Blame monetarism... the free trade in currency and credit.. the collapse of Canada's integrated industrial economy and Free Markets in essential commodities and primary inputs. ALL should be strictly regulated.. taken off the world bourses.. and fixed to complement a National and Sovereign Economic programme. It's time to Nationalize our oil resources and primary refining.. and set a national price free of Global influences.. as all SENSIBLE oil producing nations have already.

ROFLMFAO. Nationalizing the oil industry now would force us to raise the price of gas.

This oil crisis shouldnt be missed. Nationalizing oil dosn't automatically mean the price will rise, I'd drive it down with submarine money that's being wasted, subsidize oil till the private players wither, even if you have to buy aircraft carriers.
Besides angstrom will work for a buck and a quarter an hour. In Canada we have millions of miseducated young people to intern for a few years.

A low dollar is good for exports.
That said, we ought to keep a close eye on inflation and the Bank rate. It might be to.e to raise taxes or other sources of revenue or reduce government expenditure to help put the breaks on inflation and interest rates.

Yeah it is, so what do we manufacture that we might export? Hockey yeah, maple syrup, yeah, oil yeah. If we raise taxes without first raising wages we will be seen to be totalitarian. The problem is your subserviant pandering to finance economics. We must destroy this segment of our economy befor it eats us. Money for nothing chicks for free.

It seems it's considered a crisis if the price is moving up or down. It is only crisis-free at $87.43 per barrel.

Why Russia’s Unfazed By Falling Oil Prices

Actually, the lower oil prices hurt the fracking more.. they will start to lose money.. they will have to start laying off oil workers.

This will do more damage to the USA and Canada..

Fracking industry about to crash

Fracking Industry Damaged by Saudi Arabia Oil Pricing

Yeah Petros, we are at War with ISIS.. they are selling their oil at a discount flooding the markets..

Saudi Arabia is keeping the price low, and it's starting to hurt, the USA, Canada and Russia.

ISIS and the Dangers of Black Market Oil

ISIS Is Selling Stolen Oil For The Low Price Of $20 Per Barrel

Fracking eh?

Shale Development in Ukraine

Ukraine has an estimated 42 trillion cubic feet (tcf) of technically recoverable shale gas reserves, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA),1 ranking its deposits as the fourth largest in Europe behind Poland (187 tcf), France (180 tcf) and Norway (83 tcf). The most promising shale reserves appear to be in the Lublin Basin, which extends from Western Ukraine into Poland, and the Dnieper-Donets Basin in the East (which borders Russia). However, the full extent of these reserves is yet to be proved

Bye bye Soviet gas in EU.

Does ISIS show up at refineries with a Toyota Tundra full of oil and they just say " make the cheque out to ISIS"?

Why aren't they dumping stainless steel, copper, brass, aluminum on the markets It's worth 50-100X what oil is worth on a pound for pound basis?
