China Ranks Korea as Ninth Most Powerful nation

World's most powerful nations (ranked according to GDP, military power, diplomacy, capital strength, technological power, natural resources, human resources, government coordination and control capability, information and communication)

1) United States - 90.69
2) Britain - 65.04
3) Russia - 63.03
4) France - 62
5) Germany - 61.93
6) China - 59.10
7) Japan - 57.84
8 ) Canada - 57.09
9) South Korea - 53,2
10) India - 50.43

Korea has been ranked the ninth most powerful nation by the Chinese government's top think tank, the Academy of Social Sciences.

The U.S. was predictably in the top spot. China came sixth, one level above Japan. The CASS released a report on Thursday which ranked countries in nine areas -- GDP, military power, diplomacy, capital strength, technological power, natural resources, human resources, government coordination and control capability, information and communication -- with the average in each field determining a country's overall rank.

Among the top 10, the U.S. came first by a long chalk with a composite national power index of 90.69, followed by the U.K. with 65.04, Russia with 63.03, France with 62, Germany with 61.93, China with 59.10, Japan with 57.84, Canada with 57.09, Korea with 53.2 and India with 50.43.

Korea ranked third in information and communication with a score of 80.88, following the U.S. and Japan, and in technological power, Korea was ahead of Canada, Russia, China and India. But in terms of natural resources, capital strength and diplomacy, Korea did no better than ninth and 10th.

So your conclusion is that if bigger, better countries were excluded, Britain would be numero uno?

If the United States - which wouldn't exist were it not for the British Empire - disappeared tomorrow then Britain would be No1. Even though China, Japan and (for now) Germany have larger economies than Britain, none of them have stronger and better militaries than Britain and none of them are as influential culturally and economically as Britain.

Commonly called busy-bodies at best as you demand respect from all others but give out none. If your mouth isn't enough influence then that is what the largest standing military in the history of the world is used for. Since it is always the tool used why even bother with the charade that come when your gums start flapping?

Hey Bucko- The U.S. was there long before the Blighters even knew it existed, so you can get off your high horse! :)

Oh yeah? For over one hundred years after Columbus the Brits barely set foot on the continent and even then had a meager presence.

Nope, you have the common folks like labourers, miners and fish mongers who are quite down to earth and then you have the gentry who can be a bunch of a$$holes.

"Keeping up Appearances" depicts them well, on the one hand you have Onslow (the salt of the earth) and his wife and then there's the other A$$holes!

No, it wasn't. Don't be such a silly billy.

It wasn't the Genoese who America got its independence from. It wasn't the Genoese who gave America the English language and English common law. It wasn't the Genoese who gave America its railways. It wasn't Genoa's Magna Carta, but England's, which forms the cornerstone of the American Constitution. It wasn't the Genoese Empire, but the British one, which founded the United States. America was created by the British. The British even invented the United States Navy.

No British Empire = No United States (and Canada, too, for that matter).

That's correct, you got your asses handed on a platter and a couple of hundred years later, you still can't get over it.

It wasn't the Genoese who gave America the English language and English common law.

The British Empire never gave anything to anyone other than misery and contempt.

It wasn't the Genoese who gave America its railways.

The railways in the US didn't start until the early 19th. century you dolt.

It wasn't Genoa's Magna Carta, but England's, which forms the cornerstone of the American Constitution.

How little you know of the U.S. Constitution.

It wasn't the Genoese Empire, but the British one, which founded the United States. America was created by the British. The British even invented the United States Navy.

It was the British Navy back then, it didn't become the US Navy till 1775.

No British Empire = No United States (and Canada, too, for that matter).

At the very least, we all know what an *** you really are.
