As you can see I'm not in love with it. But I like it.

Yes, I feel the same. It might be because of the song itself, which I'm clearly not in love with. I'll blame Pat. Or that awful jacket. Don't burn guitars, Kris, burn that jacket.

I still think Kris needs to do a video that represents who he is as a performer. The Script did a live-on-film version of Breakeven as well as their video, and it was shown on VH1. I wish Kris could do that. I'd like his next video to be filmed onstage, with the band. Even though I know that probably can't happen because they're not on the recording. But I'd much rather see a video of him lost in the music and rocking out, rather than acting for the camera, which is not really who he is.

YES! That would be the best. Even if they weren't on the recording, I don't see why they couldn't include the band playing too. If you look at Cook's Light On video, aside from the boring story with the teenagers, the rest of the video is Cook and his band rocking out on a football field. I'm sure Kris and the band doing that would be awesome!

I think we need to get this info to Jive, somehow. Wonder how to do that? I mean, seriously. They need to do that. That's a good point about Light On. I'll have to watch it. I suppose we could also suggest it to Kris himself, somehow.

Second viewing (of TT): I liked it a lot more. Also, I watched it a third time without the music just to focus on the images, and I really liked it. I guess initially I was expecting something a little different, maybe more unusual. But I think this is a pretty dynamic video for this song. I mean, what a boringly obvious video they could have done, and they didn't.

That was kind of surprising about Theo hitting bum notes. Well, not really. I mean, I noticed he did this quite a bit, on the show. But the judges would rarely mention it, and just rave about the vocal. So, what else can you tell us about him? Hm. How tall is he? What does Katherine St. Laurent look like now (she was 16 then, right)?

Okay Theo stuff first.. (cause I'm dancing in place to comment on the video)

Only 15 people came out? Wow. Did they advertise at all? I know Theo came here.. and I didn't go.. there couldn't have been many people here either though since he played at a restaurant - and not a huge one. That's too bad. Also not giving attention to the fans that came - Huge mistake. I don't expect him to spend all night with the fans, but it's a good way to keep your fans and get them to come to a show next time he comes through the area. Marketing is huge.

Okay.. VIDEO!!

I loved it! \o/ I was really worried about Pat, the ugly jacket, and the flowery shirt. The only thing that bothered me in the video was the ugly jacket. There are no excuses for that jacket. I'm sorry Kris. Lose the piping.

It's so beautifully shot, the imagery and just the scope of the desert. Really gorgeous.

Kris looked great, Pat stayed virtually anonymous, the flowery shirt was in the dark and actually looked good - plus they didn't shoot much of it..

The chandeliers were gorgeous. Cindy was more of a suggestion of a lost love than flesh and blood woman.

But, that damn jacket. *shakes head* Someone distract Kris and we'll grab it and burn it.

Anybody know any good home remedies?

Use Baking soda and water to form a paste - or what about calamine lotion?

9 Part radio show interview performance from Kris.

Karess Carter On Demand - STAR 102.5 Today's Best Variety

Okay part 5 he talks about Keith being his favourite (natch - mine too) and peeing and hearing his song on the radio. LMAO

The bum notes were really worse yesterday, he was really struggling to go in his higher range. I guess there could be a lot of explanations, but hey, I'm picky and I found it a bit off-putting. I still really liked his new songs and his piano playing was awesome.

Yes, I think Katherine was 16 or 17 on the show. So, she must be 18 or 19 now. She's definitely a very pretty girl and she left that kind of teenage awkwardness (is that a word, I'm not sure it is at all) that she had on the show behind.

Also not giving attention to the fans that came - Huge mistake. I don't expect him to spend all night with the fans, but it's a good way to keep your fans and get them to come to a show next time he comes through the area. Marketing is huge.

Yeah, I agree. I mean, it was like me, that couple from Québec, another group of ladies and Katherine and her friends... plus the other bands and their friends. That's pretty much it. Whatever, maybe he was tired.

Was the show advertised? Well, it was in a small venue that is not on a commercial street and on a Monday night. That's already a lot of cons to go to the show. But Theo re-tweeted an interview with him that appeared in the Montréal Gazette this weekend (or at least, on their website, I'm not sure about the paper edition), so it's not as if there was nothing at all. They were talking about the show in the article.

calamine lotion?

I would have said that too.

I'll have to re-watch the video, maybe tomorrow!

So apparently Theo will be making a second album with Sony? They must feel he's worth it.

