Yeah, I kinda like the guy. Something about him.... (hee-hee)

And in Hedley news.. their video premiere tomorrow on MOD. I've been seeing a lot of Hedley fan tweets from outside of Canada lately...

Wow, interesting (about the fans). That's a video for a different song than Cha-Ching, right? Wait, that doesn't seem right. But didn't Jacob tweet they were premiering a video for a different song?

Ain't No Sunshine, from last night...take a look at this, missaddicted. lol

YouTube - Kris Allen, Ain't No Sunshine, American Idols Live 2009, Manchester, NH

So last night I posted on the concert thread on mj's blog. (Yeah, I know. I was in a good mood, I guess. Ha.) I wanted to thank them, because they hunt down so many good links, and tweets, really. I also made fun of myself because I commented for the first and only time on Adam's hairdo. I said I had finally cracked. Anyhow some of them thanked me for my posts about Kris and said they enjoyed them. "Well, most of them. lol" And welcomed me to the 12 step Adam recovery program. lol

This is just 8 minutes of photos of Kris doing meet and greet and signings. Watching this, all I could think was: I still can't believe they didn't come out in Boston. I think it was only one of two places they didn't on the whole tour.

Syracuse...the user, Adam mega-fan "suz", wrote: "Kris Allen performs All These Things That I Have Done in Syracuse. Kris is the consummate performer - despite being ill, he gives 110% - yay, Kris!!!"

This song ended up being one of my favorites of his set!

YouTube - Kris Allen All These Things That I Have Done Syracuse September 14, 2009

Curtainless, in Glendale, Arizona:

YouTube - Kris Allen All these things That I've Done Glendale AZ 7.20.09

You're right, SleepinIn, that curtain served no purpose. I see a lot of changes since back then! His voice sounded better then, since he wasn't sick and/or exhausted, but he sings the song so much better, now. (Wonder if we'll ever hear him sing any of this stuff again?)

ACK!!! I heard a song snippit.. and I think I'm gonna like it. It's definitely the Script song though. They sound pretty much the same - I recorded it :) but it didn't work :( (crap) but it's here through the tech folk at ONTD_AI

And this is a super great interview with Kris, really relaxed and focused more on the future.

105.5 JYY

Keep watching for Lil - she calls Kris her poo-poo.. lol. So sweet.

Oh, I'm kind of disappointed. Not that it's The Script's song, but that it's sounds so much like The Script!!! The singer of The Script has a pretty distictive voice, so when I listen to the snippet, I can hear his voice over Kris' voice.

Don't get me wrong, I like the song (don't love it yet, I'll need the whole song sung by Kris before completing my judgement), but I can't get the other guy's voice out of my head! And it's not because I listened to their version that many times either, it just sounds so similar to the stuff that they have on their own album that I can't help it!

Yeah, I may have an advantage there since I'd never heard of the Script before Kris's song was leaked as a song of theirs so I have no real notions of what they really sound like.

Just listening to it cold (that vital 20 seconds - lol) it does sound like a straight cover - which isn't exactly what I wanted for his first single either. But, I do like the fact that it's an upbeat song that I can easily see Kris singing and playing during promo at radio stations. (I'm so mercenary - I want radio play)

Yes, I do like that it's upbeat also. Very much! And I like the weird guitar (is it guitar, it sounds a bit country, but not really) at the beginning of the song that also seems to be in Kris' version. Well, you hear that guitar all through the song, but it's more clear in the beginning.

Thanks SleepinIn for the interview, it was really nice!

ross, I watched the Ain't No Sunshine video and the "Kris in Adam's jacket" video, they were awesome, thanks for posting them!

LOL - maybe he's left for vacation? Are you watching GLEE? That's where I've disappeared to.

I'm thinking about the single and I think I'm really happy about their choice. If it couldn't be something that he wrote on, and I'm thinking it couldn't because he just didn't have the time to do that. Then this is a good choice. It's not a well known song, but it has the potential to do really well on radio, and it's something that's doable if he's playing accoustically at radio stations for promo, It's catchy, and yes upbeat. I like the energy and it has a message and you know Kris is all over that.

He mentioned that they haven't recorded any intruments yet, so I think he still has a lot of work to be done for the album.

My other worry was that it would sound un-kris like and it actually does sound like Kris. So that's also good..

Without saying goodbye?:-(

Yes, that's a good point, it does sound like Kris. Not just a meaningless pop song with no heart!

I just watched Glee! I LOVE that show! And there even was a "Yentl" reference in the episode! I never would have understood it and you and ross hadn't talked about it. I hate Will's wife so much though, maybe even more than the Cheerios' coach, but I think we are indeed supposed to hate her.

Tomorrow night, I'm going to see Regina Spektor live. I'm excited, I love her vibe and her voice, it should be really good.

Okay, so who got a hold of the single, and how did they?

It's a pretty good song and I hope it's a hit. The only problem I have is I'd prefer a more Mraz/Nathanson arrangement where the voice doesn't sound like it's gone through a production process. More acoustic-sounding. Like Brand New Shoes. He really doesn't need anything else.

Seems people are making way too big a deal about this being a 'cover.' Isn't a cover generally a song heavily associated with a performer or band? So that when you cover it, everybody knows the original? Doing a version of an unknown song that never got wide release, that's different (to me, anyway).

As for The Script, they're not exactly U2. I mean, in terms of being famous. (I see they're going to be on an episode of Beverly Hills 90210 next month, by the way).
