Of course..... I don't pick and choose which laws I obey......"Do You"?
Dang; too bad you guys came to an agreement.
In the spirit of compromise, I was about to suggest we just deport him halfway.

Now, there's a plan I would agree with :lol:Dang; too bad you guys came to an agreement.

There you go....only the laws you like ....Most criminals think that way too....Since I don't recognize the government of Canada as legitimate under common law I don't feel a need to obey any of their rules. It may appear that I do but that is because most of the rules in the CCoC happen to be inline with my personal moral & ethical standards.

Who can argue with an illogical argument like that!!!When we have a legitimate government that represents the people I will gladly follow all their laws. Right now I comply with most under threat of imprisonment or physical harm, that doesn't mean I agree with them or recognize them as valid.
Sure had me fooled.....:roll:By the way, I am not playing the race card since, as the press has indicated, he is of East Indian extraction and is as caucasian as is our Mr. Smith.

After all, Deepan has served his sentence for his crimes, paid his debt to Canadian society, and has expressed remorse.
Are you suggesting it's racially based then? Because I think it because he's been convicted of a crime and his particular, and rare, situation presents the opportunity for deportation. I don't think it matters what his cultural background is.
It's not as if they are going to start deporting Indians by the thousands just for the hell of it.
I'm actually trying to imagine the odds of a child born on Canadian soil to diplomatic parents who then grows up to be convicted of a major crime...probably doesn't happen all that often to be any real concern.
I'm sure that was the opinion of Russians when Stalin came along. You know the saying....give them and inch....
Whether he got a Canadian birth certificate by error or because he deserved one he obviously had it for many years and that document entitles a person to certain rights of citizenship. I just cannot support those rights being revoked as a matter of convenience or for political gain.
I can understand that point but it would seem that the govt didn't care about it for over 2 decades. They let him grow up in Canada believing he was a citizen, they even issued a passport which requires you to be a citizen. If the govt had done something when he was a baby or even a toddler then fine but they didn't. They didn't make him apply for citizenship or a visa, they just ignored it and granted him another document reserved for citizens so they should have to live with that.It does not give him any rights if it was obtained fraudulently or by error.
