The First K'naan song was Wavin Flag - which I love and adore - here's an accoustic performance from Q.

YouTube - 'Waving Flag' by K'naan on QTV

and yes, Malajube sang in French. :) You're right - why wouldn't they? lol

Polaris is for the best Canadian album of the year regardless of money made or spins on the radio. It's decided by a panel of music critics, bloggers, industry folk they put out a long list, then narrow it down to the short list which is who is playing tonight. Then there can be only one. So that one wins the $20,000 dollar prize. I think it's a private prize.. not sure who donated it..

Joel Plaskett is next.. that's sort of CI related since Mitch sang Joel on CI. :)

ETA: Thanks for the link Ross I will watch as soon as the streaming ends. :) (BTW: Kris's plaid brethern are at the Polaris music prize. The audience is a veritable sea of plaid)

You think we talk too much about the Polaris Prize? It was your lurking comment I didn't understand. And you wrote "Not that there's great music in Canada".

I'll watch the interview also as soon as the stream ends, I want to catch Hey Rosetta.

We're getting spammed LOL.

Thanks for the name of the K'Naan song, SleepinIn, I'll check out his record on iTunes. I just downloaded the new version of iTunes though and I'm all confused...

I just watched the clip while Polaris was on break.. 'cause I am impatient. :)

It's a good interview with Kris from today - it looks like it was done at a cabin in the woods somewhere, Very nature-y. He looks so relaxed though, so I think he had a lot of good feedback today. Seriously, how can people not like this guy? It's pretty impossible. They must be trying really hard.

Ugh, me too. It's awful, isn't it?

Just needs some time to get used to it, I guess. It's just a big change, LOL!

ETA: Who's playing right now? Doesn't sound good to me at all...

bah. CBCarts called Chad Vangaalen: the funniest wackjob savant in Canadian indie rock.

SleepinIn, did you see? Glee just got a full season pickup, yay!

I saw that!! Yay!

Matt Wells is announcing Hey Rosetta. Love him. :)

There are a lot of positive reports on Kris's single on the internets. I am happy.

Just watched the Access Hollywood interview, nice! I loved his face at the end when he said that Ellen would give Simon a run for his money!

I loved Hey Rosetta, so much intensity. I would see them live any day. And Emily Haines is a new fan too!

There's something compelling about F**d up (giant naked guy could be the compelling thing, lol) - but, yeah, not going to buy that album. Actually aside from the hardcore aspect there are moments that I like about their songs. But since their sound is pretty much hardcore.. kinda leaves me out.

itunes pass!! Has another Kris video from the tour. I didn't know there was going to be another video. Downloading it now! :) :) This is a really good day.

Aw, the video is good. Kris playing Bright Lights backstage, MFB in the background but closeups of them all, Kris talking about where he thought he'd be at this time last year. Nice end to the tour video.

No, I don't think you talk to much about the Polaris Prize!

And you wrote "Not that there's great music in Canada"

Ha! I wrote this:

"Oh. Canadian music. Cool. I'm always up for that. It always amazes me there's so much great music in Canada that most of us never heard of down here.
I mean, it amazes me most of us never heard of it. Not that there's great music in Canada."

I was trying to explain my first sentence, because it came out wrong. It sounded like I was amazed there was great music in Canada. So I was trying to clarify that what I meant was I was amazed most of us (in the States) had never heard of it, not amazed that there could be great music in Canada.

Does that make more sense? Originally, I was trying to complement Canadian music. Saying it's so good I'm surprised more of it doesn't become well known in the States.

When I said "maybe I should just lurk," I meant: since I wasn't having a lot of success writing tonight, maybe I should give up trying to write, and just lurk.

Well, it's about 12:30am and my brain isn't working so great but I hope that clears it all up. :-?

LOL! It's funny because I totally understood what you meant in your first sentence, it's the last one that confused me!

Don't even try to go into lurking mode, SleepinIn and I won't let you! The misunderstandings are always sorted out in the end... and I'm pretty much always the one who's misundertanding things, so it's definitely not your fault!

That is funny. So there's actually a band called ****ed Up? With a big, naked guy on stage? (snort. And they call Adam Lambert edgy.)
