I like Kesha's song Tic Toc (kind of sick of it now honestly, but no wonder) .. but #1???????? What the hell Canada? What. The. Hell.

Looking at that list though - that's pretty much all radio played year. Lather, rinse repeat. Yep you're right missaddicted no matter if I like the music or not, we need a wider variety of music - that's depressing.

Hedley is the lone Canadian act on the top ten too. That's also depressing - there's some amazing music out there that's not getting played as much as Kesha.

But yay for Kris and Adam and the rest.

Lee's rant to the Santa Rosa Idol blogger - you guys never commented. I thought it was pretty cool.

Which brings me to Hedley on that list. Whatever you think of Hedley's music they create a lot of it themselves - the basics of it, anyway - they're involved in the creative processes. They play instruments. When people win a chance to hear them perform on their tour bus, they can perform. they don't need autotune and synthesizers and production. I don't know about everone on that list but I'd love to see Kesha try to sing for her fans on the tour bus.

Those were fun interviews! Thanks!

Apparently that jacket is fashionable in Japan.

Thanks for that picture, too.

Tsk, tsk...I've told you guys so many times that Kris's high fashion jackets are by Junya Watanabe for Comme Des Garcons (a Japanese designer).

Actually it was the jacket he wore in the Slezak interview I kept telling you about, but I think that designer provided him with a wardrobe. he's worn the stuff on the Idol finale and at the MSG Jingle Ball last year. The designs are usually asymetrical (or something). Can't wait for Kris to show up in some of this stuff: Junya Watanabe | Selectism.com LOL!

From Hedley's Rochester show - they helped with the clean-up apparently.

I don't get it - did they serve food??

It's almost our two year anniversary around here. Dec 21 is the day. Get ready for fireworks, hot dogs, and dancing in the streets! And if you're really good, we'll have mashed potatoes! And Gummi Worms!

Curious about sirk nella's epocsoroh? You came to the right place.

Shhhh don't tell him, LOL. ;)

Wherever their ranked though, it was a good year for them both.

I just opened the Dec 17th issue of Entertainment Weekly and they have an itty bitty picture of Hedley on pg. 4 under the heading Canada rocks. They talk mainly about Fefe Dobson - but they mention Hedley too. I guess they played the EW lounge in LA together. Kinda threw me off. LOL

This is new I think ?? Parts of it?? (can you tell I'm not sure - lol)

Kris Allen - Where are they now - American Idol

Yes, SleepinIn, that's a new promo.

I'm following the San Francisco Goo Goo Dolls concert. The full Hedley band is there. I thought it would just be Jacob and Dave. So I guess the full band will be in Santa Rosa tomorrow, too. Kris/Cale/Torres are playing an acoustic set. It is what it is, but again I want the full band there - for this type of show. I know Ryland is on tour but I wonder if they could have done it with another drummer. They need to be competitive when the two other acts have full plugged in bands. Of course, the acoustic set is, in itself, attention-getting. And they always do a great job. However it's very different from opening for Lifehouse - doing Come Together in the audience, etc. What's funny is that despite this being a Jingle Ball, it's really a 'Goo Goo Dolls w/Kris Allen' concert. So I feel it should be a similar set-up to Lifehouse.

Kris is doing acoustic Christmas songs. I don't know...it doesn't seem to fit. Oh, well - beating a dead horse.

LOL Ross. I would have liked a full band too - but whatever. Kris has an amazing voice, and really people know him a lot more than they do Hedley in the US. I wouldn't worry so much. It's not like those people at the concert really knew Hedley's music from the videos being played. They're a new entity in the US.

It's good for Hedley to be introduced to a wider US audience and it's good for Kris too. I think if anyone could pull that off - acoustic between two bands it's Kris. I have no doubts about that.

Tonight there will be a LOT of Kris fans in the audience which is difference from the Goo Goo Dolls show last night.

OH!! And MOD has a new name. It`s going to be New Music Live. New hosts, etc. starts Monday.

Lost my post!! What I covered:

That's interesting about MOD. I was wondering if they were history. (What was wrong? Were the ratings low?) Anyhow, MOD or whatever they call themselves now (Planet Fierce North, perhaps?) are still on my sh*t list. LOL!

These days when everyone can look at videos online (unlike when these shows began) maybe that type of show is becomingf obsolete?

Kris acoustic between GGD/Hedley full band sandwich:

I agree he's the one to pull that off. I think my response was due to: having seen Kris/Cale last summer acoustic when Goo Goo Dolls headlined, and having seen Kris and KAB opening for Lifehouse - I think that, in a fairly large venue, opening for a full band, Kris having a full band himself just works better. But it's a moot point now!

I provide you this in defense of my point. He had that audience in the palm of his hand.. spellbound.

YouTube - Kris Allen - Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas - Star 101.3 Jingle Ball - 12/10/10

But yes, I get your point. For a Large venue - full band would be my preference too.

CTV bought them a few years ago and they do things very differently than CHUM did. CHUM was very seat of the pants - CTV is definitely not. Plus they redid the studio to be HD ready and the hosts they had were crappy. IMO. So they shook that up. We'll see what they're like when they return. And your right - with videos online - that isn't something they're really interested in anymore. They reduced their broadcast license from 24 hours to 18 hours a day and wanted to reduce the # of videos they play - since they don't really play them all that much - I don't know what they were crying about. It's basically the Gossip Girl station at the moment. It used to be such a good station. Not so much nowadays. Is it so much to want them to provide music programming even if they don't play videos?? LOL

Well, it sounds a lot like what happened to MTV (here). Thanks for that info.

I was also just talking about the show, MOD. I meant maybe a show like that is no longer relevant. Wonder what the new show will be?

So I'm following the Santa Rosa tweets. The guy playing second (apparently without his band) just tweeted:

"About to take the stage before @hedleyonline and @KrisAllen. What a great group of guys. I'm honored to play this show."

So now I have to worry I mean wonder all over again if Hedley is playing full-out band, prior to Kris acoustic. I don't know why I blame Hedley. I kind of blame Kris. If blame is the right word. Maybe he can just pay his band guys himself, to do these few shows? I believe Ryland is somewhere out of the country, though. That's another thing - he needs to get a commitment from Ryland, or something. Hedley is quite a force to be reckoned with, and opening for Kris their set will be longer tonight.

I hope they jam, for an encore. I wish that would happen. Do you think so?

LOL. The only thing I watch now on Much Music is... Gossip Girl. It's not airing anywhere else! But yeah, I get what you're saying. I spent a big part of my teenage years watching Musique Plus/Much Music. Nowadays? Well, I watch Gossip Girl on Much, LOL.

These concert threads really screw with my time. Here it is 12:30 am. I have so much to do. Need to clean up the kitchen!

Weird - I just noticed Krinjalists is following Jacob.

Well, the Kris fans didn't really seem to like the last two bands.

Hedley, on the other hand - should pick up new fans tonight.

What's Gossip Girl? I know I should know.

Hedley will do six songs.

Gossip Girl is a TV show about the spoiled lives of rich college students (they were in high school when it started) living in the Upper East Side in NYC. It's far from the best TV show ever, but it's my guilty pleasure.

Maybe Krinjalists is following Jacob in case he tweets about Kris? (Did he tweet about Kris? I don't know, I don't follow him.)
