The whole Rolling Stone thing has always struck me as suspicious, too. Not just the cover story, but the rest of their coverage, as well. I mean, it's a music magazine and it seems unlikely to me that nobody on the staff noticed Kris had talent.

I can believe the Rollingstone cover thing. Everyone wanted to be the one that said in print "Adam is gay" -- no matter that Adam actually wasn't in the closet. The show sort of pretended that he was. They created that story really. So maybe you're right now that I think about it. lol.

I mean is a guy in make-up that different?? I didn't think so, but I guess he was to the news.

Oh, crap.. voting. Do I remember how?

Catching Up with Kris Allen - Special guests - American Idol

I can believe the Rollingstone cover thing. Everyone wanted to be the one that said in print "Adam is gay" -- no matter that Adam actually wasn't in the closet. The show sort of pretended that he was. They created that story really. So maybe you're right now that I think about it. lol.

Wait, I'm not sure what you mean I'm supposed to be right about. Rolling Stone: I was talking about how they had four or five different flattering articles or short pieces about Adam before he was ever on the cover, saying he was the obvious winner, that he made the rest look like amateurs, etc. And when Kris won, the headline of the article read, "Adam Lambert Loses" (not "Kris Allen Wins"). Then there was their coverage of the GMA thing in Central Park, which was all about Adam, with two small pictures of Kris. I mean, Kris was the American Idol winner. Certainly they were aware a lof of people who read their magazine must have voted for him. It reminds me exactly of the way the show (AI) treats Kris. That's what I meant: I think 19 and Jann Wenner or whoever is in charge of Rolling Stone think a bit too much alike.
Which I find knollish.

A lot of the reason Adam got a leg up on Kris with the media and with the public (and it's still paying off) was all this inexpicable, free publicity from Rolling Stone. And a few other publications. Which I think was engineered totally by 19. How, I don't know.

I'm not a fan of that Don't Stop The Music T-shirt. I'm not really a fan of Written All Over My Face, either, but you know that. I think it's such an un-melodious song and it reminds me of (shudder) Hall and Oates. If that's the third single I'll kill myself. But then I think I said that about The Truth, too. This time I mean it.

As for Adam being out, never being in - that's tricky. If he was always out, there wouldn't have been any story, so he must have been in, in order to have to come out. Was that engineered by the show? Maybe. That never occurred to me. He was out, but for the show, on a more national scale, he went back in. As I see it. He wasn't prepared to say he was gay until the show was over.

That sucks. Maybe you guys just need to bombard MOD and Musique Plus with requests to play Kris's videos. :)

Ah, okay I was agreeing with you over something you weren't saying, lol.

Yep Rollingstone gave Adam a lot of credibility worldwide. For sure.

As I see it. He wasn't prepared to say he was gay until the show was over.

True fax. Not sure I blame him, but still true.

I don't know. Publicity is mainly what I think they gave him, but these days it's hard enough to get publicity. Credibility? Maybe, but I suppose I'm letting my personal biases coler my thinking because I never think he has any credibility. Or maybe I don't think credibility is what it used to be. It's hard to find people who have it, in the public eye. That's why I like and admire the ones who have it.

Ah, okay I was agreeing with you over something you weren't saying, lol.

I don't care as long as you were agreeing with me. :)

Seriously, I can't remember now, but what were you agreeing with? It sounded more interesting than what I was talking about, to be honest.

Top Idol has a lot of stuff about Adam kissing somebody in the audience during his act. I wouldn't recommend him trying that at the Hampton Beach Casino, just saying.

I hate these little Adam stunts that always take the attention away from Kris at the most convenient moments. What a pal. So bored with him and his games.

This is from the thread for tonight's concert on MJ's blog.

Since it has been in discussion that Kris may or may not need to do a better job of introducing himself -

If anyone knows someone at the concert to tweet and ask if Kris was introduced or if he introduced himself or if someone who posts a recap here then we’ll no more about tonight.

For this concert, unless someone verifies, we don’t know if the two tweets of confusion were due to Kris not being introed or something else.

I know you generally read the threads over there, SleepinIn. I know it's probably not nice of me, but some of my fellow Kris fans and their attempts to micro-manage his career make me shake my head. Is it okay to let Kris handle his own career? I think so.

I'm beginning to get some glimpses into the craziness of fandom.

