Would this have been the Department of Deep State?

I wonder if the Trump supporters will go after the Local Police, since from what I've been hearing, the SS is in charge of the immediate area, but anything outside of it is supposed to be Local cops with SS working in conjunction with them.

Or would the spot the shooter was at still be within their realm of "immediate area"?

Who knew the Secret Service hired the Uvalde PD en masse?

Here is a pretty good thread that would answer a few of your questions

During a campaign, with many campaign events, it would be expected that the Secret Service would be at full capacity. But I would expect the sitting president and his/her family would take priority if there is a priority list.

Convicted felon Trump isn't a nominee. Nominees receive SS protection.

As do former presidents for ten years after the end of their terms.

I did not know when the SS protection began. If past president, then that probably puts him even further down the priority list.
No, "past president" is why he had protection in the first place. He's not the Republican nominee until. . . after he's nominated. Which will be at the Republican National Convention, Starts today. Ends Thursday.

The Secret Service has over 7000 special agents (that's the ones who carry guns). I've never heard of the "priority list" you keep referring to.