I have to add (if it hasn't been obvious) I've never been much of a fan. Not that I think he's bad. But on CI I thought he was somewhat overrated. I liked four guys better than him. I felt he deserved to win, and I like him, but personally he doesn't do much for me as a singer.

I don't know if it's still up, but The Truth video on YouTube was in better synch than the one MJ had.

Well, that's what people said, anyway, but I just watched it and it's not. I guess we have to wait until tomorrow.

It's funny but under the video the comments basically say the jacket is ugly and bringing in Pat Monahan at the emotional high point of the song ruins it. So everyone thinks more or less the same.

Do you ever wonder why, if these things are so obvious to all of us, they are not obvious to the geniuses who are in charge of creating these works of art? I mean, would you have heard that recording with Pat Monahan added to it, and thought it was fantastic? Or would you have seen Kris in that jacket and think he looks great in it? Of course you wouldn't. And yet, the people who are paid a whole lot of money to make these decisions are somehow clueless.

Oh, I forgot to mention - That Star102.5 interview and mini-concert was fantastic. Thanks so much.

Thanks, missaddicted! I was able to watch it. I watched it full screen. It's really good.
Pat Monahan part: not so good.

What I said about Theo - I have to add, if he came here, I'd go and see him.

Thanks for the remedies. I actually tried those already. Oh, and it turns out the things that attacked me were wasps, not bees (or did I say that already?). The itchiness was kind of unbearable today but Benadryl seems to help.

The content is only available in certain areas". Not mine.

Mine either :( - Kris scorns Canada in revenge - LOL

I've stuffed Pat into a corner in the desert. I barely noticed him. (feel bad since he wrote the song.. but dude)

Wasps -- shudder. I fear the bee/wasp.

Hee! Peeps in my twitter timeline have been trying to understand the metaphors in the videos and it was actually pretty interesting. They were actually trying to make sense of Pat being in the video and him being like the "man in the mirror" (since he appears after Kris is seen in the mirror), the part of Kris telling him to tell the truth that the relationship is ending. Anyway, it was more complicated than that, but still interesting, even if it's probably not the case at all.

Still, some thought that Pat being in the video was a metaphor for bad studio decisions. Heh.

Lyndsey Parker's review.

New Video "The Truth": Kris Allen's Operation Desert Storm - Reality Rocks

I just was looking at Adam's tour schedule and I see he'll be in this area the next few days.

The venues are not especially impressive. The South Shore Music Circus (Cohasset), The Cape Cod Melody Tent (Hyannis) , and the Hamptom Beach Casino (Hampton, NH). The H. B. Casino is the place I talked about here once, where my friends went to see some band, maybe Saosin? It's in new Hampshire, and it's kind of dumpy. The other two places are pretty nice, one (South Shore) is a theatre-in-the-round. I think one of them recently had a show by Hanson.

Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom Concerts, Events, New Hampshire's Premiere Entertainment Venue

The South Shore Music Circus - home

The Cape Cod Melody Tent - home

I once saw Mitzi Gaynor (star of the movie South Pacific) at the S. S. M. C.

I see two of the venues are SOLD OUT but there are still tickets at the C. C. M. T. in Hyannis. I guess the Kennedys decided not to go.

Yes, the one I was supposed to be at, but wasn't. Sad. They also performed at the Cape Cod Melody Tent.

Question: Have TPTB made available The Truth video in high quality elsewhere that that Yahoo video that can't be watched outside of the U.S.? If not, well, just further proof of their suckitude.

It should be available for viewing on VH1.

ETA: Scratch that. You can vote for it on VH1, but you can't see it yet.

It's too bad the Yahoo version is not viewable in Canada. It should be, for sure.

I wonder if TPTB have just written off Canada because the Canadian media have basically either ignored Kris or isulted him. Canada seems to be all about Adam. I know Kris probably has a lot of fans there, but maybe nobody knows it. (I see from MJs blog that Adam is going to be on Much again, and is supposed to make some announcement. Also, he's going to put out an acoustic EP of his FYE songs. Interesting.)

This reminded me. I read, on some blog, something similar to what SleepinIn said. The person (Canadian) said that LLWD reached the Top 10 on their local station, and then it was suddenly pulled off the air, never to be heard again. What could possibly be the reason for something like that? Any ideas? I can't think of anything. It seems really fishy, though.

Have you guys seen this interview? It's hilarious. :)

YouTube - KrisAllen.wmv

I love the you got to trust your fans. I wouldn't be able to do that. But I love that Kris does. The faces he makes crack me up.

