I don't think the question is whether there are any good cops out there, I know there are. I witnessed a racially motivated assault earlier this year and went into in the downtown station to give a witness statement. The fellow who was in charge of the racial crimes division was an immigrant from Africa and a really cool guy.

The problem is that the entire force backs up the nobs who have no business being in a position of authority, it drags the entire force down and makes them all look like storm troopers. I know there are good cops trying to do their duty, but that should also include supporting the removal and charging of officers who commit crimes while on duty, and it's really hard to argue that the sheriff in this case didn't commit aggravated assault.

The incident probably went something like this only more violent.

Some people have no business being cops, how about this officer who threatens to kill people during traffic stops.

Northern Ontario,
Sometimes in the early'90,s I was coming back to Kap from Sudbury with a 44Magnum Ruger Blackhawk..I had just purchased there...
Somewhere around the 560 cut-off, There was a road block with several police cars armed to the teeth
Shotgun and their hands on their sidearms when they approached my truck.
As soon as I stopped I took the keys out of the ignition, and handed them to the officer that opened my truck door, keeping my hands in plain sight.

Once I was outside, he asked me why I had done that. I told him because so many armed officers meant something was going on, and told him of the revolver behind the backseat and the keys to the regulation lock box were on the key ring and all the paperwork from the Sudbury OPP were in the box.

After inspecting everything and giving me back my keys, he told me that they were looking for some armed suspects and I was not to stop for anyone but uniformed officers, and that he would call ahead so I wouldn't be stopped along the way.

When he closed my door he thanked me for being so forthright with him...and two more check points just waved me through......

I sure hate to quote myself but it's easier than writing the same story again, to show the proper way to handle yourself when stopped by the police.....

I think Cliffy meant to say battles. ?? Just say'in??

1. The annexation of the Sudenland (no shots fired)
2. Capture of Poland
3. Battle for France (also involving the capture of Belgium and Holland).
4. Scandanavian Campaign (several battles in Norway including Narvik--a terrible defeat for the British).
5. The capture of Greece, including Crete (catastrophic defeat for the British).
6. North African campaign (again, a multitude of battles: Bir Hacheim, El Alghelia, 2nd Tobruk, Kasserine, and a host of other victories).
7. Russia--the first two years there were at least dozens of German "victories" (Sevastopol, Kharkov, Kiev, etc.) but to my thinking, they were hollow victories in that strategically they didn't give the Germans what they wanted/needed against the Russians.

Ahem- 2 thru 7 -Those were battles conducted during the war.

where are you coming up with the notion that she said he pushed his pe-nis against her? You posted the OP, didn't you read it?

You're right, she didn't say pe nis, she said that he pushed his pelvis into her back,, and she mentioned that no women should be handcuffed by the police and sexually assaulted.

I do find it unusual, indicating that she was to see patients in another jurisdiction.. But that doesn't make her guilty of anything, it's just unusual.

Part of me is wondering if she is/was using that as a crutch to explain her speeding
Hard to say without more facts.

I get it... But she's still a Dr.
And may have been the only surgeon available that has privileges at that hospital. Surgeons are called upon to perform emergency surgeries on occasion.

Sounds to me like she's addressing the only concrete evidence at hand.

It's the unilateral speculative position on that 'evidence' that is what I'm questioning.

When one of your kids comes running.. "mommy, mommy - Timmy hit me" (conveniently leaving out the she booted him in the balls) - do you condemn and punish Timmy prior to finding out what transpired?

Hard to say without more facts.

Agreed.

It's possibly, although a city the size of Edmonton would likely have many local dentists (incl surgeons) to draw upon for an emergency.

Camrose is an hour on the highway to the city limits of South Edmonton... Kick in another 20+ minutes to navigate through town to one of the hospitals.... To me, that would entail a very unique situation that this lady would be called on for an emergency.

I don't care how far her commute is. That's not important.
Good.

The news stories almost makes it out like this broad was on her way to 'save lives' or something. They don't say whether she's Dr. Scholl, Dr. Who, Dr. Ho or a Doctor Doctor.

She's a friggin' dentist.
Wrong. Gotta wonder about people who can't tell the difference between a dentist and a dental surgeon. Whoever it was that was the reason that Edmonchuk hospital called her for might have had a fractured mandible or jaw fragment that may have been threatening a major artery, or something also as vital.
FUkin AB Sheriff was waaaaaaaaaay outta line, whether she sped or lipped him off or whatever (short of attacking him).

Well, right now Timmy's hiding and not speaking out, so it's looking like he's got nothing to show. The media is free and open, the sheriff can counter and defend his actions.

Keep in mind we're not a firing squad. We haven't tried and hanged the man. But things sure don't look good for him.

I know people who commute from Camrose, because that's where their acreages are affordable, and where their relatives are. They're willing to commute to have the luxury of horses at home, or to save on daycare costs by having access to grandparents.

I don't get why her career really factors into it, for her, or for him. The law is the law. Freedom of association, freedom of movement, is protected by law.

She has the right to live where she wants, and travel to wherever she wants, but to do it within the law.

She sped, she deserved a traffic stop. But, I can't fathom any officer I know needing to do this to someone over a traffic altercation.
