If you want to understand it from my perspective, God hands over to a DEBASED MIND the people that reject Him. (Romans 1:28 ) This gives them what they really want, which is the freedom to celebrate what God decrees is wrong, and the freedom wallow in their sin.

God said homosexual behavior is sinful. They embrace, celebrate, and call it "good".

God said He created life and gives it (and He makes no mistakes). They uphold "we know what's right, not God, killing an unborn child is an acceptable choice".
As Gerryh (our resident Catholic) will tell you, God hasn't said any of those things....man wrote them in a book.

A debased mind, and its evidence of calling what is wrong "good" is in fact a mental disorder or condition.
I think you have a mental disorder...I diagnose it as religious fanaticism.

What exactly do leftists do to mitigate suffering? And I mean the big picture, not talking about giving a bum a toonie here. There are countless Christian charities that make a difference, yet the only solution leftists seem to offer is "tax the rich".
Yep, all those programs like public education and universal healthcare that were introduced by the left mean nothing compared to giving a couple of hundred bucks to some child molester in a black robe & white collar.

Uh huh. What kind of problems?
I don't know...things like spewing your radical religious views to the wrong person, telling them they have a mental disorder and then picking up your teeth if you can see them through 2 black eyes. No, seriously, you close so many doors with your views you are going to miss out on a lot of life....and teeth. ;-)

Not your Muslim neighbor, but if you're claiming to have Christian friends who vote left, you should ask them how they can reconcile voting for an ideology that contradicts the God they profess to believe. Does the bible not say that homosexual behavior is sinful? Then how can a "christian" vote a party that embraces the very sin God says in wrong? A good chuckle indeed.
I actually showed some of your rhetoric to my girlfriend's parents this afternoon. Both devout & practicing catholics, church every Sunday, in the choir, pillars of the local parish....they laughed and expressed concern for your soul.

Actually we want to protect life, not control bodies. "Hands off my body" is a false argument because an unborn baby is not a woman's body. An unborn baby has its own sex, blood type and DNA.

I'll spare you any "religious" argument against abortion.

Science
You want science? A fetus is a parasitic bundle of cells feeding off the host until it breathes on its own.

They feel like that because they're devil worshipers who read a book of hate.
Since Allah & Yaweh are one in the same that would make you a devil worshipper too!

What needs to happen to make a difference (short of another crusade) is the "moderates" will have to purge radicals from their ranks.... It's never going to happen.
Exactly the same thing can be said of christians...with you ion the radical category.

We should fear Christians praying in their own home because it drives people to pray in their own home? No Christian is forcing nor wants to force you to believe in God, pray, or attend church. Thanks for proving my point about the leftist mental disorder i.e. irrational fears.
I fear dumb-f*ck radical christians like you ever having an influence over the weak minded or even worse kids of your own.

You think a guy sticking another guy's dick in his mouth is normal? First of all, stay away from my kids, and second, by calling perverted sickos "normal" and "healthy", you again prove the point that leftism is in fact a mental disorder. "What's good is bad, what's bad is good". This is the left's M.O.
Not normal for me but for a lot of priests and other christians it is.

That's right! We don't determine right and wrong either! Only God can do that!
Well since god doesn't exist (hate to break that to you) that means you believe some imaginary old dude who lives in the clouds tells you right from wrong....who has the mental issue here?

My opinion aside, this is the biblical position, which is that people like homosexuals (one example) have debased minds. Does debased mind not sound like a horrible mental condition to you? And I'm not stretching it, that's what the bible plainly says. Read Romans 1:24-32.
If I'm going to read fiction I prefer sci-fi and detective novels.

You'll have to define "crosses that public realm". What does that constitute? Preaching in public? Defending the traditional definition of marriage? Protesting abortion butcher shops?
I can help you with this. You can step on your soap-box and preach on the street corner if you like and if anyone will listen. You can spew any rhetoric about traditional marriage you want. You can protest abortion as much as you want (as long as you don't interfere with them conducting their business or clients). What you cannot do is enact laws imposing your views on the rest of us.

