That's nothing. You want to see Germany. The Hun are banning New Year's fireworks in certain areas of their dreary country so as not to "upset" some of the many Syrian immigrants that are now there. The Boche are scared that the sound of the fireworks may bring back bad memories or cause nightmares to those Syrian immigrants who haven't yet quite got over the sound of shelling.

So, yet again, a Western country is bending over backwards, even to the point of preventing people from having a bit of innocent fun and enjoyment, so as not to upset or offend the Muslims.

But hey, it's the "Politically Correct" thing to do don't 'cha know? God forbid we continue with our traditions at the expense of theirs. Hurt feelin's and all that stuff.

This crap makes me so angry. Once you let fear live your life, they win. That's just what they want.

My Dad lives in constant fear over anyone attacking him or his family. While I get that he is a family man, it just makes me sad that fear can consume someone so badly like that.

Actually, the "X" is the Greek letter "chi," the first letter in "Christos."

Parchment was expensive and precious in the middle ages, so words were often abbreviated to save space. "Christ" or "Christos" was frequently abbreviated to "chi" or "chi rho" (the intertwined "P" and "x" you sometimes see) by priests and monks.

So people who claim that "Xmas" is a dirty evil commie Kenyan Muslim socialist plot to destroy whatever are really only demonstrating their ignorance of the history and art of their own religion.
