all F18 are carrier capable - that is one of the things that adds to their cost without adding to their functionality if you don't have carriers.
we argued about this in the 1970s when they decided to buy these ridiculous things.
and since the huge expenditure and all the money we have spent to keep them flying the CF18 has never delivered a single tangible benefit to Canada or Canadians - that's why we need more!!
It we were to dedicate the same amount of money to water bombers / fire fighting aircraft we would have a national service and capability that would save lives and help Canadians in distress.
Fast air is an anachronism. A stupid and useless frill.
