Okay - Gossip Girl. Thanks. Women online are always talking about it.

Maybe Krinjalists is following Jacob in case he tweets about Kris? (Did he tweet about Kris? I don't know, I don't follow him.)
Yes, I agree - I think that's why they're following Jacob. To me it just seems weird because in my mind Jacob somebody that, in the US, only I am supposed to know about. lol.

Slight exaggeration, but other than a kid I knew at the local farmstand (who has since moved to London) who saw Hedley when he went to MOD (when he was going to collge in Toronto), I've never known anyone who had heard of Jacob.

It's just weird to me to see other people in the world, outside Canada, recognizing the existence of Jacob. It's kind of like he was imaginary before and now he's real. lol

Why do people posting on MJ's blog just repeat the tweets on the twitter list? lol - so annoying. I can read.

It's just Jake and Dave tonight. (I still give them credit for smarts for having the full band there last night. Broken record, I know, but it was a good move.)

The twitter list in not overly enamored.

LOL. The only thing I watch now on Much Music is... Gossip Girl. It's not airing anywhere else! But yeah, I get what you're saying. I spent a big part of my teenage years watching Musique Plus/Much Music. Nowadays? Well, I watch Gossip Girl on Much, LOL.

LOL - well, I don't really blame Gossip Girl - it's just on ALL the TIME. LOL. I watch Vampire Diaries on Much so I'm all over the guilty pleasure angle.

Jacob somebody that, in the US, only I am supposed to know about. lol.

LOL - it's weird for me too. :)

There were some positive tweets though. I saw them. Someone bought their albums so that's good. And it's a good thing the rest of the band wasn't there.. did you see the size of the stage? They'd be on top of each other. I wonder what Andrew's up to? Dudes elusive.

The positive tweets came later, yeah. Won't those people be surprised when they play the Hedley CDs they bought to discover they're pop punk? Most of the Kris fans are tweeting sh*tfaced. Why are they all drunk? Would you travel from far away to see a Kris show and then get loaded before he plays? I wouldn't, honestly. Of course, I'm old, and an old fart.

I don't know what Andrew is up to - I'm guessing session work. That's what he did before he met up with Kris and he's probably in demand in LA. If he isn't, he should be!

But I missed him on The Christmas Song. Cale was okay but it's the difference between very good and somthing like great. No offense to Cale. Andrew is just awesome.

Isn't it weird...or cool...or wierd...that Kris and Hedley are playing a Jingle Ball/Chrismas Concert/whatever in this little bar in Santa Rosa, California? I mean, it kind of makes no sense! lol

What's even wierder to me is that I've been to this town. I don't know why that strikes me as weird. I guess it shouldn't. BTW, a very famous Hitchcock film was shot there: Shadow Of A Doubt.

LoL - can you imagine? But Trip and Gunnin are always great.

It's not like they haven't seen him before though - the ones that were drunk tweeting were at a number of shows and I think it was more of a meet-up /celebrate the last-ish show kind of thing.

I was hoping for at least a picture of Jacob and Kris together. Or a tweet. Guess not.

I'm sure you've all seen this but it is awesome and so bears repeating.

YouTube - Kris Allen - Gangsta's Paradise

I guess so. You know, I like Kris about as much as I can like any performer - and I spend all this time on him - but these girls are something else. I don't know how they do it. In many ways I actually think Kris is worth it - just as I think Jacob is worth it. These guys just give their all, every freakin' show. I love them for it.

A Canadian Glambert tweets:

runawaysu@finnisheyes You got that right! What is wrong with America? Hedley has mega hits uncer his belt, WTF does Kris Allen have? SO WRONG!!!

runawaysu Are you friggin serious? Hedley opened up for Kris Allen? LMAO! Um, Hedley is 1000 times better than Kris could ever dream of being! WTF?

Also, somebody tweeted a couple of days ago that they saw Kris and Hedley headed into the Tonga Room. Haha~! This is a bar in the Fairmont Hotel in SF that has been there since the 40's and the decor has never changed.

PS. Can someone pls PM me the password so I can watch that live stream from last night? Thx.

Bill Pinella, I take back whatever bad things I ever said about you.

It really does. :) :) :)

I was hoping for a tweet or something too. LMAO. It was worlds colliding. LOL

I don't know how they do it.

Me either. But I kind of love them for it. I don't have the energy.

You can't worry about these people. There is a certain lack of logic happening that no amount of explaining is ever going to help.

It's more that I found it amusing (though all such stuff makes my blood boil, at first). Because, if you think about it, the only difference from the usual rant was that Hedley was substituted for Adam as being the superior entity. (And I was fairly sure this would happen.)

Lack of logic, or provincialism, I don't know which - Hedley's multiple hits mean nothing here, since here they have 0 hits here. And (since they like to compare twitter followers so much) Kris has 200,000 followers vs. Jacob's 30,000.

But since the person seems to be corresponding on twitter with a other certain person who raises poison dart frogs, I think we needn't worry about logic.

