This wouldn't be possible without the Paris Agreement.

Canada aligning with U.K. to end coal-fired electricity

OTTAWA — Canada is joining forces with the United Kingdom to push for a global crackdown on unabated coal-fired electricity.

Eliminating, or at least reducing, the world's reliance on coal is a critical step in the Paris climate change accord's efforts to prevent the planet from warming more than two degrees Celsius over with pre-industrial times.

Environment Minister Catherine McKenna is on a two-day trip to the U.K. and Ireland this week, pushing Canada as a global leader on climate change action.

Today she will be in Ireland to be a panellist at a climate risk conference in Dublin and tour Ireland's Marine Institute in Galway.

During Wednesday's stop in London she and Claire Perry, British minister of state for climate change and industry, announced plans to use their own national commitments to phase out coal power plants as a means to convince others to do the same.

In a statement, the two said Canada and the U.K. are both committed to phasing out unabated coal use at home — Canada by 2030 and the U.K. by 2025 — and they are inviting others to jump on board during the next United Nations climate talks in Bonn, Germany in November.

Unabated coal plants are those built without carbon capture or storage, which reduces their emissions significantly.

About 40 per cent of the world's power is generated from burning coal and in Canada one-tenth of electricity comes from coal plants.

Re: Canada and UK Align to End Global Coal-fired Electricity

I'm fed up of all this global warning nonsense. The burning of coal is causing no harm to Earth. Earth is fine. Britain is a country which lies on trillions of tons of coal and our mines should be reopening for the coal to be dug up and used. We should be doing what the Germans and Chinese are doing in building more coal-fired power stations. Using "green" technology that's expensive and doesn't work, like windmills, will just leave us in the dark in the coming years. Our cities will be dark, cold and dangerous because we haven't been able to produce enough leccy, all thanks to the enviroMentalists.

Who cares. Another coal mine is opening in Hinton next year. The demand for coal just keeps growing thanks to Jina

I will do. A beer or ten always destresses me and helps me forget a bit about the trials and tribulations wreaked upon us by the Swampies and the impending and literal darkness they are about to plunge our cities into.

Of course not, the UK is almost out of coal. What they do have are strong currents that flow all the time and they also know how to build surface repair ships under the USS designation. Canada is the UK's little bitch so will do what we are told rather than enjoying coal fired power (400 years worth using existing stocks) while being pollution free once the CO2 is being fed into the acres of green houses that surround every industrial plant. Ash starts out sterile so after the acid is gone the rains bring out the better parts, parts that plants like.

The UK has plenty of coal, not just under the land but also under the sea.

In 2014 scientists discovered 23 trillion tons of coal under the North Sea. If just a few percent of that were extracted it could power the UK for decades.

The North Sea coal is the remains of vast swampy forests that covered what is now Europe and North America when the continents lay joined together around the equator 310million years ago.

But, despite having tremendous reserves of natural energy, the weirdos who (try to) run this country nowadays don't want to use any of it. They just want, instead, to blight our landscape with useless and ugly windmills that don't work when it's windy and which won't produce the power that the country needs.

And all this over a problem - global warning - which doesn't actually exist.

It's a bit odd when you think about it.

If there was ever any doubt trudOWE is an idiot this proves it. Not only is the Paris agreement a charade Canada has several hundred years worth of coal left. Only a complete idiot would abandon a valuable resource like this for no logical reason.

One again, Flossie uses a fake title to push the agenda. Either that or in his typical fashion he wasn't able to comprehend what was written in the article.

Which is why we are not interested in any trade agreement that includes free mobility. The original intent of oceans was to keep the riffraff out. Worked for thousands of years then Columbus got lost.

You global warming nuts people are screwed in the head
Thats been proven in court by Canada's premier Climate PHD Dr Tim Ball

The reason meteorologists can't talk about climate because the government took their rights of free speech away isn't because they don't know anything about climate, it is because
THEY KNOW ITS A GIANT FUKK IN THE A$$ SCAM.

Anyone pushing that crap on the CANADIAN people should get the FIRING SQUAD for doing
NAZI GENOCIDE on the peeps

As your buddy Maurice Strong said: industry has to be destroyed so some stupid nazi deusches can rule the world with their planned little retarded technocracy.

Court Battle: Michael Mann Losing, Gives Tim Ball ‘Concessions’

Current lifestyles and consumption patterns of the affluent middle class - involving high meat intake, the use of fossil fuels, electrical appliances, home and work-place air-conditioning, and suburban housing - are not sustainable.

Maurice Strong, opening speech at the 1992 Rio Earth Summit[specific citation needed] But this quotation is not in the version posted on Mr. Strong's site.

If we don't change, our species will not survive... Frankly, we may get to the point where the only way of saving the world will be for industrial civilization to collapse.

No wonder he hid out in china (the fricken communist nazi globalist tard), but since he let the cat out of the bag, at least we know what you clowns are all about.

"Canada bans government meteorologists from talking about climate change
Meteorologists with the Canadian government aren't allowed to speak publicly about climate change

A spokesperson said the policy is because meteorologists are not climate experts
Other federal scientists must seek permission to speak to media

The measures are part of Prime Minister Stephen Harper's Communication Protocol
Critics say Harper is trying to muzzle experts

The federal Environment Canada agency says there has been an 80 per cent reduction in media coverage of climate change in Canada

A study by the Professional Institute of the Public Service of Canada reports that 90 per cent of federal scientists feel they are not allowed to speak freely about their work

Eighty-six per cent feel they would face censure for doing so - even if it was for the benefit of the public."

No they aren't abandoning coal , there is nothing about shutting down coal mining . We will still see daily 150 cars coal trains rumbling through the Fraser Valley to the coal port at Roberts Bank .

You would surface mine coal that is underwater?? (rather than drills and extracting the methane) What gas is needed to turn methane into ice? that is the industry that is needed, coals cars can bring it up from the debts and you get it next to the beer at the ma & pa corner store. As the vapors come off your ride starts to move along. If it catches fire your breath will put it out in most cases. Sniffing it will fuk you up in a hurry.
Where do I find some shares to that company??
Spinoff industry is the 'ash' is more like soil and it melts snow faster.

Think the hollow is there because London survives.
