There still may be charges or a whopper of a civil suit. Having another govt investigate the incident could radically effect the out come of any criminal charges or civil suit creating an even bigger scandal.
So if you fly to Canada and don't speak English you better watch out ; you might be zapped,right?

The taser is a torture weapon pure and simple and is illegal in our society. The taser must go and those who whine about it going need to be zapped 5 times. They can decide if they still want to keep it after if the live through it.
I would have no problem with tazers being banned but the whole "illegal in our society' isn't exactly a compelling legal argument to have them banned.
How about people who whine in general go.

Tazers are legal in this country so until that is changed they are no more of "torture weapons" then a handgun or a billyclub.
I see it exactly for what it is. You on the other hand use it as a crutch to criticize this country continually regardless of what is done about it.
Also, this issue ranks pretty low in "world opinion". The world is more concerned with the Michael Jackson funeral right now.
Is torture legal? I didn't ask about the bull**** govt legal excuse I'm talking reality. Is it or is it not a torture weapon? Can you fire a taser in the air to scare the **** out of someone and subdue them without injury? Can you tap someone with a taser like you can with a club?
Quit with your sanctimonious mouth breathing, Petros. Any weapon can be used for torture, plain and simple. Not even Amnesty international considers use of tazers to be torture.
With that said, I think tazers should be limited or banned due to them being potentially lethal.
