You know, the NDP is going be in the Official Opposition for a very long time if The Liberals and their supporters don't abandon the secret agenda malarky and come to the realization that Canadians just aren't that stupid.

Scary thought isn't it.

This wouldn't even be a problem if the Liberal governments with their vote buying immigration laws hadn't let so many terrorists into our country to start with.

No I don't. I have pulled off some of the stupidest stuff imaginable. I am an expert on stupid. Politically, Canadian are pretty stupid. A Harper majority is proof positive.

Why are Canadians stupid for giving Harper a majority? This is the arrogance I'm talking about. This is why the Liberal Party is in the doldrums. It's because they don't think that Canadians are smart enough to think for themselves.

The Conservatives and NDP should join the Liberals in oblivion. Canada needs a new form of government with a new, more representative way of representing the people, but no, we just keep getting the same old BS confrontational, old school politics of back biting, mud slinging and corporate dictatorship. I call that pretty stupid. It is no different than a spectator sports mentality. In fact, I think we have been intentionally conditioned by TV to view it and accept it that way.

Some of you people are ****ed up.... If you raise arms against our country you dont deserve any of our rights or amnesty from us. Get ****ed

If we cut off our arms that could solve the problem.

So, what's your suggestion Cliffy?
Proportional Representation, no party system, abolish lobbyists, elected senate, policy and laws by consensus, rewrite the constitution with public input and public approval, a thorough review of all laws and scrap thousands of out dated and useless laws, would be a good start.

Well, the only thing I can think reading through this thread is, at least someone from the Conservative social media management crews might see it. At least they might see the opinions that what they're proposing to propose is taking it too far. But, it is still just a proposal to propose something. it's not happening yet. I doubt it ever will.

You are a complete and utter idiot. You go so far past the Moron stage that it is pathetic.

The Tories are proposing that if you join an ARMED force that is fighting against the Canadian Armed Forces, and you fight against those Canadian Armed Forces, that you shall lose your Canadian citizenship.

I applaud them for this. Any person that takes up arms against their country of citizenship deserves to lose their citizenship.

And only a Liberal would so mischaracterize what this PROPOSED law would be all about. It has nothing to do with free speech (shooting a gun at soldiers is NOT speech, nor is planting a bomb), and it has nothing to do with political protest.

Do you honestly believe that this suggestion would have any impact on mudslinging, confrontation or influence via lobbies or corporations? I believe that your suggestion may actually amplify the aforementioned mechanisms.

The most positive change Harper could make to the Citizenship Act is to rescind ALL DUAL CITIZENSHIPS.. for whatever country.. friend or foe.. allowing NO divided loyalties.

This would reduce the numbers of 'citizens of convenience'.. some of whom have never lived in Canada or contributed to its society.. but hold it as fallback if they get into some trouble in their country of residence.. or.. get sick.. and then demand Canada come to the rescue.

As for the rest of it, Canada already has provision to remove Citizenship from those to whom it was granted under false pretences.. and i assume taking up arms against it, or inciting terrorism or rebellion, would come under that. If citizenship is a result of birth to Canadian parents, it becomes inalienable.. but charges of treason can apply.
