Okay, I listened to the show on YouTube (AT40). Yeah, the order was odd! I also think they must have taped this a while ago, since Adam's twitter name is no longer TheRealGlambert. I think he changed it at least a week ago.
It was okay. They're good together. Most of the twitter and phone questions were for Adam. Like, ten to one. Does Adam have ten times more fans? It leaves you with that impression. Seriously, none of Kris's fans called, or tweeted? Come on. He has fans. Doesn't he have five fans who could tweet five questions? What the hell.
Ross did you see the other speculation from today? There was talk on TWOP and IDF about them releasing Heartless to radio as the single which kind of gathered steam as Kris ditched NB for the show today. How do you think Heartless would do radio wise across the country? I'd really like to see it happen I know it isn't his own single but it's way better than NB and people seem to really like it outside of idol land.
Was this something people heard was really going to happen? I like the idea. It's a good cover version, radio friendly, and his vocal is great. It should be popular. I don't think it will take impact from his album, or the first single from the album. .
I don't think it will be judged as a "first single." I know how all-important the sales of that first single are. But it's already on the radio anyway. So why not promote it more, and get it even more play?
Anyhow, isn't NB Kris's first official single?
I brought something up on mj's blog yeaterday about that. Since Kris's and Adam's singles of NB were both released to radio and they both charted, isn't NB Adam's first single, also? Not just Kris's? I was told: No, because Kris's version was promoted and Adam's wasn't. The record/radio business baffles me totally.
Since you were talking previously about how Kris's NB didn't do too well,
missaddicted, I wonder how any of the past winner's singles would have done if they had to compete with another verion of the same song released at the same time? I think in the case of NB we'll never know how sales of Adam's affected sales of Kris's. Or radio play. If you want to know how well NB really did, I honestly think you have to combine the numbers for Adam's and Kris's versions, then assume those numbers would be more or less the numbers Kris's version would have had, had there been no Adam version to compete with.
Worldwide, some stations have both versions in their top 10 right now. So you have to figure Adam's version is taking plays and sales away from Kris's. Why AI chose to release both I don't know, but it's unfair and it's never happened before, as far as I know. it was bound to make Kris's version chart lower, if you ask me.
I read the recap of Sacramento on mj's blog by somebody who met Kris, but didn't get his set list totally right, and also gave the impression he didn't play piano on Bright Lights. In the comments, she said she couldn't remember, but thought he didn't, and that he played guitar. I nearly had a coronary. Went rushing to YouTube to make sure he didn't change anything. Phew. He didn't.
Actually falling asleep, here. Must...post...this...now...
