Do you have any comprehension of just how many of your precious tax dollars went away with this? You haven't a fvcking clue how bad this is on so many levelsDon't worry.
This is a fantastic opportunity for TransCanada to go renewable!

What on earth is this supposed to mean?
Good news for CN&CP

That's right, the Great Lakes, like Lake Ontario will continue to be the avenue in which fuel from foreign lands is brought in to feed Ontario, Quebec, and the maritime provinces.
Don't be sad, why spend billions taking energy to a place destined to be an ice covered wasteland? The billions can be spent bringing the people to the place the energy is. Even then the place will have to be 'winterized' so the buildings are capable of being 'off the grid' as power-lines and freezing rain is not a good combination. There is no defense at the moment but of small vibrators were installed near the tops of the 'poles' the slight vibration would crack the collected ice on the tower and it should also cause the lines to oscillate just enough that ice buildup doesn't collapse the whole line as that takes months to repair.
Why would fuel for the maritimes be brought in by tanker going past the maritimes, to be then refined in Ontario and shipped to the maritimes?
It's so lovely seeing conservatives suddenly become so considerate about environmental concerns.
Let's hope this continues!
It (LNG) will come from the US from their fracked zones. US refineries will do the rest. (Quebec has been overcharging the US for power that comes from NFLD since the lines were build. They have a tendency to get revenge on the ones who take advantage of them.)Why would fuel for the maritimes be brought in by tanker going past the maritimes, to be then refined in Ontario and shipped to the maritimes?
We won't even notice.

Why do we shop crude to Texas (through a vast pipeline network) then buy it back? Why would fuel for the maritimes be brought in by tanker going past the maritimes, to be then refined in Ontario and shipped to the maritimes?
Did I say that? I said that fuel is brought in from our competitors. Ontario and Quebec have it shipped even further inland via the St Lawrence Canal and the Great Lakes.

You won't because you have selective observation and you're an idiot. The 3 TCP guys on my hockey team who got lay-off notices sure will and so will their kids.
Isn't it funny how some of the places with the most problems are heavy oil producers?
Saudi Arabia
Venezuela
Russia
Nigeria
Don't worry.

Now that the Energy East Pipeline project is cancelled we can all take a deep breath and not fret about the possibility of spills on this great land.
Don't get too comfortable though, because the mode of transporting oil from Canadian competitors (Saudi Arabia and Venezuela) will still be moving super tankers up and down the east coast and through the St Lawrence Canal and into the largest fresh water supply in the world.
That's right, the Great Lakes, like Lake Ontario will continue to be the avenue in which fuel from foreign lands is brought in to feed Ontario, Quebec, and the maritime provinces.
So, when Premieres Kathleen Wynne and Philippe Couillard stand up and say how they saved their provinces from a possible spill, remember that they have been putting those places at higher risk of environmental catastrophe by opting to buy oil from foreign governments and shipping it through North America's most precious waterway.
I really dislike politicians and the foul stench of their spin doctoring. They are corrupt, liars and lack even an infinitesimal amount of integrity.
