FaberDrive's first album was better, though.

Really? /skeptic (LOL - sorry)

Oh, and is there any way to make Nigel Lythgoe shut the f*ck up? Seriously.

Nope, if you watched SYTYCD you'd see that Nigel yaps the whole way through the season. But that cracks me up since he's always putting his foot in his mouth. I like him he'll give out info which is actually interesting, and not press release-y. He doesn't hold in his opinions though. I don't always agree with the guy but he's interesting.

Putting Simon down is petty, but it's not like Simon can't take it. He's slung more than a few arrows of his own over the years. Simon took a lot of credit for Idol over the years, which I don't think he really deserved. But it will be interesting to see how this all shakes out. Because although Steven/Randy/Jlo have been good so far, doesn't mean it's going to continue for the season. "Season of the Girls" anyone?

I think that's a great pop (or, pop punk, supposedly) album, but you know me, I'm weird.

You know way more about Nigel than I do, but as for TPTB, in general - last year AI gave Simon a warm send off. So to denigrate him once he's not there, no longer necessary to the success of the show, seems incredibly two-faced - on principle. I'm sure it's all a game to these people. Now the show vs. their previous performers - that's unprofessional. They made the show. Inspired people to vote in the millions. Except in maybe (let's say, being generous) 20 cases, the show got the best of the deal, from these performers. A lot of people were paid scale to perform on a show that made millions, and have little to show for it now. They deserve thanks and respect, no ifs ands or buts. Another reason I find the powers behind the show questionable.

The Brits really have a different style of show business and a different type of media - sometimes extremely nasty. I never liked them trying to introduce that style of publicity here. I do think most of what Nigel says is just for publicity, and I think he'd love to introduce a mud-slinging feud between Idol and X factor and for Simon to rise to the bait. But it obscures the fact that Idol is mostly hype and not enough substance. I'd love it if they shut up and went to work improving the show.

Fair enough, I haven't listened to it really, I've only heard the songs that hit the radio. So I need a good car... :)

It is, It's all about publicity. Which isn't a bad thing, people will hate on him, hate on Simon, but they'll watch and fall for the "kids". Simon and Nigel have to know that they're going to get a strong reaction from the things they say, that's why they say them. They want that

Anthem from the stands. Who was #18?

Peyton Manning.

:hello2:Explanation of "piahcf". The forum won't let you edit a post after an hour, but if no one else has posted, you can post something and it will be added to the bottom of your last post, and you will also be able to edit the post. So I just typed any old thing, to open the post up again to edit it. Also, I cut the line about listening to Faber Drive in the car, so I made your post meaningless! Sorry. Seven Second Surgery has a lot of production on the album and there are notes that swoop from one speaker to another, and stuff like that. That's why you need to listen to it on good car speakers! (Or good headphones, maybe.) The songs really do sound totally different that way.

So what was the producers' apology Ryan tweeted about? Did I miss it? I guess I missed the beginning of the show.

Peyton Manning.

:) Aw, nice. He came right over to Kris.

Explanation of "piahcf"

LOL - I was wondering what you were talking about - some new acronym that I've never heard of maybe..

Tonight's show.

I liked the last guy with his scatting, and lovey couple (although, if they break up I won't cry... too cute to deal with on a regular basis) Cowboy guy.. eh..

Thought they were way to easy on the youngin' who cried. (no tears for gold tickets!) She was pitchy dawg.

I didn't see the apology thing, I must have missed it.

Crying young-un was waaaay pitchy and her voice was pretty unpleasant, anyway. No honey in that voice, no how. I really didn't watch this episode. I had it on, but I got distracted. There was that high-talker guy (with the sister who sat in with the judges). Jennifer complimented him on his runs, but that's actually what I kind of hated about him. Then the kid who sang Sunday Morning near the end was pretty good (was he part of the cute couple?)...

I was thinking today about all the comments a couple of weeks ago, on how the pattern of the winning guitar guys of the past 3 seasons has resulted in no superstars. So they aren't going to allow as many instruments this year, and so forth. But why focus on these guys when the previous winners - Jordin, Taylor - aren't superstars, either?

They apologized for Steven Tyler's behavior last week. Still not sure if the apology was a joke or not. It pretty much seemed like a joke to me.

Yes. the guy who sang Sunday Morning was part of the lovey-dovey couple. I kind of liked both of them, but the cute factor is way too much for me! The guy at the end was good too. Not only did he look like Seth Rogen, he also kind of looked like Canadian singer Dan Mangan. Cowboy guy was kind of cute... too bad he must only sing country music.

ETA: Okay, that dude at the end, Casey Abrams, might be my early favorite. Bonus that he kind of looks like Dan Mangan. I read a certain thread on a certain blog that may or may not be about him and I also saw some comments there from ross. Not necessarily my favorite type of music (the music he usually seems to be doing), but he'll probably have to diversify on Idol.

I can't remember what I said about him, if I said anything about him, on a blog that may or may not be about Idol, that I may or may not post on. I may or may not have said he has charm and personality, if I ever saw him before, which I may not have.

I didn't see his audition tonight, what did he sing? He seems to like jazz and standards. Also, he seems to have studied at Idyllwild (I think I mentioned this in that other post, elsewhere, that I may or may not have written), which happens to be near where one of my aunts lives in California, in the mountains above Palm Springs.

Somebody wrote this about him on VFTW:

I went to school with him at Idyllwild Arts. He's definetly not 24 though, he's either 19 or 20. He was always very serious about his work and he also has a really great personality. He's freakin hilarious too! I remember this cool music video him and our friend Josh made together. It was all made out of vidoes of common sounds, like shutting a door and rapping on the blinds, but it came out awesome. It was so cool recongnizing him on the commercial I was buggin out. Hope you all can see how talented he really is and base your votes off of that and not on something so one-dementional as his looks.

MJ has the videos in her post for tonight's show, so you can see it there!

Seriously! I'm not sure why they even bothered to air that episode. So useless!

The only good news is that Hollywood week will actually start next Thursday, instead of the week after. Only one audition episode left!

I blame the new nights, this season.

Well the auditions for me are always a bit boring, I do usually like Hollywood week though.

Audition episodes are boring because of the same format for years. I guess they're afraid to be more creative and original, but the formula is really tired. I can't believe they don't experiment more. Sad.

[I'm listening to this Kris interview on "Unleashed." Ugh, this show. These hosts. Forty-four minutes of my life I'll never get back. Kris shouldn't do this stuff. It'd be better if he did nothing. That really sucked the life out of me.]

You're right - when they get to Hollywood things will probably get more interesting.

Totally amateur. After I heard these people originally, the night he couldn't make it, I wasn't sorry he skipped it.Tonight reminded me of those rambling VFTW interviews. (Like with Mark Day.) Something about it reminded me of Howard Stern, also; I guess because he doesn't actually interview people, either. It's just rambling. Aimless, meandering chit chat and stupid comments.

YES! Rambling, no cohesive thought. I mean after the first interview was canceled they had a week to get questions - and they got good ones - so why not write them down and ask Kris them? There's loose and freewheeling interviews and then there is that awkward mess. The teenager in his bedroom had a better interview to be honest.
