It's the unilateral speculative position on that 'evidence' that is what I'm questioning.

When one of your kids comes running.. "mommy, mommy - Timmy hit me" (conveniently leaving out the she booted him in the balls) - do you condemn and punish Timmy prior to finding out what transpired?

Agreed.

It's possibly, although a city the size of Edmonton would likely have many local dentists (incl surgeons) to draw upon for an emergency.

Camrose is an hour on the highway to the city limits of South Edmonton... Kick in another 20+ minutes to navigate through town to one of the hospitals.... To me, that would entail a very unique situation that this lady would be called on for an emergency.
Ok, perhaps it wasn't a dire emergency or they had the patient stabilized. It's still peripheral to the beating. Any cop I'd want to know would reply to a closed window with a light rap on it. This asshat was aggressive from the first minute. I'd love to hear the asshat justify what he is accused of because at this point he sure looks like another Cst. Bubbles.

I know people who commute from Camrose, because that's where their acreages are affordable, and where their relatives are. They're willing to commute to have the luxury of horses at home, or to save on daycare costs by having access to grandparents.

In the lowermainland of BC an hour and 20 commute is quite normal. I knew of people that lived in Hope BC and worked in downtown Vancouver. I used to live in Abbotsford and commute out to Vancouver airport every day. That was an easy hour and a half depending on traffic. Sometimes more. I knew of people that lived in Langley BC and worked in Victoria flying to and from every day.

This questioning of where she lived and where she worked is a red herring.

Well, right now Timmy's hiding and not speaking out, so it's looking like he's got nothing to show. The media is free and open, the sheriff can counter and defend his actions.

Great, so the answer is to convict him in absentia... Case closed

Keep in mind we're not a firing squad. We haven't tried and hanged the man. But things sure don't look good for him.

Sure could have fooled me.

I'm not questioning if it's reasonable or not for her to live where ever she chooses. In fact, someone in this thread already posted that she maintains an office/practice in Edmonton.

Regardless of the above, she busted the limit and was pulled over... Events unfolded, damage to this lady has occurred and a charge of resisting arrest has been levelled and allegations of sexual abuse (the part about smacking her boobs baffles me) and excessive force are being pursued.

I don't get why her career really factors into it, for her, or for him. The law is the law. Freedom of association, freedom of movement, is protected by law.

She has the right to live where she wants, and travel to wherever she wants, but to do it within the law.

She sped, she deserved a traffic stop. But, I can't fathom any officer I know needing to do this to someone over a traffic altercation.
Technically, we could have been ticketed every time we went to a fire scene and went over the speed limit or through a red light. Unfortunately, she has a professional status but is without the beacons and noisemakers and bumped into a troglodyte.

Then why are you wasting time on this?

For the sake of conversation. You?

See, the irony is that you've convicted her, and deemed her deserving of a beat down. You've tried to imply she's somehow dishonest because her job and her place of residence don't add up in your mind. You've tried to say she must be lying, and she had this coming. You've convicted the character of a woman you don't even know, because in your mind, the sheriff must be a better person.

I don't agree. The evidence simply shows a thoroughly beaten woman. The rest is all guess work.

I was kinda wondering if being unable to reasonably account for your presence on a public road was cause for a summary beating in Canada.

Hard to say without more facts.

And may have been the only surgeon available that has privileges at that hospital. Surgeons are called upon to perform emergency surgeries on occasion.
Some almost live at the hospital. As long as there are stupid people that drive, drink and think they are ninjas or UFC fighters, ride bicycles, rollerblade, skateboard etc she'll be in very high demand.

I guess it just old farts whose only experience with a DDS is getting their teeth stubs yanked from too much booze and coffee row

Yeah, I thought it was her driving that's the issue!

You've got some strange sense of things here. I have convicted no one, only asked questions and stated (on a few occasions) that more info is needed.

You might notice that in the posts I have submitted

Do they still use a phone books to prevent bruising when doing beatings down at the station?

Pillow cases of oranges work too

Yeah, someone needs to explain to the learned Capt. that cops are there to enforce the laws of the road and shouldn't be meddling in folk's private affairs. It wasn't an axe murderer (as far as we know) that he was stopping.

cpt, You've jumped to a conclusion as much as I have. You've said she's leaving out important details. You've even further implied it with your Timmy analogy. You've argued that Sal saying 'it was quite a beating', was her coming to conclusions.

It was quite a beating. It was inarguably quite a beating. She's bruised all to hell, she's got holes in her face from rocks. It was quite a beating. One questions what on earth a sheriff is doing, when he has to lay that kind of beating and bruise those areas of someone, to execute an arrest.