Now just for a little giggle here is a short list of some prominent christian republicans and their exploits...
Top Five Republican Gay Sex Scandals | Badmouth

Mark Foley
U.S. Representative
(September 28, 2006)
The Crime: Sending sexually laced, gramatically challenged instant messages and e-mails to teenaged boys in the Congressional page program for more than 10 years.
The Hypocrisy: Chairman of the House Caucus on Missing and Exploited Children. One of the foremost opponents of child pornography in the Senate.
The Quote: “get a ruler and measure it for me”

Ted Haggard
Leader of the National Association of Evangelicals
(November 2006)
The Crime: Paying male prostitutes for sex and snorting crystal meth.
The Hypocrisy: A powerful force in the evangelical movement, Haggard participated in weekly meetings with President George Bush and top advisors where he gave spiritual advice. He taught that homosexuality was an abomination and actively lobbied against gay rights.
The Quote: “I did not have a homosexual relationship with a man in Denver.”

Larry Craig
U.S. Senator
Senate Liason for Mitt Romney’s Presidential Campaign
(June 11, 2007)
The Crime: Soliciting sex from an undercover cop in an airport bathroom
The Hypocrisy: Craig twice voted against adding the words “sexual orientation” to the federal hate crimes law. Craig also voted to give states the right to refuse to recognize gay marriage–a right they already had, but the Senator wanted to really, really prove he didn’t like gay people.
The Quote: “I am not gay, I don’t do these kinds of things.”

Bob Allen
Member of the Florida House of Representatives
Florida Chairman of John McCain’s Presidential Campaign
(July 11, 2007)
The Crime: Offering an undercover cop $20 to allow Allen to blow him in a men’s room in a public park. After being arrested, Allen tried to explain that he only offered to blow the cop because the cop was a “burly black man” and he “didn’t want to become a statistic.”
The Hypocrisy: Allen was one of 21 Florida legislators to sign Gov. Jeb Bush’s friend-of-the-court brief supporting the state’s ban on gays adopting children, and he co-sponsored an unsuccessful bill that would have enhanced penalties for “offenses involving unnatural and lascivious acts” such as indecent exposure.
The Quote: “I certainly wasn’t there to have sex with anybody and certainly wasn’t there to exchange money for it.”

Glenn Murphy Jr.
National Chairman of the Young Republicans
Chairman of the Clark County Republican Party
(July 28, 2007)
The Crime: Murphy got a fellow Young Republican drunk and then spent the night at his house. The other young man woke up in the middle of the night to find Murphy giving him mouth-to-penis resuscitation. After this incident, a 1998 sexual battery report came to light in which Murphy was alleged to have done the exact same thing.
The Hypocrisy: Murphy was a well-paid political consultant for Republican candidates and often advised them to use gay marriage as a wedge issue to paint their opponents as out of touch with traditional values.
The Quote: “I was in the Sound of Music in High School…don’t ask” (from his now-defunct Myspace page.)

Leftism is all about rejecting God, and promoting an immoral lifestyle. So no, I don't see any "good" in it, or Obama, whatsoever.

Oh really? Have you ever heard of someone called Tommy Douglas? If not I suggest you look him up.

For that matter why not look up a few of the leftist comments of a guy called Jusus Christ? You might find them enlightening.

Where do you get this stuff from, man? If this is part of religious teachings, then all I would say is that religion is evil or at the very least those passing themselves off as religious are evil. Religion supposedly teaches tolerance for starters.

My opinion aside, this is the biblical position, which is that people like homosexuals (one example) have debased minds. Does debased mind not sound like a horrible mental condition to you? And I'm not stretching it, that's what the bible plainly says. Read Romans 1:24-32.

Unfortunately for you, not all the world relies on or believes in your version - whichever it is - of the bible. As someone who does not take what the bible says as literal truth, what you say it says means as much to me as what a Muslim would say to me using the Qur'an for a source.

Honestly, the only "debased" mind I see right now, is yours.

Islamic terrorism is downplayed by the left all the time. They do it frequently by deflecting or "moving the goal posts" so to speak, when they try to tell us the "real threat" are those "Christian extremists" (who happen to oppose abortion and "gay marriage", two things the left supports). Rosie O'Donnell comes to mind.

