I've never heard an "invasive" or war-mongering word out of the mouths of my 3 cousins down in Virginia. Or from any of my many friends scattered around various regions of the U.S. I think we need to think a bit more when it comes to voicing an opinion about our good neighbors to the south.
Egg Zachary! We have American relatives, too. We haven't seen very much difference between them and us. As far as companies and corporations goes, I think there are no borders these days, only different regs from country to country. And pretty much any company wants to expand and "take over" wherever it can. There are Canuck companies and corporations in other countries, too. As far as gov'ts go, they have theirs and we have ours. Paranoid delusions abound.

"Look arround. Do you still see the swastika flying high? No you don't someday you will not see that American rag either. And the lessor murderers are by far the Nazis."

Are you for real????

Where do you see the extermination camps by America, similar to those by the Nazis? Or by the Communists as per Stalin and Mao? Or by Pol Pot?

The flag you so disparagingly refer to as a "RAG" will fly high when the flags of your idols will be - rightfully - trampled in the ash heap of history, like the flag of the Soviet Union.

You seem to forget that if it was not for the United States, as neighbour, there would not be a Canada as we know it.

The extermination camp is universal and subtle. All flags are colourful rags, none of them will endure forever Jack. Your heros are someone elses villans, you are stuck in the big storybook. You remember something that did not happen. Canada in fact is not a fact as we know it. I think I'm quite a bit more real than you are Jack. So do you really think all the military hardware is to save lives and spread democracy so the American dream can be delivered to the world? Give your head a shake. You are not in Kansas anymore Jack.

Actually, the Soviet flag is still displayed quite prominently in some places, whether is out of nostalgia by die hard former party members, tourists or for souvenirs. My daughter brougt me back a Russian hat with a Soviet Emblem, and one for her mom with an Imperial Russia emblem.

Anyway, back to the topic, I think Canada/USA relations is just fine and I am glad we are different but still relatively civil toward each other as countries. I think generally as people we are pretty content with each other, too. Anyone who isn't content can go suck an egg or grow up and deal with it.

I rarely watch tv except history, discovery or news.
Actually I work with people from all over so I have a bit more open mind on people and dont pidgoen hole them like you do.
I feel sorry for folks like you haveing to go through life with tunnell vision like that.
Hate like that will eventually consume you and it apparently has allready.
This is very evident as you use this forum as a tool to spread your hate.
I know when i was running camp up north it would take me about 2 minutes to sign the papers that would get you on the first flight out of it,peeps like you can bring a whole camp down in a few days with their attitudes and pathetic attempts to get others down to their level. They say misery loves company though so maybe thats why you try and get others alongside you.

Have you ever even been to the states?

Except History, Discovery or news? You should have discovered that history is the news. You're open minded you say. I get the impression that your tolerance does not extend to anti-imperialists anti-capitalists or to people who understand physics as it explains disintegrating steel framed buildings. Hey, if for some very strange reason I found myself in your straw camp I would compell you to sign the papers weather you liked it or not. Oh sweet misery the pain is exquisite. What others? Have you ever been to Oz?

Grow up and deal with it? Most of us deal with it by not dealing with it. This is why we will fail with the monsters next door. Monsters are hard to see in the malls or riding to work at the munition forges on the Autobhan. They cannot be seen in church or in univercity or in the fields, but they are there, just ask the victims of the Holdomor who were too content with their neighbours.

I've been in physio for the past two months, physiotherapists have a uniqe way of inflicting extreme pain without causing harm, I'm sure their ops manual was written by the SS. But I still haven't given up any secrets ;-)

I still think we have a decent relationship. Better with this prez than the last one, mind you. So, who is perfect?

While we Canadians are encouraged to bend and endure the onslaught of deadly peculiarities too typical of our neighbours to the south, and even emulate the evil misbegotten gob stuffing spawn of Satan, it in no way indicates the least bit of decency. It is not decency spewing forth from the barrels of chain guns, it is death itself. Not to worry though, we all have relationship problems from time to time. It's just hurts to see a young person like you to make such poor choices. Better with Mr Hope &Change eh. Meet the new boss same as the old boss. A new paint job sells a lemon every time.

Canadians make up their own minds who they deal with or not,
and u.s. ownership within our borders only happened because
'a canadian' owner liked the 'price' he would get for
goods sold, and that is his/her decision, with no one
twisting arms, or holding guns to head, we have to take
responsibility for our own dealings, and not blame others,
especially the u.s.
If no-good comes from those transactions, it was done for
the almighty dollar to begin with, so who is to blame I
might ask, the seller or the buyer.
As soon as one crosses the 49th going north, does everyone
become 'pure', I think not, and going the other way, does
everyone turn into a 'killing machine', I think not.

Yeah, whatever you say there, Mr. Swaggart. Hallelujah!
