I love singing and wishing that I can too participate in it but unfortunately I can't do it.

Aw, andchin1 I wish I could sing too. (I secretly think I can.. cover your ears since I sing all the time..just badly) Who have your favourites been?

Alert the sockpuppets on TWoP! The ones who claim Kris was humiliated by not being at the This Is It premiere! Orianthi invited him to her special showing of the film! Eleventy Million Times Better!!!

I liked that interview. I'm wasn't crazy about the "What would you say to the idols if you were mentoring them (even though you aren't)?" questions. A subject better left alone, I'd say.

Welcome, andchin1. Which singers do you like the most this year?

Thanks, missaddicted, I just added that list to my favorites!

I've said before I wish record companies would hire fans to run the official websites. They do a better job.

You know, one of the main moderators on Cook's official site (on the forum) is a fan volunteer (well, I don't know if she's paid to do it or not). She also uses her twitter as an official platform to publish news, important videos, and all that stuff. She also organized the forum in an amazing way. So, yeah, the fans can do a great job. Lisa (the moderator) is actually one of the main reasons why the Cook fandom can be so organized.

I don't get why record companies can't keep official websites current. The whole point of a website is to publicize the artist. When I see one like Kris's that isn't updated, when it's less than a year old, I get worried they don't care about publicizing him. Since some fans would gladly do it for nothing I don't know why they don't use them. Except maybe they don't think it's a good idea, in some cases, to get involved with the fans.

ETA (different topic): I need Melinda Green of Top Idol to do another blog post, stat. It's the only Idol blog I can stand lately. Nothing against MJ but her posters, the Planet Fierce gals, are unbearable of late. And then on TWoP there are the sockpuppets. Have any of you seen any good forums or blogs I don't know about?

"We Hate Idol" by Jillian Madison is sometimes funny. Here's a quote from her:

(Note: Aside from one audition show back in January, I haven’t watched any episodes of Idol yet this season. I honestly have no idea who these contestants are, or what they’re about. I wanted to be able to bring you honest commentary without any prior history or knowledge of the contestants or their stupid sob stories. I have heard, though, most of them SUCK ASS and that this is the worst season people have seen in years. Lucky us.

The live photo-recap and performance rundown will begin at 8 EST. Until then, here’s a reminder:

Now that we’ve gotten that out of the way, let’s do this!

8:00 pm: Ellen’s wearing a scarf inside. That’s one of my biggest fashion pet peeves, so we’re already off to a bad start. To make matters worse, Ryan Seacrest’s front tooth just blinded me.
8:03: Who are all these sorry looking people on stage? Christ, is that the Top 12, or the newest castmembers of Freaks And Geeks: The Musical?
8:05 Michael Lynche is up first. He’s wearing a scarf too! What the hell?
FYI: IT’S ROLLING STONES NIGHT – and personally, they’re one of my most hated bands of all time. Goodie!
8:07: Michael is singing Miss You. Wait, is he the kid from The Blind Side with Sandra Bullock? He’s dancing around the stage like a freak, and his poor pants zipper looks like its hanging on for dear life.
Simon said his performance was “verging on desperate.” I agree. I’m not impressed. NEXT!

In case you haven't decided which American Idol contestant to support tonight, let us give you the facts.

1. Tim Urban looks good with his shirt off. Michael Lynche makes people go blind with his shirt off.

2. Tim Urban has a brother serving in the military in Afghanistan. Katie Stevens was caught giving military information to Al-Qaeda just for the fun of it.

3. Tim Urban is a true follower of Christ. Siobhan Magnus worships the devil, Hitler, and Saddam Hussein and calls on them regularly for guidance.

4. Tim Urban loves babies and babies love him. Andrew Garcia eats babies to satisfy his hunger for human flesh.

5. Tim Urban is a friend to all animals. Lee DeWyze once killed a cat just to watch it bleed and die.

The choice is simple. Tim loves babies and animals and deserves your votes. Isn't he adorable?

(VFTW)

From @IdolsNow: @BLAKELEWIS earns the first Billboard #1 of his career as “Heartbreak On Vinyl” moves to the top of Hot Dance Club Play.