Like Rosie is a leading person in the Left? Please. I know a lot of left leaning people who look at Islamic Terrorism and hate it. Granted, they usually have issues with Christian Extremists as well (sometimes similar issues in fact) but that's beside the point. YOU made the claim liberals have no problem with Islamic Extremists and I think you know that's utter BS.

You'll have to define "crosses that public realm". What does that constitute? Preaching in public? Defending the traditional definition of marriage? Protesting abortion butcher shops?

By forcing the religious beliefs of one faith onto others whether they are of that faith, another faith, or none. You want to preach in public, fine, want to say marriage to you is one man one woman, fine, want to protest abortion clinics, fine. But you (generic, not specific) cross the line when you demean and decry one faith as being evil and inciting acts of violence on said other faiths (or lack there of). You cross the line when you dictate that ONLY a man and woman can be married, when same sex marriages have happened before, on this very continent, long before your ancestors showed up from Europe and use a flawed man-written book as the basis of that denial. You cross the line when you subject girls already having hard issues with the choice they've made, for whatever reason, to abort their child to bullying and when you threaten and kill people who work in such clinics. That's the line I'm talking about.

So long as you can be civil in preaching your faith in your version of God, so long as you can step back and respect that I don't follow your beliefs and instead believe that if I love someone of the same sex, it's okay to wed them, so long as you don't pressure me to change my mind about aborting a child because you don't have a clue to the circumstances of WHY I would be at that clinic, then everything's good and I have no problem with you.

Oh but when "religion" (in particular Christianity) crosses into the public realm it "needs to be checked".

!!! PURE HYPOCRISY ON YOUR PART !!!

The hypocrisy would be if I did believe it was just Christianity that needed this check. I don't. ALL religions, ALL faiths need to follow that "check". I don't give a darn whether it's Jewish, Muslim, Christian, Hindu, Wiccan or whatever; in the end, no religion has a right to dictate how things should be - must be - when it comes to the public realm. Because in public, we're not all the same faith no matter how much people might want otherwise.

But that is what you're trying to say:

We "won't be going back to the way they were" because those times were "bad". We live in "better" times.

In that sense, then yes, it was what I was trying to say. Because I believe it is better (but also worse in some cases, too). Sorry if I think coat hangers for abortions, hiding rape and molestation, abuse, a woman's place is in the home under the "control" of the husband, slavery, child labor, racial inequality and other issues were wrong. Silly me.

"I'm incensed that you said there is no good on the left. There is no good on the right."

I do not believe I said that. In fact I said that neither left or right has the place to make itself out to be "the only good". There is good on both sides, and there's bad. Again, that was my point which you obviously just can't stomach.

So what are you saying, the American people are forced to chose between a liar and an
impostor pretending they have human feelings? Romney would know a lunch bucket guy
if he met one. How can he possibly identify with people he knows nothing about and has
no understanding of them? At least Obama started off way down the rung and made a
wealth plan of his own. The difference is in private life Obama would not sell the middle
class guys job to the Chinese. That is a major difference.
As for Chicago style politics? Sure he must have played the game, and Romney didn't
The fact is Romney played the upper class style politics, they don't flog people anymore
as they did during the inquisition, nope, they now use the economy to starve them to death.
Romney has also played the religious political game and that is worse.
I have problems with both these guys, no doubt, they are both conservatives and they are
both afraid to tell us all what they personally think because it would cost them both. The
problem is the American people are to blame for they cant' accept the truth so both couch
the message. And the message?
WE ARE BROKE and we will be for a long time. It started when Reagan deregulated as
much as he could and the rich and the powerful put personal wealth ahead of the welfare
of the country. After that the middle class and the poor got on the gravy train and ruined
the rest of the country. Now its time to pay up. That is what the people should hear and
both skirt the truth for votes. Lies are plenty on both sides of the tracks the problem is
they both see a train wreck through different eyes.

The news is slowing leaking out of the White House that both Clinton and Panetta were aware of the problems in Libya and had formally asked for permission from the President to beef up their security forces and both requests were denied at the top level. That means to me that either Biden or Obama knew and probably both did. That tells me that both are not sharing the truth with us the electorate. Why?? Probably because they know it may significantly affect the outcome.
