The Brits were the last ones to the show.

Other than the Vikings, the first European to lay claim to a part of what is now Canada was when the Italian explorer John Cabot explored and claimed Canada's Atlantic coast in the name of King Henry VII of England.

You can argue until the cows come home. History is not on your side.

You must study under selfsame. You'll be meeting him soon. He'll tell you that Britain was founded by Persians.

The founder of Britain was the Trojan exile Brutus of Troy, who was said to be the descendant of the Trojan hero, Aeneas. Brutus was the first King of Britain.

A Greek Captain Ioannis Phokas aka Juan de Fuca then Galiano charted it.

Who cares? Canada was never a Greek colony either, so it's not important. And thank your lucky stars you were never a Greek colony, otherwise you'd now be eating sheep's head, sea urchin salad and fried octopus ink sack, smashing plates, riding everywhere on donkeys and speaking a language that looks like somebody's been testing out a new pen.

Spain didn't want it but beat the Brits there by a long shot.

Officially speaking the bulk of Canadian colonies were never part of the Empire until several centuries later.

And you know brainwashing when you see it?

You really are that stupid.

Native Indians were here first, and were doing fine without whitey.

Yes, lifespans of 40 years were common, as was starvation and internecine warfare and genocide between different native groups. They'd be the same today were it not for the arrival of Europeans.

It's not really a case of who got there first. It's more a case of who founded Canada. And that was the British. They founded America, Australia, New Zealand, Pakistan, modern India, Zimbabwe and other countries, too. These are a lot of countries that owe their very existence to the British Empire.
