The election is over, get over it.
What about accountability for the deaths of the four Americans? Is no one to be disciplined for malfeasance?

What happened in Benghazi occurred because of a complex set of contributing causes. Repetition of the mistakes made in Benghazi can't be avoided without scrutiny of the policy judgments that had a causal effect. Within that context there is a role for politics to play. It's part of American political culture.

Yeah, you really care about that.

Personal comments don't advance discourse.

Just like all those tears you shed for victims of the Iraq war, Innocents killed in Gaza or Afghans killed from drones strikes.

I guess I just don't understand why you are going after me when I haven't expressed an opinion about Iraq, Gaza or Afghanistan in this thread. What makes you think I don't care about the deaths mentioned in your post? Is it because I'm an American conservative? There isn't a causal connection between conservatism and lack of compassion for the death of innocents.

In any event someone in the obama administration should be held accountable and be disciplined for malfeasance. A congressional investigation is necessary to elicit all of the evidence. Obama will be held accountable for appointing the people responsible for the malfeasance.

Then please do, express your opinion.

Obama is no better than bush when it comes killing innocent people.

Now a claim is being made "from an unnamed source" that Ambassador Rice was only quoting from a statement sent to her by a WH staffer. BUT... no one can produce that communication. This entire incident is a real mess but I do think there is a lot more to it than what we are being told publicly. In testimony today the suggestion that the Benghazi attack lasted for about 10 hours is now the new story.

That's true, but bush isn't president. The only guy ordering americans into combat and funding war is named obama. So the difference between bush and obama is the difference between the past tense and the present tense.

Yep, I can accept that.

Eagle,

People went to JAIL!

Ollie North was arrested but his conviction was overturned because his testimony came only after he was granted immunity by Congress (therefore, it was inadmissible as evidence). This includes members of the Democratic party and the joint committee which undertook those hearings was headed by Dem Daniel Inouye if I recall correctly. Both Jim Wright and Senator Robert Byrd declined to initiate impeachment hearings on Reagan from the very beginning of those proceedings even though they had a far greater basis for this against him than they did against Nixon.

For the record, I did not blame North as he was following orders from Reagan who openly called himself a "Contra" which were the al-Qaeda terrorists of Central America. On that basis, I would also have dismissed charges against him and use it as evidence against Reagan - we would have had a clear case of criminal activity, an easy impeachment, and an even easier conviction of high crimes and misdemeanors. But, as always, the milquetoast Democrats were too passive and kissed up to Reagan.

This is truly NOT good news for John McCain

The best laid FoxNews and McCain conspiracy theories bite the dust. I wonder if this is one reason Romney backed off on Libya after getting national security briefings

Ex-CIA Director David Petraeus told lawmakers Friday that classified intelligence showed the deadly raid on the U.S. Consulate in Libya was a terrorist attack, but that the administration withheld the suspected role of specific al-Qaida affiliates to avoid tipping off the terrorist groups.

The recently resigned spy chief explained that references to terrorist groups suspected of carrying out the violence were removed from the public explanation of what caused the attack so as not to tip off the groups that the U.S. intelligence community was on their trail, according to lawmakers who attended the private briefings

I'm surprised it took them so long to come up with such a lame excuse. National Security. Shhh, don't let Al Qaeda...you know, the guys who are on the run and decimated because I...errr...we killed Bin Laden.....catch wind of the fact that we're after them. Shhhh.

lol at what this administration won't try, and what the lefty media won't lap up and pass along without question. Even Pravda and Press TV are shaking thier heads. It's embarrassing. How long before Russia accepts defectors?

Yes ................

This press briefing after he emerges from the Petraeus testimony will be marked as the moment when John McCain lost all credibility.

His loss to President Obama couldn't do it. Even his bitter service on the Senate these past four years couldn't do it.

Instead, an attack on our consulate in Libya and his surreal vendetta against the Ambassador to the United Nations, Susan Rice, has finally pushed his relevance forever over the edge.

It was clear from his very brief and breathless words that he knew just how big a pile of elephant crap he had stepped in.

Gone was the demand for the Susan Rice's head on a plate fire he and his toady sidekick Lindsey Graham exhibited just hours before.

Gone was his bluster and confidence. That was just a sad man standing there realizing just how much respect he had thrown away.

And if ever a man deserved that moment of complete shame in front of the cameras he constantly craves, that was the moment.

Lindsey Graham, Fox News and all the rest of you who used this attack on the United States as a political weapon against our President for your own partisan purposes? Watch that clip of John McCain and tell me you aren't worried about your own day of comeuppance.

And finally. John McCain, you owe Susan Rice, President Obama, and the American people a sincere apology.

Harry Reid to senators: No Libya panel

If Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid didn’t make it clear enough to Republicans that he opposes a select committee to investigate the Benghazi attacks, he said it again Friday: No way.

In letters to key Republican senators, Reid put his foot down — again — on the idea of a special panel to dig into the Sept. 11 assault that killed U.S. Ambassador Chris Stevens and three diplomatic aides in Libya. A select committee would need a floor vote to be created, and Reid said he wouldn’t permit it.

And why should they hold a panel on this issue? You may want to watch that video I posted after Petreaus' testimony.

McCain has obviously surrendered his previous talking points after attending petreaus' testimony and getting the facts first hand. What a consept !! And he likely only attended because he was admonished for this previous juvenile acting.........

McCain skips Benghazi hearings to hold presser demanding Benghazi hearings

McCain skips Benghazi hearings to hold presser demanding such hearings

It was impossible to miss John McCain’s growing desperation yesterday, as his plans to bring down Obama backfired and the narrative of the day became him skipping the very briefing that would have answered his questions. Trending on Yahoo all day was “John McCain Missed Briefing While Slamming Obama Over Benghazi Attack”. Alexa treated him no better.

Embarrassed and humiliated, the Senator screamed at a CNN for pointing out that while he appeared on TV to talk about how he needed more information about Benghazi, he missed his own committee briefing on Benghazi.

Asked to comment, he said, “I have the right as a senator to have no comment and who the hell are you to tell me I can or not?” Followed up by, “I’m upset that you keep badgering me.”

Then, Republicans in a House Foreign Affairs hearing ratcheted up their accusations to full scale crazy, likening what the Obama administration has done on Benghazi to being worse than Watergate and repeatedly accusing him of lying.

Expect more hysteria from Republicans as their attempts to get everyone else on board with their trumped up charges and flimsy arguments fail. No one is talking about the scandal of Benghazi, they are talking about how John McCain was screaming on TV about not knowing what was revealed in the hearing he missed because he was screaming on TV.

That my friends is some sad, sad stuff.