Good for Blake. And besides, this will give the Glamberts someone besides Kris to hate!!! Win-win!!!

SleepinIn, I think I'll nominate you to be responsible of warning us of upcoming Kris gigs... like 24h in advance. Or post a list of his gigs for the week each Sunday night. Something, LOL.

LOL - yeah I'm no good at it either. I had to look it up, I am following the radio station on twitter -- I tend to do that if I hear there's some event coming up so I had a vague memory about Petapolooza (mainly because, come on -- it's Petapolooza!!)

There might be a streaming thing on Monday from Radio Sophie though.

Kris's website is run by a total slacker. While Adam's has mod's that actually talk to the fans. UNFAIR! LOL! They need someone to just take over, mount a revolution and organize the place. Sadly, I am a total slacker -- so it's probably not me. LOL :-?

You know Idol blog's better than I do Ross. :) I do listen to a podcast called the Idle Review which is good. They're not that snarky though, they just discuss and recap the performances. Big Kris fans though.

The Idle Review with Josh & Jen: A Pop-Culture, American Idol Podcast Review 2010 March

Episode 161 starts with Let It Be :)

Here's a blog

Thanks again for the links. I liked the recap I just read. There was also a link to a different recap on the same website, which I haven't read yet. Though I read the last line -- the news that Adam would be the mentor next week.

In conclusion, I know this is going to surprise you, but I am still asking myself,

Why is Adam Lambert the mentor on American Idol next week??????????????

And I will probably keep right on asking myself. Since I still have a hard time believing it.

I just thought the mods on Adam's website talk to the fans to tell them not to spam radio stations, harass DJs on twitter, etc.

I don't GET why Kris's site isn't updated more. Does it mean they have no one on the payroll working on it?

Well, I'll vote for you.

You liar. You won't vote for Tim. You told me so yourself. LOL!

I just thought the mods on Adam's website talk to the fans to tell them not to spam radio stations, harass DJs on twitter, etc.

I think that's why they started talking to them. But then I think they still occasionally chime in. Makes me jealous.

I don't GET why Kris's site isn't updated more. Does it mean they have no one on the payroll working on it?

Kris's friends did a better job. Seriously record label's should look into hiring college students to update their websites. Actually Kris should do it himself --- if he had like time...

He's got another gig with the Barenaked Ladies in Utah -- sometime. If I was a good fan I'd know the date..

You think Andrew is underrated? I thought you didn't like his voice at the beginning? I don't know, I think the guy never lived up to the expectations. I believe his only good performance was Forever while the rest just didn't work for me. And it would have been the case whether he had done Straight Up or not. I'm not a big Casey fan or a big Mike fan, but I'd rate both those guys way higher than Andrew. I just don't feel that Andrew has any natural musicality. He's not bad by any means, but I don't think he's that talented either.

KAddicts is tweeting "who wants Kris and Colbie Caillat to duet?"

Do you guys want that? I can probably live without it. I don't want Kris to go in that direction. I don't see him like that. He's very strong-voiced and he can be really dynamic, while I see her as so soft and mellow.

They probably asked that just for the fun of it, because there's nothing that indicates that they would do a duet. But I would vote no as well. She's not that interesting. Also, I guess I have a bad taste of her doing duets with anyone, because while I love Jason Mraz, I really dislike their duet "Lucky". Can't stand the song.

I don't remember the beginning. I liked him more after I heard his Hollywood week performance. I've voted for him since he's been in the Top 12. The nights I've voted, anyhow. Not for him alone, usually.

I don't think too many of his performances have been good. I think he's gotten lost at times. But when he's good he's good. I think he's one of the few real or authentic singers left in the competition. I like his voice, I can see myself enjoying a concert of his, though he's maybe a bit too mellow for me. But at times I really love how he sounds. And I like his personality.

I really don't like Lee's voice. He seems like a good guy. If he could sing on key I'd probably like his voice more. I like Casey's voice. He can sing. I doubt I'd ever pay money to see him, though. His style of music would bore me. Aaron, Tim, Michael? No. Katie? No. Siobhan is at least interesting, but really Crystal is probably the only girl I think is good. I think Andrew is a stylish singer, the potential is there.
