Not the best, but the one I watched most recently was "Cowboys & Aliens"....

It had it's moments, with lots of action and good graphics, but felt like a
movie adapted from a book, where much was cut out to fit into a movie.

I don't know if this poem/story was ever made into a movie.

A guy in the South during the American civil war left his wife and home to fight in the war and after seeing many horrors he was captured and a rope put around his neck and then pushed off a bridge. The rope breaks and he ends up in the river and the rest of the story is about his ordeal in getting back to his wife, finally, he gets to the road leading to the house and his wife sees him and comes running toward him and just moments before they reach other the rope loses all it's slack and his neck is broken. Can't recall the title.

Other than that, 'Paint Your Wagon' cause of the drunk horse.

I think the drunk horse was in Cat Balou actually. Both were pretty damned funny movies, though. lol
I stand corrected, the part I was referencing is when the horse was leaning against a wall rather than running in the streets. I hope it wasn't Lee's singing that I remember.

No offense intended. I like some of these oldies - also reminds me of some of the folks we don't see here anymore. Would like to see them come back to the forum.

KARL PILKINGTON ON COWBOYS:

Not my sort of thing really, cowboys and that, never been in to them when I was kid, but I’ll have a look … They’re meant to be like proper men though aren’t they? But then, are they? Do you know what I mean? If I went home and met up with my mates and they was like "Oh, what are you doing these days?', I go "I got in to horses, I like riding horses", they be "What…you…you knob." Do you know what I mean? It's not a very manly thing to do at home.

But for some reason, when you do think of cowboys you do think manliness, but I think maybe it's losing it a bit now. Maybe cowboys aren’t like that, since you know…since Brokeback Mountain and the Village People, there’s been little things eating away at cowboys that are sort of ruining their reputation a little bit. John Wayne, didn’t he turn out to be gay?
