Yeah, they always talked straight to the CI's. I remember when Chris Sligh wrote that blog about life after Idol for the people who didn't win and everyone went nuts on him. Sass tweeted that he was absolutely right. Zach's interview with VFTW was pretty enlightening too. Even Ben is straightforward. I remember him saying that if Idol came back to Canada they should recast all the judges and the host.

There is also the fact that they all seemed to care about the "kids". They wanted them to succeed. Where sometimes you get the feeling that AI doesn't give a damn.

I agree with all of this. The other thing about AI, it reminds me of this theatre group I once belonged to, where everything seemed flipped around. Reality was just denied if it was inconvenient. People seemed to try to get you to mistrust your own perceptions. Mean people were rewarded, etc.

The Adam-Kris stuff reminds me of that. Like, Americans picked Kris. But even now the show seems to be trying to tell us we really didn't want him. I mean, the reality is, we did, we love him (I can't say Canada does, but I'm pretty sure we do). But rather than accept the decision, AI keeps trying to deny it happened. That is not normal. CI would simply accept the decision and celebrate it because There IS no OTHER OPTION. It is the REALITY. As Zack says, "It is what it is." But AI denies reality.

Similarly, you will be watching someone give a lousy or mediocre performance on AI and then hear the judges rave about it -- or the opposite, they'll cut down a good performance. On CI, I didn't really see this happening too much.

Oh, yeah, I responded to a post of Tiger92 on MJ's blog. This chick keeps repeating the same cliches about Kris, and it's pretty clear she never watches any of his performances. She always has the same three or four things to say about him. He wears plaid, he sits on a stool when he sings, he plays acoustic guitar, and he "sounds like The Fray." She usually references his acoustic Heartless (the one from AI almost a year ago). I think it's the last time she paid attention to anything he performed.

Anyhow, my response, was deleted. It wasn't bad, but I asked her if she ever watches any of his performances, since she doesn't seem to, and I said she keeps using the same cliches to describe Kris.

In conclusion...I intend to join the protest and wear plaid on Tuesday. And possibly not shower.

A review of Adam's concert in Coquitlam, BC:

Idol runner-up Adam Lambert loosens up for summer solo tour

And a revised version:

Glam-rocker Lambert warms up for summer tour

I think both reviews are positive reviews, yet the second has been reworked to remove some criticism (very mild), probably to a couple of attacks the writer got in the comments. (Wimp.)

:canada: :canada: :canada: :canada: :canada:

There were some really negative comments (about Adam, I mean) but the Glambert responses are much more fun, to me:

You couldn't have been there because his concert was AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!! And we've been to alot. Get someone that appreciate's talent to write reviews. The crowd was on it's feet from the minute he walked on the stage till he left. And the concert was sold out in less than a minute not ten minutes.

So Mr. McRanor, do you see what kind of firestorm you have started here? You underestimate the power of the Glambert, don't you? ;)

Seriously!!!! This concert was amazing!!!! He was beautiful and sounded awesome!!! This does not do the show justice at all!!!!

W.T.F is this ? Your photos AND review are WACK lmao. Even non-pros who went to the show managed to get stunning shots yet you couldn't? Non-fans became fans tonight because his voice blew them away. Won't be coming back to THIS site again rofl.

Wow. I wish you'd posted an actual review. Like how his voice sounded, what songs that he sang etc. instead of some piece that sounds like you wrote it in the shower. Thanks anyway.

Lambert's CD is already platinum in Canada. His two released singles are platinum and double platinum. Perhaps your opinion is more of a minority than you realized.

Adam is an entertainer with a fantastic set up vocals! This is what he was born to do! He can pull you right into him and send you spinning with his sultry and then shock and awe voice! He takes you on a journey through many emotions through his songs. You'll want to dance, sometimes cry, sometimes shout for joy! He also has the ability to seduce you with the skill of a magnificent lover and leaves you longing for more...more of his music, more journeys, more of him...

Yes. I give in!! I succumb!!! I too need More MORE MORE of him!!!!

ELEVENTY!!!!!!

It wasn't wasn't even a bad review! I mean, whatever the guy said seemed to be true, and in fact, it was quite clear he was trying really hard to be nice.

I wonder also if the posters went to the concert. It's hard to say. The Cook pics are really good.

Aw, those were cute pictures. I love all those people, they have good karma vibes.

The reviews were positive. I don't know why they got so upset -- okay the picture wasn't the best I've seen Adam looking but the review itself was good.

I know, right? It's both scary and hilarious at the same time.

Slezak's interview with Cook (they talked on the phone this morning)!!!

David Cook on his sophomore CD: Massive choruses, mile-long catwalks, and...Dolly Parton? | EW.com

Nothing really that I didn't know, but his ideas of "massive choruses" and use of "really high register" are still really appealing to me. This is great as well:

My goal at the beginning of this was that I wanted to make a record that really, really pushed the concept of dynamic. Really pushed the interplay between loud and soft, the slow and the fast. And to make a record that catered more to the live show, and that had a versatility. To make a record that could be played at a coffee shop with an acoustic guitar, or that could be played with a mile-long catwalk in the middle of Madison Square Garden. I wanted to try to work on the interplay of opposites, I suppose.

Anything less than "OMG!!! I just saw the greatest star I've ever seen in my life!!!" is an insult.

Why I don't want Adam to mentor on AI:

Siobhan Magnus and Adam Lambert are soul mates | Amy Andrews Gossip Girl | IrishCentral

"Adam's fame even though he did not win last year has far surpassed Kris Allen (pictured with him above) who defeated him. That is why Lambert, not Allen is back on Idol next week, tutoring the final nine contestants."

So that's why Kris isn't there? Okay. Cause I thought: Maybe he has a gig that day. Unlike some people. [/snark]
Ugh the comments under that BC concert review have gotten less positive as the day goes on.

Thought this was a picture of Liza Minnelli!

Once this clown is finished his casino tour he's off to start his 'Live from the Gap' world mall tour. Put this guy on the shelf right next to all the past 'winners' of American and Canadian Idol. Enough already.

Hey you should check out Youtube. Type in Adam Lambert Parody: key of awesome # 16. It is so funny! Much better than the original.

Maybe when Taylor Hicks and Ruban Studdard (whatever his name is) are done weeding my garden, he can join forces with the super talented Adam Lambert and get that fence of mine stained. Finally found uses for these American Idol rejects, now quit trying to cram these wannabe's down our throats as rock stars, ain't gonna happen.....

I just can't get past his tactics wanting to shock everyone to actually listen to him.

WHO???????????????????????????????????????????????????

Well, Katy tweeted this: "Vegas here we come! :)". So I assume that they will indeed be in Vegas... I'm not sure why.

Can someone inform me why people keep saying Kris will be in Vegas this weekend?

Oh, you typical Kris fans. LOL We're so unorganized. The answer my friends is Petapalooza.

Oh, yes. Petapalooza.

Kris is playing with Orianthi, Five for Fighting, and the Barenaked Ladies and a whole lot of dogs for Mix 94.1 in Vegas.

Kris visited that station and sang accoustically for them so they must have liked him to have him back. I think he goes on at some crazy hour like 1 pm or something.
