?
YouTube - Kris Allen Interview with American Idol.com

and about the Monday release of the song - from his twitter it looks like Kris will be there. :)

and Adam won the wall of crazy.. Kinda wished he'd been one vote short so the Clay-mates could be the crazy fans. Ah, well -- it looks like the twitter people were a little overwhelmed by the epic battle. Lmao. Kris hung in there for 4th place and David Cook snuck past Taylor for 6th and Theo and Kalan hung in there for 8th and 18th. (now I can let it go.. lol)

Nice interview with Kris! (Hey, I wonder if after the tour we'll get some interviews without the background noise. That might be nice!) Kris is such a nice guy. It really comes through, there.

Twitter wall of infamy: Well, it does appear the Kalanadians and the Glamberts scratched each other's backs.

Haha. Kanye. Kanye is a fool but we must remember that without Kanye there would be no Heartless, and without Heartless maybe Kris would not be sitting on the Idol throne right now (like an emperor, being fed grapes by scantily clad slave girls). (OK, I made that last part up.)

You see, Kanye, you've really had a wonderful life. And every time a bell rings, an angel gets his wings. :angel8:

The good thing about the Kanye thing is you can add it to any website.. so yeah it cracks me up big time. Kanye is a complete idiot and it works for me to mock him. But, yes he did give us Heartless and did give Kris props for it by putting it up on his blog... he's got to work on being less of a clueless idiot though.

I just have total love for Kris. And in every interview he just comes across so well.

So do you think Kris forgot Wolfgang in Albany, or did he conveniently "forget" Wolfgang in Albany? lol

Ha, it's possible. I could see both happening.. the guys couldn't have anticipated that twitter would go bananas over Wolfie.

Actually leaving him behind created this mystique about him, (LMAO - if a clay skunk could have mystique.. he's a legend -- He only had on interview and yet, sang with Anoop, talked on the phone to his girl with Kris, put on make-up with Adam.. it's hilarious)

So do you still read the recaps on mj's blog, SleepinIn? The most recent ones are from people who traveled to Manchester from -- wherever -- to see Adam, and they aren't the best. Probably because the people are more fanatical than average if they went to all those concerts. I can't judge them, but even as a fan of another guy, who should be able to identify with their feelings, I can't. I don't think like them.

I think Adam should have won AI because the season belonged to him. Like his music or hate it, he was the reason so many of us watched week after week, the reason so many of us went to way too many concerts and spent way too much time on the internet. If AI wins an Emmy next week, that will be Adam’s first major award.

You know? Please.

*snerk*

I'm pretty sure Adam and Kris would have to fight their way through the production people to get remotely close to that award - even if Idol does win.

I've read a few for sure, and I read that one. I just don't see things the same way as they do - I can't deny Adam made an impact, but that still doesn't change the fact that he didn't win. And that drives them CRA-ZY.

Truthfully, I would have been fine if Kris hadn't won (and I can say that -- cause he did - lol) but no really. I just can't see myself posting on every article about Adam that Kris should have won. I liked them both, and finding out they both are actually wonderful human beings was a big plus.

To me the season really belonged to all three of them, Kris, Adam and Allison. All so different and yet really great, and genuine talent.

With starring roles for the rest of the bunch, who also showed they were fun and sweet and talented in their own ways, although not quite ready yet for the big stage, their potential is still there.

I forgot to ask.. what did you think of the Hedley video? I'm not a big fan of the goofy video but Jacob in his CI Bowie clothes made me laugh.. the song is growing on me have to admit - especially the end.

You put things really well, SleepinIn. I think I've mentioned that a few times before, but it's true. :)

I don't know how I would have felt if Kris hadn't won, but I think I would have been cool with it. I like Adam okay, though not as much as you, but the thing is, I would have just accepted the reality. Especially four months later.

But I don't get people who can't share credit. For the season, the Emmy nom, whatever.

Funny, isn't it, how Kris being laid back, willing to share credit, downplay himself, seems to play into the "he didn't deserve it" arguments? He seems so cooperative with his detractors. But this actually is what makes him so unstoppable, I've begun to realize.

I didn't see this part of your post until just now. I forgot to watch the video. I'm going to do it, now. (God, this cottage is freezing. Maine. Yeah. Pretty, but cold, compared to Mass.)

Aw, thanks Ross that's really nice of you to say. You have a way with words yourself. I'm proud to call you my homie ;)

Yes, reality.. it's awesome. They should try it sometime.

EXACTLY! It takes nothing away from Adam to say that Kris is good, it takes nothing away from Kris to say that Adam is good.

But this actually is what makes him so unstoppable, I've begun to realize.
I think so too. There is something really, really special about Kris. And before I canonize him or something - cause seriously - I don't think I could like him more at this point - he's just really self-deprecating and is the first to admit his faults or when he's having issues. I admire that. He's his own secret weapon. Being underestimated is a really good thing for Kris. IMHO

So, I could go look for Wolfgang when I go to Clifton Park in three weeks? Maybe us three could make him do crazy things.

Hey! Just got back from the Regina Spektor show. I loved her. She's so sweet and full of grace that you can't help but love her. The crowd went crazy for her! I think she must've said thank you and merci at least 100 times! I love her voice, it's so rich, without being a typical "big" voice. Her voice has so many nuances and textures, the way she uses it is so beautiful. She's a bit theatrical too, but not in a Lady Gaga kind of way. Her music is theatrical I guess, she likes to add dramatic moments in her songs. Her lyrics are a bit childish, but I really like all of her quirks.

Also, there was a cute moment. The guy standing besides me for most of the show had flowers in his hands, that I correctly assumed were for Regina. Towards the end of the show, he made his way to the stage and gave them to her. The crowd was cheering, it was really cute.

I'm so glad to be tall for those general admission shows. There were a couple of really short girls behind me at one point, they must've hated me!

Right back at ya. :) But in the end it's still so lonely. lol

I guess I just have to say I agree with all of this. As a guy I'm kind of inspired by him. I don't usually feel that way at all about celebs. He's a regular guy but he has a spiritual side that I think is really strong, and he has a philosphy he seems to live by. I don't know, he's just a cool guy.

Hedley...something rubs me the wrong way about the song and video. If they were outsiders mocking what they aren't a part of... but they're sort of mocking the...never mind, I don't know what I'm trying to say.

Blue jumpsuit! Holy crap. And the bulge, too. Was Dave Rosin supposed to be Paula?
