You seem proud of all the bad things they have done so far. How much more do you want to destroy?
They are all things that they ran their election platform on. They are all things that they were elected to do.

I don't know who is implying that. If that's what people want to debate there is this site to research https://www.trudeaumetre.ca/ . I'm less concerned about that. I'm hoping to have a PM who will create some confidence in the business/financial communities as well. He'll need it to achieve his debt/GDP goals. Obviously the world has changed somewhat since they drafted their campaign promises. Lets hope he can adapt as well. The implication was and is, that the present Liberal government has not followed through on any of their promises. They have been in for less than three months, have only sat in Parliament a very short time and have accomplished a decent list, so far. To state otherwise is nothing more than sour grapes.

Nope. I like my beavers shaved.get into bed with DB?
My mother is a staunch feminist, who clawed her way up the corporate ladder to a VP-ship in a major Canadian financial institution. This bill isn't supposed to change the legal status of women. It's supposed to acknowledge and address the fact that women have faced systemic barriers to accessing full public participation in Canadian history, and that some elements of today's Canadian reality are holdovers from a time when equal legal footing did not exist. When the English lyrics were written in 1906, and a conscious choice was made to refer exclusively to men in the anthem's lyrics, remember that a woman was not to be considered a "person" in interpreting the Canadian constitution.
The bill might not do anything except replace two words in a schedule to the National Anthem Act, but let's remember that anthems, like other national symbols, can carry incredible weight in terms of the social and cultural fabric of a country. I, for one, think that said fabric should be an inclusive and forward-thinking one. I hope that this bill receives the support of the House.
She coulda been a contender!Apparently, your mother's accomplishments had very little to do with her ambition, personal commitments, motivation or intelligence.
Just think of how much farther that your mother would have risen had the anthem had those 2 words replaced a few decades back.
... One can only dream, eh?

First time in my whole life she's turned on the Liberals.
Yep, she's where I got the name "Bobble head" for JT. She changed her tune when they helicopter'd JT in to lead the party. She saw it for exactly what it was. A pretty figure head, that would run on a cult of personality. She's absolutely disgusted with women who claim to be feminists, who fawn over him, and couldn't see through "I'm a feminist too, but I'm one with Muslims that segregate their women". She thinks those women are a slightly bigger joke than JT.Interesting that she has reconsidered he political position.
Have you had the chance to speak with her and understand what issue(s) were the pivot point?
I think the thing I'm most disappointed in concerning the Obama administration is the health care thing. We all need health insurance including me as I'm at the age when things are starting to go wrong. I guess I'm guilty of not being as informed as I should have been but I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer concerning political issues. I thought we'd all have health insurance and I considered that a good thing. When the man was elected our group insurance at the place I worked was canceled and all my co workers were basically,,,fvcked. When I started having problems I had to move to another state to get medical help. I voted for Obama. I regret that I did for that reason alone.Regardless of the nation, one of the risks that comes with the job is that you will be held to your word and all of your words analyzed.
JT (and BHO) both did their requisite grand-standing in order to get the job, now it's time to answer
Power has never rested within the PMO. It's that simple. Every and any Canadian PM is subject to offshore rule. The job of the PM has always been to present a resonable facsimile of command and control not the actual power itself.

In the end, we all get the government that we deserve as opposed to the gvt that we want..... It's more of a sad reflection on the electorate more than a condemnation of the actual politician or the Party
I don't think JT has fully realized that yet but it's a blessing that the power doesn't rest in HIS hands. His Pollyanna approach doesn't resonate well in the real world.
