I would be more open minded about loosening up the drinking laws as long as the excuse of "but I was drunk" was taken off the books when people do stupid/criminal activities. YA CAN'T SUCK AND BLOW AT THE SAME TIME!

No more so than prohibiting a patron who is old enough to eat popcorn!
If you want to keep those 18 out you'd have a bar that showed movies not a theater that sold alcohol.

Samething was pitched in SK a few years ago. Beer, wine and coolers in theaters problem ewas that restrcited movies allow 18 year old in while the drinking age is 19. They decided against lowering the drinking age just to sell in theaters.

One of the theatres here sold alcohol, they just had a special lounge/balcony that you had to show ID to enter. Don't know if it ever really took off and I never went because it was across town.

What's wrong with having a glass of wine or a cold beer while watching a movie?
Nothing, that is why people have been smuggling those things in since they opened theaters. (just maske sure the cork doesn't go flying off)

Good luck on the lawsuits that has you inviting somebody in just long enough to put them over the legal limit and then kicking them out so they have to drive. (ask them to pay for your cab and see what happens. They would be better off doing a movie version of netflix and giving out coupons to specific beverages that can be redeemed at the regular beer store and then downed at home where the customer has a bed to sleep it off.

Once it gets to true vr mode you will appreciate the lack of vomit by the end of the ride/movie.

You can legally watch smut films when you're 18 not allowing entry becomes a rights violation.

Like I say. This was debated in SK a few years ago.

that makes no sense. you can legally eat and dance at 18, yet you're not allowed in night clubs. it's not a rights violation.

at our local Theatre (ie, live theatre, symphony concerts, etc), you can buy drinks at intermission. They even allow children to watch! Gasp.

Dated liquor laws are hurting business in BC. Art galleries want changes so they can have another source of income for shows. When an artist has a show with a video, no liquor can be sold. Looks like BC is going to enter the 21st century here in the next year or two. It's about time.

As far as booze goes, I've seen it from both ends of the spectrum, 25 years when I over indulged several times a week and almost 25 years when I've gone for months at a time without drinking any. My conclusion is booze is highly over rated, just sad to see some need it to function at pretty well every situation. But it took me 25 years to catch on!

I don't drink much myself, never have, but businesses want it. It creates jobs and I can't find good reasons to oppose it