As for lack of tweets -- a few positive words from Jacob would have resulted in more Hedley fans being interested in Kris. You know how fans are. Lost opportunity, there. And, I suppose, vice-versa, had Kris said anything on twitter about Hedley. Thing is, in my opinion, Jake and Dave are somewhat calculated in their responses. "Is it in our best interests, or not, to mention Kris Allen?" Is he important enough? Do we want to be associated with Idol winners? Like Jake's comment to the crowd about playing soft rock. It sounded somewhat snide. (Not that I was there.) Know the comment I'm referring to?

LOL - yes, I heard of that too. Dave mentioned Kris though, I don't think he knew Kris's twitter name and you know Kris didn't know Hedley's - he makes twitter names up half the time. I just think they both were busy meeting and greeting. There are a ton of photos posted on the stations Facebook with them meeting fans. (not that I was there either)

Provincialism yep. Hedley may be a platinum selling artist here, but that doesn't mean anything in the US market really.

I'm not sure Hedley gained many new US fans TBH. It's weird that the radio station did the Jingle Ball in such a small bar.

Well, all acts will make new fans at things like this.. unless they're horrible - which they're not. ;) It's not like suddenly a a 1000 people will buy the cd. Things don't work like that. It's a one fan at a time kind of thing. That's what they did here, and that's what they'll have to do there on a much larger scale. It's grassroots. I remember BNL talking about building their fanbase in the US and they said that they just had to keep going back and playing in different markets.

I was surprised that Lee wasn't playing the Fox New Year thing too though.

Hedley isn't necessarily trying to make fans. They're trying to introduce themselves in the US. They're just trying to establish themselves. Don't you think that's more what it's all about? It's very hard to make actual fans by performing only a few songs. But now a lot more people in the US know who Hedley is. Because Hedley is basically unknown here.

Earlier - maybe a year and a half ago? - they tried to introduce an album here - it was a compilation of their first two - they tried to get Old School played as a single - it was in a few of those radio challenges (including, I think, Radio Sophie). They played some clubs. Several years ago they toured here with Yellowcard. They were signed to Capitol in the US for a while. Nothing came of that. So now they're here again with their new album and with a new single - Perfect - that got some airplay. So SleepinIn is right. It's a process. It's just plugging away. You never know when/if it may happen. Hedley was helped by Jacob's Idol fame - a lot - but it still has taken them five years to get where they are. And I think they had to do a lot of it one fan at a time. I think they understand the process. And I actually do think they made some new fans. The response to their sets has been great. But like I said, I think it's about establishing themselves, here, at this point.

I think it's often like this. Then, if they suddenly become well known, people will think it was some kind of overnight thing. It appears that way sometimes. But it's really all this trying, and false starts, and so forth. It's like beating on the door for years and finally they might let you in.

It's weird that the radio station did the Jingle Ball in such a small bar.

Well, I said that, too, but I meant it a little differently. Like I said, I 've been there a few times, and Sonoma County is mostly rural. Vineyards and farms, with some fancy hotels, bed and breakfast inns, and restaurants. It's the anti-Napa. Very low-key. This was actually about what I'd expect for their radio station's Christmas concert. My comment about it being funny their Jingle Ball was held at that club was said affectionately. Santa Rosa is a small city and the only city in Sonoma County, I think. But it's not a metropolis by any means.

I was surprised that Lee wasn't playing the Fox New Year thing too though.

Maybe he has a better gig? Or some pre-existing gig? I don't follow Lee's career so I don't know. I don't see any reason why he wouldn't be asked to do it. For instance, they asked Archie. So why not Lee and Archie both?

Oh, absolutely. It takes a lot of work to be overnight success. :)

OMG that video is so funny. I'd heard the cale is 106,000 thing but seeing it was hilarious. I can just imagine the two of them yapping at each other on the tour bus, LMAO.

VH1 thing is called Posted. And I think they said over the holidays there would be something for Kris fans. :)

Thanks for the info about Posted! This is is an example of it: Sara Bareilles VH1 Posted | Vh1 Blog

Katharine McPhee will appear on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno, 12/16 (NBC 11:35/10:35c), On The Record with Greta Van Susteren, 12/17 (FOX News 10 pm), and Live With Regis and Kelly, 12/21.

So if Kat McPhee can be on Leno and Regis and Kelly, would it be so hard for Jive to book Kris on these shows to plug AWM?

Maybe they're saving the favours for album #2. Also Kat's album is a Christmas album isn't it? She's got a limited amount of time to sell it - I'd think.

When I said that, I was really thinking that Kris is on his third single and has never promoted any single on Leno Lee debuted his single on Leno. Crystal was on there. Adam debuted IIHY. Etc. I don't think favors always need to be called in but I could be wrong. These shows feature musicians all the time, and many are not even mainstream. Anyway, I guess I'm just saying I don't get why Leno has never had Kris on to perform.

Oh, yeah Leno.

I'm okay with him not being on Leno. That means I don't have to watch Leno. :) Seriously though, didn't they switch to Letterman for that year. Then Letterman got stuck with all the season 9 people. But true enough on the Crystal and Lee thing. Kris hasn't ever played on Leno. He did have a really good interview on Leno though. Were Crystal and Lee interviewed by Leno? I don't recall.. or more accurately I didn't care :p

Hard to believe this was a year ago eh?

YouTube - Kris Allen - Live Like We're Dying ~ Letterman (1080p)

I would trade ugly Christmas sweaters on Letterman for Leno everytime. Just sayin'