ETA: I admit I overreacted to Adam in my last post. It does seem he always does some attention-grabbing thing when Kris is getting more attention (temporarily), but who knows? it's probably just a coincidence.

I'm good with that too. ;) I wasn't reading over there today, I just now read the twitter list for the concert. They have lots of friends at the show tonight. Did you read the list? Does Ryland's friend play with Maroon 5 on tour?

Saw Charles video of Ryland drumming on the bus, very cool. I think instead of micromanaging we should just send Charles on tour with the band. Let's all save up. :) LOL

I watched Adam's Much Music Born to Be which was basically one interview stretched out over 1/2 an hour interspersed with footage from the shooting of WWFM where Adam looks sad and pensive cut with footage of the MMVA's where they implied that everyone was there to see Adam. Now, I'm sure he had a lot of fans there.. but ARGH! I wish I could just like Adam without the media trying to force feed him to me. It's a little annoying.

Craziness? In fandom? What are you talking about?

No, I never read the twitter list. I just wait for the fans to quote the same tweets over and over again on MJ's. lol

Ryland's friend? I don't know who you mean.

I didn't see Charles Browder's video. Where did you see it? (What, is he traveling on the bus? Do you like him? I...want to like him because the Glamberts are all over his ass about everything, but his charm kind of eludes me.)

I wasn't reading over there today, I just now read the twitter list for the concert.

There has been this ongoing thing about Kris not introducing himself, or not having a banner onstage, because nobody knows who he is, supposedly. So, tonight, one person on twitter called him Owl City, and said Owl City has a fantastic voice. And another person tweeted that a girl behind her said something like, "Wait, that wasn't Maroon 5?" when Kris's set was over (or so I seem to remember).

James Valentine? James Valentine (jamesbvalentine) on Twitter I think he must play with Maroon 5.

Charles video.
charlesbrowder - Wow... - TwitVid

Do I like him? I do. For one thing he's been a really good friend to Kris, and doesn't hesitate to jump in to defend him or promote him. So he obviously has good taste in friends. Plus vice versa - I can't see Kris being friends with someone that was malicious. Now do I think he has foot in mouth disease? Yep.

The Owl City/Maroon 5 thing was funny!! I laughed when I read those tweets. The tweets were during his set I think, clearly those folk weren't there to see Kris, but they were both impressed with him -- okay they had no idea who he was.. but they liked him. Ha! Maybe Kris does need a sign :/ LOL!

This interview was really good (sound was a little wobbly)

SteelTownRock.com - Pittsburgh's New Music Authority

It was interesting what he had to say about the BNL tour, and playing for people that didn't know him was a good thing. So as long as it's positive and they leave knowing that they didn't see Owl City it's all good. LOL

LianamarDS VV Brown was okay, now Owl City is killing it…front man has GREAT vocals!

As I see it, this is actually a huge complement. Because the person (not a very bright person, granted) isn't a fan, doesn't know he won AI, or any of the rest of it. Know what I mean?

Browder is Kris's friend. That's okay with me. I don't have to be in love with him, it has nothing to do with me.

I can't see Kris being friends with someone that was malicious. Now do I think he has foot in mouth disease? Yep.

Oh, gee, I never thought he was malicious. A lot of what he says is just twisted by Kris-haters for their convenience. After all, he's a regular person, not a celebrity. I don't think he's all that hilarious, but he's harmless and I'm sure he's a nice guy.

When you look at Kris's friends pre-Idol, with the exception of Cale they have, like, zero star quality. He obviously chose his friends because they're good people, real people, and I love that about Kris.

Woooooot!!!! :canada: :canada::canada::canada:

Are you serious?? What? Where? When? How? Why?

I may have to go back to loving Canada again.

Have you guys voted at all on VH1? I've tried but it makes me fall asleep. I maybe voted 100 times, though. I have a feeling it debuted too late this week. Plus, the fans of A___ will no doubt vote him to #1 again just for spite.

missaddicted, at last you got to see TT in a decent version. Yeah - the jacket. And all the shots of him in a t-shirt are distant. I was wondering if they put the jacket on him because he was sweating in the 110 degree heat and it showed. Could that explain it??

I'm serious, almost fell over. Real radio station, not at Wendy's - Squee! It's a station that isn't monitored by Mediabase, but still I was super excited.

I voted on VH1 but really I'm the worst at this kind of thing. Still for Kris I will give it a go. LOL

Nothing can explain that jacket. Nothing.
