British schools where girls must wear the Islamic veil

Hundreds of girls are bring forced by British schools to wear the Islamic veil in a move which has been heavily criticized by mainstream Muslims.

The Sunday Telegraph has established that three UK institutions have introduced a compulsory veil policy when girls are walking to or from school. They are:

• Madani Girls' School in east London;

• Jamea Al Kauthar in Lancaster;

• Jameah Girls' Academy in Leicester.

All three are independent, fee-paying, single-sex schools for girls aged 11 to 18. Critics warned that the spectacle of burka-clad pupils entering and leaving the schools at the start and end of the day could damage relations between Muslim and non-Muslim communities.

What are these school's trying to do? Even Muslims find it in bad taste.

Islamic private schools may be in Britain but are not a 'British Schools' as the term implies.

I think it's a dumb rule that sets kids on the street apart for whatever happens to kids who look different.

Such schools will have one interesting side effect. It will turn teenage Muslim girls against the veil for the rest of their lives.

Not only nasty for many reasons and not required to meet religious code according to the Quran, doesn't this make them targets for the groups of girls who go looking for someone "different" to beat up and sometimes kill? We've seen enough off that sickening behaviour in B.C., I gather its almost pandemic in the UK.
