The RCMP released a report about a month before the election that indicated they were investigating some wrong doing on the Liberal side.

This of course, was immediately repudiated after the election, but by then, it was too late.

Gee, I wonder what that reminds us of.

Actually Iggy only showed up because the Liberals offered him the party leadership. Once he lost the election he left the country again. Michael Ignatieff; Just visiting. And yeah, he looks a bit like Count Chocula.

Stephan Dion OTOH probably lost because he's French and speaks with a very noticeable accent. Canadians were sick and tired of PMs from Quebec by that point because they cater to and pander to Quebec while ignoring the rest of the country, as we're seeing today with Trudeau. Which is a shame because I think Dion could have made a decent PM, aside from his "green agenda". He certainly would have taken the job far more seriously than Prince Selfie, who needed to take three vacations before he first full year as PM, presumably because he was exhausted from all the photo ops.

Dion's green agenda actually added a carbon tax but offset the tax with income tax cuts (promised of course). Whether they would have actually done what they promised is anybody's guess (see Red Book) but it was a reasonable approach. Because of the untrustworthiness of Lieberals, I chose not to support that. But certainly would be a better approach to Justin's pure tax.

I watched her concession speech and for the first time I felt that some truth came out her mouth and that was when she addressed the young girls of America telling them never to stop believing in their worth. For me, it was her finest moment of the entire campaign.
