There is no doubt in my mind that you believe what you say. What you say is very exaggerated, in my opinion.

After a couple of posters expressed doubt I added a PS to put my opinion into perspective. You might wish to re-read it, I did not mean a wave of invaders. I meant a steady trickle of the same kinds of Americans who drive to Alaska every year loaded down with rifles, shotguns and ammunition. I used to see them up north. If you factor that in and still don't believe it, that's fine.

Also, don't make assumptions about people, what I have knowledge of and experience in is for me to inform you not for you to presume.

Don't tell me what to assume about "people", then. Make your statements about yourself. As to that, sorry, parts of the page keep going blank and I thought I was answering somebody else.

The Indians of California were already virtually wiped out before the Americans arrived in California. The Mission System set up by the Spaniard Father Junipero Serra enslaved them, destroyed their culture and led directly to their demise.

The Ohlone Way details the sequence of events.

Like the fact that I didn't invite you to read all my 'stuff', I suggested you read one thread, you could find for your self, after you asked where you could find it.

I guess we can add dishonesty to your list of failings. Why am I not surprised.

To whom was your prior post directed?

OK, it was to you. The slaughter of the Northern California Natives was pretty unprecedented after 1849.. even in Violent North America..

We? tober and you are one in the same?

I would embrace it with open arms. I love the USA, and they have great places to visit, lots of history, and pride, something that Canadians could learn a lesson on. We need to take on the saying as they do.. If you do not like it here, our ways, or how we speak,, LEAVE!. In the last two years in the summer I have travelled to many states on the Harley, have seen lots of history, wonderful, friendly people, with lots of pride, and manners. I think the two countries becoming one, is a great idea, and a long time coming.
This summer we did 8 states, 8000Kilometers. Next year we are going to do more, one day having done all the States. Past two years we just went on Harley, and stayed in hotels, now we got a 30 foot motorhome, trailer for the bike, so we will go to places, stay for a couple of days, and take day trips on harley, this way we get to see more, by staying longer.

There is no reason for an American/Canadian merger to happen, are economies are pretty well integrated, our people cross the border with little or no disruption, in times of need we are there for each other, we have our occasional spats like families always do, generally speaking there is mutual respect (save the political chest thumping on both sides) and above all our cultures our similar enough to feel right at home when we visit.

Now if we can get rid of the paranoia, I think we would be truly the envy of the world. And honestly aren't we already?
