Hey, what's Grey Gardens? I saw you post about it earlier and it won an Emmy, but I don't know what it's about.

Michael Emerson and Kristin Chenoweth won, yay! And Jeff Probst beat Ryan Seacrest. I have to admit that as much as I like Ryan, Jeff Probst is the best.

Wow, the comments under the song on the radio station's website are incredible. Of course there was a "WTF it's a Script cover" comment. (If the creeps from the planet F. make it an issue, ross will be cutting some people. Just sayin'.) Like that is a sin. Oh, well.

Oh, and re vampires: In the immortal words of Bernard Hughes, in the last line of "The Lost Boys" (1987):
"I hate vampires."

I love the song. I am not "officially in love" with it yet, I guess, but I only played it once. I'm so glad it's a song that's so catchy, and that I can get into. AND I like the fact that when you hear the whole thing, Kris's voice is not too mucked up and the voice comes across so well.

LOL to the Alec Bladwin comment about Rob Lowe. I think they're about the same age, so, yeah. Alec is looking like Rob's much older brother, these days. He used to be a matinee idol, himself.

Must go listen to the song....

The interview is also up on the Elvis Duran website. Pretty good interview! And an Adam fan was totally converted to Kris because of the song...

Loved the interview. Those DJs are really nice. Did they say ET was there and it would be on TV tonight? Must watch. Thanks so much for the links. And, yeah, the sound was better than on mj's blog.

Haha. Charles Browder, Kris's friend from Conway, was kidding Kris -- on twitter -- that it was an important day. Birthday? No. Katy pregnant? No. What could it be, then?

So Rickey (the blogger) ran with it and announced Katy is having a baby. LOL!
Rickey, Rickey...

I eventually had to go to mj's blog and read the opinons. Minor buzz kill, but the comments on EW.com are fantastic, overall, as are the comments from the NYC radio station.

SQUEEE!

Well, I was already in love with it from the 23 seconds. Adding the extra just gave me more to love. :) I think it's a song that really grows on you. I'm happy about it. And it ultimately sounds like Kris, which is always a good thing.

I'm so happy for him, I listened to the interview and the song so many times this morning (thank you Rickey - fake baby rumours not withstanding). I was long over the cover issue last week, It just sounds good to me on the radio. It's good for Kris and really it's good for the Script too.

The people at the Elivs Duran show seemed really positive about the song. I don't know how they are ususally - but they seemed to like Kris and the song. Jim and Michael Slezak fighting over Kris in the hall must have been funny too. Thank you Jim and Michael. :) (you both rock)

There was another interview in New York too. With a KILLER MITM. These on the ball peeps have uploaded it.

Kris Allen – Acoustic Man in the Mirror @ 95.5 PLJ New York Radio « Randomize ME

and Grey Gardens' was a movie with Jessica Lange and Drew Barrymore it closely mirrored a documentary called Grey Garden's that followed the lives of two of Jacqueline Kennedy's cousins (a Mother and Daughter) who lived in a mansion that was literally a shambles.

and YAY! I LOOOOOVE Being Erica. It's so good. I think you'll like it missaddicted. I'm sure Sebastian will be great on it.

It definitely grows on you. I put it on repeat this afternoon while working and I loving it now!

About Being Erica, I checked it out last night on CBC's website and it definitely appears to be something I would love. I had the urge to watch the episodes from the first season (so glad they're online!), but it was getting late! Sebastian posted on Facebook that his character was appearing in the first episode, but that it was only from episode 5 that it was really becoming more important. I'll watch it!

Can you imagine what a day this would have been if we hated that song?? I'm just really glad I like it. I haven't listened to it since noon, but it's been in my head all day. Of course, he sings it much, much better than the original, in terms of vocal ability, style, and connecting to it, in my opinion -- and I am loving the fact that he's doing a song I like, and that he sounds so great.

Earlier today I read some descriptions of the song as bubble-gum pop and as trite(guess where I read that?), but to me what's great is that he could have been forced to record a David Archuleta type of song, or a rock anthem, and instead we get this very cool song. To me it is, anyhow.

I haven't listened to your link yet.

Grey Gardens...it was also a B'way musical, right? Anyhow, yeah, it originally was a documentary about Big Edie and Little Edie Beale, this mother and (adult) daughter who were rich but lived in squalor in a big mansion on the ocean, or on Long Island Sound, I forget. And they were kind of nuts. The daughter had a weird kind of style and was theatrical. I was surprised to read recently that she's considered a kind of gay icon, and has fans.

Being Erica: this is a Canadian show?

Yes! That's a very good point. It's definitely not a bubble-gum pop song and it totally fits Kris, which is the most important thing. It's not the most original thing ever, but it could have been SO much worse. Actually, things are good I think. It's getting a mainly positive reaction. I think Kris fans like it better that Cook fans liked Light On at the same time last year.

Being Erica: this is a Canadian show?

Yes. I don't know if you can watch stuff on CBC's website from the U.S.

Acoustic MITM: That was sooooooo goooooooood. That was a live, unedited performance? This guy is just going to go through the roof. He is the bomb.

Thanks! Good interview.

And it's nice to hear Kris finally on his own. Just seems different, somehow.

Most amazing thing, to me: nothing fazes him? How did he get to be like that?

ETA: Why do they debut the song a whole week before it becomes available on iTunes? Just so they can raise awareness of it first?

I have no clue. It was the same thing with Cook last year. But, it happens often if we think about it: a song will start playing on the radio for a few weeks and then it becomes available on iTunes. Maybe it is better to raise awareness first and start gaining radio plays, then it can debut higher on the Billboard chart!

That makes sense.

I was just scrolling through all the positive comments on that Elvis Duran website again. It's very gratifying. I'm sure most of them are like us, huge Kris fans, but, hey, so what? The haters are in hiding temporarily, I guess.

I'm just so happy today, lmao. I think Kris (and Adam and everyone else) are going to trade fans around for awhile as people see them off the show in the real world. It's only natural and allows the new casual fans to arrive too.

And it's nice to hear Kris finally on his own. Just seems different, somehow.

Yes! He really comes across as a very cool person.

LOL - Didn't he say on the interview that his entire family is the opposite? It cracks me up a little. Daniel is so hyper. They must have split those genes.

Being Erica is on Soapnet in the States. It's soapy but it's not *that* soapy really. It's got a nice sense of humour about itself.

Kris is going to be on GMA again on November 17th and Adam will be on the 24th - nice promo for their album releases.

I don't get Soapnet. Well, where Sebastian is concerned, I'm just really happy for him. I don't necessarily have to watch him in everything. (It's not like listening to a song for three minutes. I wish I could watch whole episodes of TV shows but I haven't got the patience. Me and Jacob are kind of ADHD cases. lol)

Darn it I missed both ET and Extra. Hope sombody puts them on YouTube.

ETA: That didn't come out right. I can actually sit through whole episodes of TV shows. (Well, come to think of it, I really can't, usually.) I meant, on the internet.