Yeah, it's too bad the Yahoo version is not viewable in Canada.

Yes. We have yahoo. What's the problem Jive?

I see from MJs blog that Adam is going to be on Much Music again, and is supposed to make some announcement. (Also he's going to put out an acoustic EP of his FYE songs. Interesting.)

They're doing a 1/2 hour special on Adam. One of those Born to Be things. But it's the acoustic CD that burns my muffins I have to say. Especially since he's put out 2 remix CD's! 2! Kris doesn't even have to put out a physical CD.. just sell digital songs on your website dude. I am dying for acoustic versions recorded in a studio with the band.

I wonder if TPTB have just written off Canada because the media there has either ignored Kris or been insulting to him. Canada seems to be all about Adam. I know Kris probably has a lot of fans there, but maybe nobody knows it.

You know what? They shouldn't write Canada off. What they need to do is do press here. Not even shows yet. Press. Radio. Get the stations to play your songs. I know they're concentrating on the US and maybe that's best right now, but seriously... Canada. We need some Kris.

In his spare time, maybe. (j/k)

I don't think Jive can be happy LLWD was pulled from stations as it climbed the charts. I'd like to know the reason, seriously. That burns me up. If they don't give him a chance, if they deliberately screw up his chance to have a hit, I don't understand what's going on.

We can't even watch the videos from VH1 in Canada, so that isn't even a solution.

But it's the acoustic CD that burns my muffins I have to say. Especially since he's put out 2 remix CD's!

Yes. Hate. And since Adam is with RCA, I was comparing his situation with Cook's of course and was even more pissed, since we certainly didn't get any live EPs or stuff like that, even thought the fans were clearly expecting something like that to be released. And why would Adam need to do an acoustic EP of his dance songs. Doesn't make sense. Whatever.

The interview is super funny, thanks for posting it, SleepinIn!

:) Clearly the guy is busy, but really. They should have pushed to do press with CHUM since it's affiliated with all the media in Canada. But I guess CHUM and all the media in Canada were working on getting Adam for the MMVA's and pushed Kris aside. (I firmly believe that - because the morning DJ's at CHUM? Were Kris fans)

I'd like to know that reason too. They waited so long to add the song, then it's climbing the charts.. then poof. Done. And they don't play it anymore. It's fishy. I'm not normally a knoll person but that's knoll worthy.

I wrote a whole big paragraph that was just bitter, bitter me. I'm deleting it, and just saying that I agree. Hate. Is the right word. Next up.. tour video DVD?

I know. And as a Kris fan it's ironic that Kris has done hundreds of acoustic performances, and his fans love his acoustic stuff. While Adam does dance music and he doesn't play guitar or piano, and he gets to do an acoustic EP.

That interview: I always love to see Kris and I appreciate your posting it, but I have to be honest - that giggly chick got on my nerves. I enjoyed his answers, anyhow.

I'd like to know that reason too. They waited so long to add the song, then it's climbing the charts.. then poof. Done. And they don't play it anymore. It's fishy. I'm not normally a knoll person but that's knoll worthy.

I'm not usually into being suspicious of everything, but I also think that's knoll worthy. I can't really figure out why it would happen, though, unless someone higher up ordered them to pull the plug. You know, I'm really hesitant to be be a conspiracy theorist on Adam-Kris matters, but sometimes it just seems so obvious you can't ignore it. I don't even begin to understand how high up it goes.

The whole Rolling Stone thing has always struck me as suspicious, too. Not just the cover story, but the rest of their coverage, as well. I mean, it's a music magazine and it seems unlikely to me that nobody on the staff noticed Kris had talent.

So you removed your "bitter post", huh? Well, at least you got it out.

I decided to watch the AC videos instead. :) (still bitter though)

Kris gets as many laughs as a stand up comedian. And he's just ad-libbing. This always impresses me so much! Every time I watch him doing his banter, every time, I think of those people on MJ's blog who went on and on about how he doesn't relate to the audience. Just today, someone said he has no charisma. Oh, yeah? Oh yeah??

That was a great performance of Man In The Mirror, also. Great to see the expressions on Ryland's face, too.

Okay, so I met Cale and he's good looking. But I didn't really even notice it. He's good looking, I guess, but I didn't feel intimidated, or anything. He's just a kind of nice, handsome, unassuming guy. I really liked him immediately. (You guys have got to meet those guys. Seriously. Get thee hence.)
