Conservative MP Dan Albas accused Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland of “lecturing” Canadians on Thursday during question period in reference to a speech where she laid out the government’s plan to tackle inflation and called on the Liberals to consider his party’s proposals. Meanwhile, Tourism Minister Randy Boissonnault retorted, saying the opposition party proposed Canadians put money into Bitcoin and cited the movie “Risky Business.” “Had you listened to the Conservatives, you’d have lost your shirt in the last year,” he said.

So is it just Bitcoin that makes you all whiny, or other cryptocurrencies like Dogecoin and Ethereum too?

And speaking of economically illiterate, we have a delusional PM who thinks budgets balance themselves. And what exactly is a journalist doing playing at Minister of Finance? Appointing a journalist as Minister of Finance is almost as stupid as electing a drama teacher to be PM, three times.

From the link above: And yet the prime minister tells us he doesn’t think about monetary policy, meaning he doesn’t think about inflation.

That’s being “economically illiterate” on steroids.

Hey, let's replace the Bank of Canada with a puppet to serve the gubmint, cause das a good idea.

Chrystia Freeland slams Pierre Poilievre as ‘economically illiterate’

Canada got a taste of what a head-to-head political fight between two people believed to want the country’s top political job — the post of prime minister — would look like.

Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland lambasted Pierre Poilievre — the front-running candidate for the Conservative party’s top job — for his attacks on the central bank and his promise to fire its governor, Tiff Macklem, if he becomes prime minister.

In a major speech to the Empire Club of Canada Thursday outlining her approach to tackling inflation, Freeland said that respect for the Bank of Canada’s “central role” and its policy aim to keep total inflation to within, and at the midpoint of, one-to-three per cent range over the medium term is part of the Liberal government’s approach.

She said the bank has “begun the work of bringing inflation back within target, and it has the tools and the expertise it needs to keep inflation from becoming entrenched.” She underscored other previously announced measures to provide more individual income supports as well.

Be accountable, or be replaceable.

In a speech to the Empire Club in Toronto Thursday, without mentioning him by name, Freeland slammed Poilievre as “economically illiterate” for what she called his irresponsible criticism of the Bank of Canada and its governor, Tiff Macklem, whom Poilievre has said he will fire if he ever becomes prime minister.

But it was a bad idea for Freeland to raise the issue of economic illiteracy at all, given that her boss, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, said during last year’s federal election campaign that he doesn’t think about monetary policy.

That means he doesn’t think about inflation. When asked about possible strategies for addressing inflation while on the campaign trail, Trudeau responded: “I don’t think about monetary policy.”

I'm not sure if you've ever listened to the extreme right wing radio station AM 640, but guess who owns it?

Ok, we all have Google, & i’m assuming you’re talking about some local Toronto radio station when you say AM 640? If so it’s owned by the CORUS group, and I almost hate to ask but what in your mind qualifies this as an “extreme right wing radio station” just for the sake of conversation?

For the sake of conversation is this specific radio station in Toronto (?) any more or less extreme in whatever direction compared to any other asset owned by this specific media franchise?

John Oakley in the afternoon is somewhat critical of the leftist bunch. There is a lady in the evening too, forget her name. The rest are much more left. Pretty well balanced these days.

So…..”somewhat critical of the leftist bunch” qualifies as an “extreme right wing radio station.” Well, good to know they’ve found a balance from their extremism?

Happy Fathers Day.

She's so funny. It's sad that she doesn't know what she's doing or what she's talking about. Talk about illiterate! She doesn't understand how inlation comes into being obviously because pouring more money into so-called "income supports" will only increase inflation. Talk about being illiterate, OMG!!!
