Speaking of the fair, I'm going to see Kris in Vermont, Labor Day weekend, and that Champlain Valley Expo thing.

Oh, VERY cool! :)

I LIKE Star 101.3 They have good taste. I heard LLWD on the radio today too.. :) Good times.

So.. Shania? Maybe.. I could go for that.

KAO has a teaser on the video.. The Truth is coming.

I think I'm going, anyhow.

Where is Star101.3? San Francisco? I'm amazed LLWD is still the #1 song on any radio station at this point. Do you realize it debuted almost a year ago?

It can see why TT may need a while more, considering LLWD is still making an impact on certain stations.

Shania seems nice, I guess. I thought she was a likeable mentor, but I don't remember too much about that, or her.

I still think celebrity judges aren't such a great idea. What celeb would dare be as harsh as Simon. for instance? That was part of Ellen's problem, I think. She had an image to maintain.

Oh, I forgot. I heard The Truth today on my car radio -- @ 1:30, while I was heading out to lunch.

You know, I have nothing against the idea of PM being part of the song. That was never my issue with it. It's that it doesn't sound good. The reason it doesn't sound good is that it's the emotional high part of the song and the original singer shouldn't stop singing at that point. It breaks the mood. I said something like this before, I know.

But anyway, I'm sure when they test marketed this song, it was before Pat was added to it. I still think it's a mistake.

You're right. They really need a Jake. I don't think they're looking for a Jake Gold though.. they seem to want a big star.. and maybe they need a name to combat the "Idol sucks without Simon". But what they need is someone that knows the industry inside and out, is comfortable on camera and has chemistry with the other judges.. asking too much?

And I agree with you about TT too. I like the new version, but the album version is better. The bridge was my favourite part of the song with Kris. All they really needed to do was an edit for length.

I wonder if that's why more people are buying the album version?

You're right. They really need a Jake.

Or a Zack (my favorite CI judge). I think, ideally, they need a Jake and a Zack. (...and a Farley and a Sass).

I would love it.

I'm trying to upload some pics from Mixfest right now. Keep an eye out for them.

I put a few pictures on twitter, but twitpic is really slow right now so I guess I'll try to do the rest tomorrow.

So can someone verify that a while ago Jive (or someone representing Kris's interests) approached Keith Urban about recording a duet with Kris? I definitely remember reading this, yet people on the Kris concert thread on MJ's are disputing it ever happened. (Others are saying it did happen but it was Keith's idea.) Keith said that they just needed to find the right song, as I recall.

Can anyone find the link?

I think it was in an interview with Keith, but I don't think it was ever really defined. I just think Keith mentioned that he liked Kris a lot and thought he was really talented and would like to work with him. I don't think there are any plans made at the moment.

It was defined, but the trouble is it was misinterpreted. The original article on The Boot site does say Keith is looking forward to collaborating with Kris in the studio, but they took his quote out of context. Go to the Iowa State Fair thread on MJ's for the original article and then the radio interview I linked to. Keith was only talking about singing together on tour.

I understand why they sang it, but I hate that song. Good job, for a song I passionately hate. (I don't like John Mellencamp, either. Just not my style.)

I like how Keith treats Kris. Bringing him back for encores. Intoducing him enthusiastically. Nice.

And the Keith Urban (or maybe just the state fair) audiences seem to love him. Very heart-warming, ain't it? :)

I love the duets between Kris and Keith!

Adam was in my dear province last night. Seems he drew a big crowd at the Balloon Festival. I read one review, which was generally positive (even though they compared him to Buy George, heh). The did criticize his tendancy to "over-act" as they called it, but they said he really won over the crowd. The reviewer was totally crazy about Orianthi though. And I think Allison was there too, but nobody talked about her at all.

Love Kris and Keith together and Keith's shows look fun.

So you didn't go to balloon fest eh? :)

Aw, I wish Allison got more attention. But she's so young, it's all good experience for her. I still think they should have waited to put out her album.
